- It was storming outside and I decided to walk my way through a First Person AoE2 Battle vs three AIs! This was a hilarious mess, I said and did many dumb things but I figured you guys needed to see this. This was a lot more intense than I expected, enjoy this journey with me!

It would be really cool if you could multiplayer this with multiple players on each team, especially if, when you died, you'd 'respawn' in the next unit your civ created.
This would be really fun if multiple players could co-op control the same color/"town" together
The actual AOE 2 also allows for that

@@noahkessler4930 If two players select the same colour, they will play the togueter, and it actually works. My brother trolled me once like that, and deleted my tc and villagers 11
@@noahkessler4930 In all my years of playing AOE 2 I actually only found out about this recently, I think if you scroll over the team colors it tells you? Pretty sure it says it there. Still it's neat finding out new things about such an old game
Reading up on it, sounds kinda buggy, not sure if the bugs have been ironed out or not (reading posts from 2016)
It was a feature that was added with hd I think.

I think I'd give myself anxiety if I could see my own HP bar.
That would make for a great horror short story. You can see your HP bar floating above your head, and you're extremely low for no reason you can think of, and nothing you do gets you any HP back.

T90...I think AI players simply don't do anything in Forest Nothing.
And the buggy villagers will make you go crazy I swear XD. We tried it in Multiplayer and we freaked out :-D

This is actually the type of game I envisioned in my head. A town building game in first person. RTS and first person elements. Idk if it would work well but it's what I wanted

That was my initial impression as well.
I love how the buildings are inflated like bouncy castles.
It would be nice to make the economy automated ( like an AI playing) and if you want you could make changes of course, this will free a lot of time to do other things with your "hero"
once multiplayer comes out for this it will be truly epic
ikr! Imagine 3-4 people playing for the same player, you can have generals and commanders and so on
I'm hyped for the stream in a few hours!
Also, a neat idea could be to set a different hotkey for the Attack command - use right and leftmosue buttons to command your units like you do in AOE II and use space bar to swing your sword. This way you avoid swinging your blade when you don't need it. Just thoughts on how to improve it further.

Dude, as someone who grew up playing AoE and CRPGs like Might and Magic this is fucking sick.
Just like Aoe 2 DE, small tree mod is desperately needed.

I was watching viper and now i discovered you, great channel, you are a cool guy.
It's like a dream you have after playing AoE for 8 hours straight.
Have you ever seen Nuclear Dawn? It's a RTS mixed with a multiplayer FPS. Meaning, you choose at least one teammate to act as the builder, and the rest of the team advances and takes territory. The nice thing is, when in RTS mode (basically you hide in the Main base) you see the classic top down view. So when you place a building it's not nearly as awkward. I'm not sure how this mod is made, but I'd like to see that functionality. You'd end up with a team of players who are in the army, and a single player (Viper/MDL/Fat Dragon) who are laying down the base, and producing units for you to switch to their POV. I think that would make for a very interesting game mode. It would be great for community games.

Units control groups would be nice imo
This would be sick if it had a battlezone type control system. It'd be a bit clunkier because bz had fewer unit types, smaller armies, 1 resource and only 2 unit categories (offense and defense) but hear me out.
There'd be a visible menu in the HUD to guide you through this. Using your keyboard, 1 selects all infantry, 2 selects archers, 3 cav, 4 siege etc. Having selected, say, archers, you could further select 1 for crossbows, 2 for skirms, 3 for cav archers, and having selected xbows you could pick individual units.
From base menu there's a key (say 5) that gives you vills, and they could be subdivided into idle, builder, lumberjack etc.
6,7,8,9,0 could give production buildings and if there are ever more options than there are number keys (like if you have 20 knights), something like tab could let you go to another "page" of units.
I think battlezone was a really well executed first person RTS and it'd be worth looking at how it managed to streamline the command system so it could be managed from the frontline.

That's awesome, sounds like I need to download the latest .zip.
I'd say this looks pretty damn interesting, however it would be fun to have almost like a production AI that works with you. Set a building to producing a certain unit and attacking the enemy base. Obviously make it a mega late game tech or something so that early game and even mid-game tactics still have to be used, but it would allow the player to focus more on the combat later on than having to return from battle to reseed farms or renew lumbercamps
It would be cool if you had some sort of flying mount so you could have somewhat of a view of your base and map from the air but still have the 3d aspect.

The units are going to need some amount of AI for this to be viable. Or the system needs to be more like Rise of Nations/Rise of Legends.
On another note, wasn't there an old game where something like this happened? Tribes or something? One player was in the standard RTS control, and everyone else was the units?
