- In my video, I show you how to change the Epson-ET 8550 from an inkjet printer to a DTF printer using pigment ink. This video covers the conversion, installing the Epson-ET 8550 Printer Driver - Installing CADlink, the first print, using DTF Powder, curing the image, and heat pressing the t-shirt. Ty so much! It is was a lengthy process but I tried to get everything in there
If you are using DTF right away, you don't need to cure. just press it after apply the powder.
If you want to store DTF for later, you have to cure the powder. :D

Linda I was the same way but I was also tired of being limited. So I finally bit the bullet and I love it. You should really try it!

Do you need any type of box for the waste ink. I did see in one of his videos where he had a tube running from the inside of the printer. He never mentioned that you need a waste tank. Do you have a waste tank?

Just an FYI you dont have to purchase the extra warranty but you do have the epson warranty for one year. IF your printer stops working find an"Authorized Epson Dealer" by you an be honest. Explain to them what you did and they can return it for you and replace it. I promise. The tech charged me 45.00 to remove ink for me and I put back the parts I took out got replacement no problem. Just a little hope y'all. Good luck blessings

You can use any RIP software, but Cadlink is the cheapest

Hello, thanks for your video, it helped me a lot when I bought my printer and now I want to print an image but it won't let me upload the saved file, it is an image with a phrase that I added to it, I tried in canvas, powepoint and I don't know how.. ..

There are different types of DTF powder depending on what outcome you want. They have fine, medium, and coarse. The one I'm using feels like the fabric

Seems we should be using eye protection and respirator or dusk mask with DTF powder. Not good getting the fine airborne particles in our eyes and lungs.
what should i do if my colors dont come out right? the color is suppose to be purple and gold but it comes out red and yellow. I printed the one you did and it came out fine
I would recommend checking your color settings. In my video, I walk through the settings that I selected and I always get the exact color

Hows the feel of the print? Similar to vinyl, screen print transfers, or something in between?
The fine dtf powder feels soft and close to the garments feel.
I have this printer and I have printed about 50 regular copies with the ink that came with the printer. Am I able to remove the ink to use as a dtf printer now?
I've heard that this is No-No. I would Google the best way to do this if I were you. I heard the colors never come out right and I don't want to mislead you.
The white is not printing on the back for me. What should I do?
I would recommend a print head alignment, you might have to so it a few times. Clean your print head docking station with some alcohol using a paper towel. You might also need to do the shoe shine method underneath the print head. There are several videos on youtube

I am not familiar with that code as I have never gotten that before. You might want to google search that error code with the printer type and see what you find.
I just 8550 couple month ago. Now it give me 031006 error.

What will keep the white layer from printing? I follow the video and that is where I'm having an issue.

@@dorisedwards58 it would smudge sometimes 3 inches into the print it would smudge in different locations but I’ve raised the print head to its highest point and I’ve put blue tape along the length as well so far so good for now I’ve taken a break to calm my nerves

Please use gloves a mask and goggles when using that powder, it’s dangerous

TFS... I'm trying to decide if I'm getting the 8550 or xp1500... I have an l1800 and it's the ciss tank😡 a hot mess...
So my question is: do you have to worry about shaking the white so it doesn't clog? And do you need a waste tank? Thanks again.... oh and that image where did you get it from🔥... and the boxes are you doing a video for them. 1st time here and loving how you're very detailed❤
