I think this may be my favourite complete choreo of there's, I find it really compelling to watch every time.
You asking about why groups are our favourites got me thinking & for me with Dreamcatcher I think it's the bond they have with each other that cinched it for me. They have a very "found family" vibe about them & they willingly bring their staff & Somnia's into it without hesitation. They also genuinely care about the people around them as the numerous stories from people (including other Idols) will testify to and if things don't go our way with the music shows they'll be the first to tell us to not apologise and try and make US feel better even though they've said on multiple occasions how much a win would mean to them. It's not that they don't give a fuck, it's that they give ALL the fucks, they just prioritise each other, the people around them and all of us over the other stuff and for me that is what made them my favourite group, that is what makes them special to me.
Very good points. All the members are personable, relatable and they purposely make themselves approachable. They show themselves to be real human beings when outside of performing (flaws and all), they consistently make real efforts to connect with the fandom, they are nice to EVERYBODY (like you said). If any group deserves to win and be wealthy and famous and all of that, it's people like the group members and staff of DC.

JiU being talented enough to produce her own solo on a full studio album and dedicating that entire opportunity to a song about her dog captures some of what makes this group special/attractive to me. There is so, so much talent (like, Cherry is a gorgeous song), but they as a group have a commitment to authenticity (sing live, try hard, do what we love, always push ourselves) that makes not just them, but their relationship with each other, their craft, and their fans all incredibly attractive. So I guess maybe one way to think about it is instead of trying to define it, think of the moments that make this your ult group haha.

There is this carefreeness and joy in everything they do I don't see in a lot of other groups. They give me the feeling that they are doing what they are doing because they want to and not because someone pushes them.
It feels like there is a lot of mutual respect an trust between the group and the company that is very very rare and that makes me feel very safe as a fan :)
And instead of defining themselves through hardship or "we are better/the best" they always made their friendship and bond with each other, the people around them, other idols and the fans their main identity and priority.

That does look exhausting.. and wind blows was supposed to be the hardest choreography, so they just went and one upped it with this. Wind Blows is still one of my favorite DC choreo. I enjoy their relay dances so much. You have to watch them so many times just to get it all. And yea, Abracadabra lives rent free in my head too.. it’s legend. When it comes to these outfits, I prefer the black and grey version… not a huge fan of brown myself.. though they do pull them off really well. Handong, Jiu, Siyeon, Dami and Yoohyeon’s outfits are my favorite in this style.
I am a new Insomnia and God I am just so happy I found them. They makes me indescribably happy.
Dreamcatcher have always been excellent dancers, but I think we're definitely seeing a reaction to how intensely dance-forward 4th gen has been so far. The expectations for movement in performance just aren't the same, which has to be brutal for 3rd gen vocal forward groups (which I consider Dreamcatcher to be). I'm amazed by their continued commitment to doing as much live singing as possible and lets not forget some of these poor superhero space angels are coming off of bouts of Covid. Which is all to say, stan cardio, stan Dreamcatcher.
I'm having so much fun with this comeback. Like, in terms of sheer enjoyment, this is my favorite comeback in ages. The album, the concept, the styling, the concert, the variety shows - they're killing it 🔥

I feel the same way as what you said at the end. I don't really have a solid reason why dreamcatcher are my ults and the only group that I feel this deep connection with but I just know that whenever I see them they make my day better. I could try to explain but it would be like a thesis of my incoherant ramblings of what I love about them. I don't think there's any 1 reason why but more of everything about them matches with what you love.
I'm concracktually obligated to say that we're on the exact same page on the relay dance outfits: not into brown, but the set is superb.

Awwww! I just think Dreamcatcher is neat too. 🥰 I could try to quantify my love but it would be an incoherent mess of mostly "OMG so cute!!" and "Ahhhhhh! Vocals, dance, sexy! 😭". Oh and a dash of "My love, why would you do this to me?".
My eyes are always glued on Yoohyeon in these dance practices. Her moves are so fluid.
Yooh isn't as technically skilled of a dancer as SuA/JiU/Dami, but she's evolved so much and leverages her height + fluid body rolls so well that she's an absolute joy to watch

dreamcatcher are my ults too(we have the same wifey😟😟) and i also cant rlly explain why i love them so much.the love is just there. its natural. maybe i guess i just feel a rlly strong emotional bond connection whatever you wanna call it lol. but that being said i rlly just cant express how happy they make me and how much i love them(esp siyeon notice me adore me love me marry me pls) is it just me HAHAHA

I really love a majority of group, and Dreamcatcher is one of this (actually they are my second most favorite group)
But I really can not explain WHY I-DLE is my eternal favorite they are so much reason and at the same time they are none, they are simply the one that I could never put away from my most favorite group
I don't know why but every time I saw them I just have a happier day, they make me smile at the first second of a video and they are so chaotic too

I think sometimes it's just impossible to explain why were are more connected to some people or some activities, it's just inside us we find happiness without explanation like a chimic reaction haha

i know exactly what you mean about not being able to explain why dreamcatcher is different.... i feel the same way. honestly any time i try to explain it to someone, i have to say "they just *are* different" and then show them a few MVs and everyone agrees. they're just... different. and it WORKS. i love seeing your genuine reactions to these girls, they deserve so much love

My ultimate k-pop group was/is/will always be GFRIEND and now per extension their sub-unit Viviz too. First, i like them musically, i like their musics and choreographies style and genre because it is creative, unique and just beautiful compared from any other groups. All members can be a main vocalist or a main dancer, that how talented those ladies are and they look so fun to be with their their fun personalities, also they have shown strong wills to have passed so much difficult days becoming more stronger each days and i've never saw a group be hard working like them practicing 10-12 hours and more to make the performance so perfect. They are not known as one of the best dancing group of their generation with hard choreos and perfect synchronization for nothing.
Secondly, what make me fall in love with them, so much to be my number one, is that they are just normal girls but such good human beings with good valors and with big hearts. they are humble, friendly and respectful to everyone and to mostly to their fans who they truly love. They see us Buddy and now Na.V as friends, as family and of course i don't even need to say that their close friendships with each others have made them a real family and true sisters forever, all those things are so relatable to many peoples, me included.
So it's just easy to love them, to cheer for them, to support them, to want the best for them as you would for your friends and families. That is why GFRIEND and their sub-unite VIVIZ are and will always be my ultimate favorite number one k-pop group. All that being said I can say officially that Dreamcatcher is my favorite number two k-pop group, right now.
