Thank You. I'm 62, after watching this, I'd rather live on the moon. Give me a medium to larger college town, anytime.
I'm with you!!
I just turned 50, and Tuscaloosa is the place to be!!
I grew up in Leesburg as a Florida native and I have to say the villiages has completely ruined every childhood memory I had of hunting and exploring the woods around lady lake. But I guess that's the price to pay for freedom. Long live Florida....
So sad that you feel that way. What does this have to do with freedom?
Sounds more like tyranny to me
whole thing is rich jews. No thanks.
@@HeetXS I feel bad for you, seriously
Being such a loser that literally zero Jews have ever wanted to be friends with you your entire life.

That's the price to pay for giving in to greedy developers.
Actually rich Nazi's.
I turn 61in July of 2023, Total hippie and retired Wall street guy. I am a pro guitarist, chess & poker player and still dig my psychedelics. Live in Austin TX now but looking to move to a tad "older" community even though I still dig younger chicks. But younger now means 55. Fuck I am getting old.
If you are the party big crowd atmosphere type, this is for you. I'd rather live in a quiet and peaceful community with access nearby to do these things when I'm in the mood.
Looks like a place for 55 and older idiots that like to get drunk
Been here 4 years and a trust me far from the big crowd type. Yes, winters can get crowded if you choose to go to the squares, summers are warm so get outside early or late evenings. Golf, pickleball, tennis, bocce, pools, pitch and putt courses, par 3 putting greens, dog parks, 150 miles of golf cart and multi use paths, Rec centers for endless exercise from pool volleyball , aerobics or lounging some adult only some sports some family. If you download the villages app you can see daily what is offered you will scroll m scroll and scroll some more it will shock you what they offer, everything from Archery to Yoga.
I have a private Villa ,quiet beautiful gardens with fountains. Sanctuary. Friendly neighbors that will help you if you need it or leave ya be no judgement. The Villages does an amazing job of maintaining the property. If you see a piece of trash it won’t be there long. Crime is almost non existent. So feel very safe. The nice part is IF I do decide I want to do something there are loads and loads of options. 99% of the people you meet are extremely nice. Grand kids LOVE to come here LOTS to do. My 42 year old son would be here tomorrow if he could. Haven’t had one day of regret. If you think your interested they offer a “life style “visit where you can pay $99 ( might be a little more now) a night they will put you up in a home give you golf cart and let you explore . No hard sale tactics it sells itself.
I enjoy your videos…you’ve done a good job over the time you’ve been doing these. I notice in the last interview you did, you said there’s 150,000 homes here, but I’ve been told by people who work for The Villages stats of 70,000 homes, 140,000 people.
Great job people! We first saw TV here in the UK on various You Tube channels and became fascinated. We rented through VRBO for 3 weeks earlier this year and we love it! Going back in a couple of months. It is amazing how those rumours are widely known. I’ll stick a pool noodle on top of my golf cart next time just to find it in the sea of similar looking vehicles and see if we can start a new rumour. 🤣
We will check back in a year to see if any new pool noodle rumors have caught on! 😂
You cannot get quality homeowners insurance IN MOST IF NOT ALL of Florida. If there is storm damage, you ARE OUT OF LUCK.
says this comment is a year old...has there been any pool nodle rumors?
I’ve lived here, all my life, I remember when it was nothing but orange groves, and now the villages is growing to almost the size of Orlando, for anyone, considering moving here, I highly recommend you don’t, the villages is the reason I am moving far away, it’s by far the worst place. The traffic is terrible and the people are absurd. It’s getting out of hand.
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR Homeowners insurance? People in Charlotte County are not getting help.
I'm 49 and I can honestly say from watching some of these elderly parents or people I couldn't honestly say they're kind of embarrassing they seem like a bunch of drunks. So I guess since they're in Florida they consider it par.for.the course😂
I lived in wildwood in 1990..watched the whole thing begin.
Like.those that grew up in Orlando pre Disney!!
Sounds like what happened to my family, we lived in California in the bay area when San Jose was orange groves. Then Intel built their headquarters down the road and that was it.

