When I first put this record on I didn't know what to expect. I just startet to grin from ear to ear and couldn't stop. This is imo the best new album this year so far. It plays nonstop in my house.
I got ASTRONOMICAL BLUE VINYL of Jack White album. Beautiful color. Of course it’s a important record. It’s brave and unique. In the last 20 years that is exactly what is missing. Hope he can inspire other to do music from artistic point of view. Not just to sell. With idea “people is going to like it “ , it’s boring. End the next Jack White coming in July. I hope it’s going to be different and exciting in a new way. Cheers Michael
Some digital albums are pretty good and many contemporary artists are recording in digital but I do prefer analog and I am definitely buying this album right after I roll a joint .
I haven't picked this up yet on vinyl, but absolutely love the record. Thank you for going against what "those online" are saying - I can't help but wonder if those opinions are entirely shaped by the news that the album was recorded and mixed digitally, and not formed by - oh, I suppose - actually listening to the record!
Even though its a public holiday here today in Australia for Good Friday, my local Indy record store is open. I am heading in to get this and the new RHCP album.
Michael, I also received that email and found it a little insulting to "please spend $6.99 more." Why did I feel that way? Because I also bought the Vault version and to my eyes, it looks almost the same as the indie exclusive (also blue vinyl) and that indie exclusive costs much less (about $10 less.) The Vault cover is hand silkscreened but you can't see the difference compared to a standard cover. The 3 inserts are in all of the editions - so they are not "exclusive" or "special." I feel a little ripped off with the Vault packaging.... and then an email asking for more money for a meaningless chart? No! But let's talk about the music - it's a great release that will get a lot of spins in our house.
Off topic i know, but is anyone going for the new limited (4000) Grateful Dead 24LP Complete Lyceum London, 1972? I have tried to post a link to it but CZcams doesn't seem to like links in comments. It's on the official Dead site. It's expensive at $550, plus the import duty to the UK will be high. I am on the fence, the Europe '72 Dead Tour was legendary. I have a few CD sets from the shows and they are all great, but the cost is making my eyes water and I'm retired now, so big spending is a thing of the past!
First of all, thank you for your interesting videos. Like them a lot. But regarding the new Jack White Album, I can't share your opinion: The album (apart from the last song) is a complete failure. Mr. White wants a lot, sure, but all parts don't fit together. So it is an desperate attempt to be original that ultimately leads to a meaningless hodgepodge of half-baked songs. Only my two cents. Greetings from Berlin.

I love that matte/semi-matte finish on record album jackets. Wish more albums would use that.

Third man has been the pioneer, got them since the beginning. I like Lazaretto, probable still available. It plays from center to edge on side a
usually dont have a lot of high expectations for Jacks solo work (love the raconteurs and dead weather), but this album is amazing
