- Hello, and welcome to Nintendo Voice Chat Presents: Talk of the Kingdom! For the next 6 weeks, IGN's flagship Nintendo show, NVC, is getting a FULL Zelda takeover with our very special NVC: Talk of the Kingdom 6 episode mini-series!
The day has finally come, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is in our hands! In this episode, the esteemed Casey DeFreitas makes her return as she and Tom Marks give us a deep dive on their experiences with Tears of the Kingdom. Tom breaks down his review and expands on his favorite things about the game, and Casey tells you about 10 things to do as soon as you jump back into Link's adventure in Hyrule! There is SO MUCH to talk about and we can't possibly cram them all into one episode, so be sure to join us again next week for even more Talk of the Kingdom.

Cool note, Rock Octorocs will heal the durability of any weapon and even randomise its bonus. Each enemy will only do it once but reset after a blood moon. Really great for those huge OP weapons that you don't want to lose or things like the Hylian Shield

"Tears" of the Kingdom has a two-fold meaning. And it ties into the game's title logo also.

Obviously a frontrunner for GOTY, though I'm wondering what else this year will bring as far as big contenders. I'm hoping FFXVI will be great but cautiously optimistic.
Looking forward to ff16, love the series and they're putting alot into it. Zelda and Final Fantasy, what a year!
Starfield is the other game I'm really looking forward to. It could either be amazing or janky, or both.
Square hasn't been the same ever since that jointed with Enix. They've been putting out mediocre games for some years now. There's are no tittles in squarenix arsenal that can go up against the Behemoth, the G.O.A.T, Zelda! I'm sorry! TOTK will crush everything this year.
Bigger question for me-is this the best year of gaming?
Not sure what GOTY even means. To me it's probably game of the decade... for many reasons but mostly because nothing else is like it at all. That to me makes it super special even if critics don't give it some badge for technical reasons.
You kept saying “OMG NO SPOILERS GUISE!” and then go in to great detail about a very specific ‘running gag’ that plays out throughout your adventure and how super funny it is and how glad you were to experience it…

Weird comment, they've literally played it for over a hundred hours in the review alone let alone the guides team, as mentioned multiple times.
Tom had over 100 hours into it for the review. Definitely put in the work. I'm only like 10 hours in and I'm loving it a lot.

Once you game on modern hardware (eg PS5 at 60FPS), everything on the Switch looks absolutely terrible. TotK is no different. How does a AAA masterpiece in 2023 look so awful? 😢
Alternatively, many of us game on modern devices like ps5 or XSX and can play a game like TOTK without minding the graphics at all.