Another great video you guys put out! We originally thought that The Villages were for us when we started researching 55+ communities. But the more we learned we knew it wasn’t where we wanted to be. The place is beautiful and the town squares are incredible but for us it just seems too big, too populated and too busy.
It is. I sometimes regret my decision to buy here.
@@Arty_left The Villages has nearly 100,000 old people. Who wants a singles bar with that demographic? No thanks..

to find any persons house...you must have GPS in the car or you will drive around forever.
My biggest issue with The Villages is being too far from the beaches unlike living in say, a 55+ village in Sarasota. But in your later years a community vibe is beneficial and the neighborhoods where your house is appears to be very quiet.
The Villages (especially Town Square areas) is modeled EXACTLY after Disney World (except for the rides). It's big and loud all the time with piped in sounds and smells to make you think it's Utopia. Designed to attract all the residents to interact and spend a lot of money all the time on recreation, food, drink and useless crap.
And for someone like me, it's quite from a sunset beach. I'm happy being 5 minute gentle walk to the sands while catching the sunset across the ocean. To me that's the beneficial therapy. The calmness and God's assurance of "well done my son".
@@jaysantos536Well if they're not gonna spend the money, who will? They saved for 30+ years.
@@jaysantos536 that is Sooooo untrue ! Piped in smells. lol yes the squares (only ) have music playing if your inclined to visit them . Live music 365 a year of GOOD bands if ya like to dance or mingle. Yes, busy in winter with people escaping the artic of the North but 75% of the time very quiet .I moved here from the beach after dealing with hurricanes from June - November the beach is the last thing you want to deal with as a retiree and talk about crowds ! You can find what your looking for, if your so inclined, anywhere! I am in a Private villa with gardens , fountains and a pool across from a golf course , serene. No trash , grounds beautifully maintained, no homeless and virtually no crime and if I decide to venture out some of the nicest people you will ever meet . Yes, there will always be a “Karen “ most have relocated from the north sad but true.
I live by the beach in Sarasota Florida and it’s hell. Crowded, moldy, storm surges, paved over, poorly engineered, hurricanes, high insurance, loads of tourists, expensive and not worth it.
I’ll gladly move inland to a well designed and maintained area.
Villages are a super great place to live- I live here and rarely go to the squares for the evening events. I get up early and play tennis then water volleyball, sometimes other sports in the evening and I work part time. If you want an active lifestyle, to stay healthy, NOT be a couch potato, The Villages are the best! Villages are not for everyone, so if it's not for you stay on your couch! You do you! There are so many friendly people and there are a FEW jerks who are rude and impatient, but isn't that true anywhere you live? I have lived in many states and places, but Florida is my favorite! I have researched and visited many 55 communities and Villages is the place for me.
Thanks for sharing your personal experience! We love to hear things like this! 😃
how does it compare to Margaritaville?
...so my only options are to stay on my couch or live in the villages. interesting

If you do move there you’ll forget how to drive and everything about road rules. You’ll immediately drive 10-15 mph under the speed limit. You’ll forget that your car has a blinker, and signs like DO NOT ENTER, don’t pertain to you.

I visited once, and remember dinner at the bar. I woke up in a unit with a dozen naked old people, a really sore butt, and dentures everywhere. It was a nightmare but the food was good. I escaped on a golf cart, and made it all the way to Atlanta before the battery died.

My husband once said...we've lived here since 2006 and we have not come into contact with anyone associated with the loofas side of the The Villages...how are we missing this? My personal view is that there is a dark side and a weird side to communites all over the world and if you look hard enough you will find it. I focus more on the positive and care not to find that stuff. More into crafts, swimming, golf and recreational activities.
@@debbiemartin6845 *All depends on what one is looking for. You weren't looking so you didn't find it. Cheers!*
I've been looking for a place to retire and visited the Villages. It's such a nice area with awesome amenities and conveniences, but it's a bit much for me. I think I'll keep looking for something a little more laid back and affordable. It's definitely frustrating, but the search continues. I'll be back down in September to look again.
I probably saw the Villages 10-15 years ago for the 1st time (10-15 years before I could qualify to live there). I loved it - because it was much smaller and the houses were very very affordable. Now - not so much ... I still love it but don't think it is affordable any longer - but we'll see - sometime. I sure like Gov. DeSantis and what he is doing in that state.

