I was raised on the Orashi River as a small boy. My father was an American medical doctor in the 1960s at the Baptist Hospital at Joinkrama. I have many happy memories of traveling by canoe, swimming and fishing in the Orashi - but most of all I remember the remarkable and friendly people who lived and worked along the river. The Orashi River and it’s people remain some of my richest memories. - Ray Norman (American born, but but a son of the Orashi)