Thank you, Lori! Glad you enjoyed it! 😀
"Not for everybody". Indeed. Good that there is always a choice in life. I prefer a mix of people and ages in a real environment. Not semi-assisted living. Sitting in a café or a bistro with young people, kids and young couples is life. I also loved NYC, but too exhausting (and pricey) when you are older. My plan so far: medium size city, Côte d'Azur or Northern Italy, rent an apartment with a terrace or balcony(better than buying at a certain age and keeps you flexible), beach, travel. city, countryside, good food, family/kids not too far away.
Italian building codes suck. Walls are paper thin so you can hear everything from your neighbors including the toilets flushing, their farts and pissing along with their LOUD voices all day long. Yeah, a real shangri La.
That could be nice but not everyone speaks French or Italian.
@@carlgehriger6732 That's true but you can learn it, even after moving there, which is highly appreciated if Americans do that. And in Northers Italy (Südtirol), German would do the trick as well ;-)
Your advantage: English. No problem getting around and organizing your life there, but of course only half the fun. In some "hip neighborhoods" in the cities it's sometimes as easy if not easier in English because it's such an international mix.
I speak 4 languages and thats really the key to dive in and become more than just a visitor.
I'm studying Russian as I'll be retiring there. Lots of mid-20s supermodel type girls in my village, wishing to learn to converse with someone in English. Enter me.
I remember an old guy on a cruise that waited until the ship's store discounted the captains hat that he wanted. He had more ladies for that $4 than you could imagine. I can see some older gents now getting a hat and an ascot, looking like Thurston Howell the Third and capitalizing on the 3 to 1 ratio there, lol.
*Yep. That 3:1 ratio is but one reason that brought me here. Never disappoints. Cheers!*
Sadly the villages are taking over our farm lands in Sumter County. It's horrible and so many of the developers are being sneaky about it.
You cant take something unless someone cashes a check. Just saying............ Takes two parties to transfer "real" property.
@@Tomallenny so is it the homeowner's fault for buying at home there, or the developers fault for building it there in the first place?
I agree it’s sad. The county government should deny the builders. But then money talks. Seems no stopping them.
Yeah the villages are an ecological disaster, and the Everglades are such a beautiful and unique biome. And the whole thing is so creepy and dystopian too. Imo a monument to the worst aspects of this country and the Boomer generation

The Villages has a huge "Singles" population as you can well imagine. Numerous Singles Clubs that are extremely active with activities like travel, golf outings, social gatherings with food and music, softball and so much more. If you are single...The Villages is the palce for you to retire to! Honestly you would love it!
We rented in The Villages for two weeks until we closed on our house in South Florida. We did not know a thing about the rumors because we were moving out of Savannah and saw how cool this area was and the concept. We quickly got educated about the rumors lol. During our 2 weeks there we had 2 loofah sightings (4 on a car and 1 on a golf cart) of course we had to go on TikTok to learn the colors lol 😂 We also saw a golf cart with a flag. All in all the community was super cool. You literally have everything on site (doctors, lawyers, financial planning, shopping and grocery stores) all in a golf carts drive. The nightly entertainment is a cool concept and has a “ Margaritaville” vibe. Maybe when we retire in several years we’ll seriously look at this area. We will definitely drive down for dinner and entertainment until then.
Thank you for sharing!! We love hearing about people's experiences when they visit these communities.😀
You would think it was old grannies running around organizing orgies. I am a Gold Coast Dem I wont be visiting the swamps anytime soon, but have fun and dont let the skeeters bite too hard. lol.
"The nightly entertainment is a cool concept and has a “ Margaritaville” vibe" Except for the fact its 100 miles to the beach! LOL I find it impossible to believe these "single family prison camps" have managed to lute 100,000 people to move to Florida WITHOUT living within 75 miles from any beach. LOL
@@jaysantos536 lol wut? I probably wouldn't move to villages myself for various reasons, but your comment about being close to the beach is kind of weird, I live in California and there's tons of people who have been moving to the Central Valley in California for many years, away from the beaches.
Am I the only 1 that doesn’t know
What a loofah is?
Or what the rumors are ?
You didn't ask about the bowl that everyone throws their golf cart keys in, and at the end of the party, they just pick out a key at random, and that is who they are going home with for the evening. Maybe it's a small demographic, compared to the total population of the Villages, but don't let anyone tell you that there is not a large swinger community there. Loofa's and golf cart keys are just a part to it.
I hope there are separate bowls for men & women
Reminds me of the nudist lol.
I bet you the guy who gets the keys for the lady at the first clip in green lol.Imagine waking up to her after a night, alcohol black out lol
Loofahs are for people who park too far away from their cars and the keychain beep is out of range. You will notice that 90% of the cars that have loofahs are white so old people need a splash of color to find their cars when the keychain is out of range
Of course, the posters never actually participated in any of these activities themselves, and NEVER have any actual first-hand knowledge, but they've heard all about it "from a friend who works there" or "my sources tell me."
The golf cart super highways are hilarious!
They are called paths.

Too me, it's an out-of-control, overbuilt, environmental disaster for Florida. Sure - to some it's ideal - but many of those same people know very little about Florida itself. Like truly appreciating the exceptional wildlife that is here, or the fact that Florida's fresh water supply is tenuous at best, and the outcome of overuse could result in The Villages becoming one of the world's largest ghost towns ...
If they really truly believed it was ideal they wouldn't need to keep getting drunk to forget that it's not.

If you were not popular in high school and were not someone who fit into the groups, then you probably won’t like the clicks at the Villages. If you don’t like golf, maybe the rethink the Villages. And if you don’t want a small home with less space for a much higher price than where you currently are then maybe rethink the Villages. In the Villages you are paying a premium price for less space and a warm climate. And it has a high school vibe with clicks and groups hanging out together and all that…sort of you start life out in high school and you conclude it in high school. Ok, if you like high school.

23 AA meetings in TV are listed in their social groups. I’d expect 5-10 but 23!
*Out of 175,000 retired-but-active people is probably not that outrageous. Keep in mind there are a lot of high-functioning achievers here who brought their booze with them from previous lives. Their livers are not mine and not my concern. Cheers!*
We did the lifestyle stay we think we want the villages but …… still thinking 🤔 🤔🤔🤔🤔. We keep seeing what you guys find!!!
Plenty more to come! There are so many communities to explore!
Hmmm...you probably don't know what it means to say "we did the lifestyle" 🤣
@@melindatrifone5273 hmm I want to watch and maybe join in
Forgot to method all the VD, alcololics, swingers and cougars.
The rumors aren’t true, darn… that was one of the big pluses on my list😅😅😅😊
When my kid was in medical school for optometry his school had a program to send students to the villages to study the effects of STDs on the vision of older adults.
Yup, their houses devalued now by 40%.
I’m curious what the rumors are all about can anyone expound on that.?
Swingers and crazy sex parties lol. A false rumor began that the villages had the highest std rate in America
1:59 I wonder where they are from, a hot state like Az or Nevada or a rainy state like Oregon? Usually I think people want the opposite of what they have.
Research shows that we have people living in The Villages come from all walks of life and from all over the world. Interesting enough a lot of people move from the southern Florida beach areas to The Villages. Many people think that beach life is the perfect retirement life. So they retire to the beaches, then life happens, bordem sets in and the idea of activities sounds more appealing so they sell and move to The Villages. The Villages is so central that you can plan an occasional trip to the beach in a relatively short travel time. In fact there are several "Beach Clubs" that you can join where they travel to a variety of beaches all over the state of Florida. I think it's a great idea to board a bus, go have fun and return without doing any of the driving! Great way to meet people and make new friends!
Oh ya...green tank top lady. CLASSY. 😅
Enjoy your video's
My friends have lived there for about three years and love it. I have visited about four times, and each time I dislike it more. There is something unnatural about it, it´s too cookie cutter and perfect and everyone is older, everyone.
Yea,usually older folds love flocking to these places.Every time i see a village like this, its most older folks.
Well it is 55 and older lol
It’s like the movie Pleasantville.
@@GregRentschler seems very white also LOL.
Sundown town
Shit, sunup town too
Thousands of old people in the middle of NOWHERE, Florida. The ONLY reason to live in florida if you are CLOSE to the beach and this place isnt anywhere near it. Cheap land and expensive below avg houses.....
No one mentioned the wild orgies.
I live in the villages I was just here two days ago!!!
Thanks for watching, Brodie!
Oh no. You mean they have swingers? Just like in Sun City, Leisure World, and various 55+ RV parks?
Haven't seen one...been here since 2006.
@@debbiemartin6845 they just don’t let you in on it.
@@debbiemartin6845 maybe a different hairstyle - or change your wardrobe ? just suggestions
This a video TO SELL PROPERTY THERE. i HAVE FRIENDS LIVING IN THE VILLAGES AND THEY HATE IT. They are sorry they ever bought in there.
Did they say why they hate it there? I know a guy who has vacationed there and another who lives there. Both of them give you that vibe though. They love this place.
Where is the villages?
The Haagen-Dazs store it's hardly ever open
that woman in the green tank should be put in the KAREN wax museum
The blonde girl looks soooo familiar.
I agree with this man. I have no idea.
The drunk lady in the golf cart isn't a good advertisement for the Villages🙄🙄
