    I never had confidence in the big named brands until I tried to move an ancient second hand Craftsman . When the tow truck moved it he ripped it over. My Cornwell dealer gave me lot for the wrecked box for my first professional toolbox

    I have a 68 inch epic for the price the draws should be deeper and the top which is my socket drawer should come all the way out it’s annoying and time consuming when you have to move sockets around to get to the sockets in the back plus they scratch too easily from your finger nails the swivel casters are the best features overall it’s not a bad box I have a 72 by 30 extreme tool box which is almost as good and doesn’t scratch as easily as the epic

    I got an 84” epiq work centre last year the locker makes the thing the size of a small house all in. Great box but if only the back of the draws came all the way to the front of the closed draw. One thing that really bugs me. 3 times the price of the maczimizer i had probably twice the storage. The metals not as heavy plating but its defiantly stronger with the bracing though. That said with the power draws etc as a uk tech its something special my mac box wasnt and when your using it everyday you can’t be mad

  • @teamgmotorsports
    @teamgmotorsports Před 4 lety

    If each slide is 16 stone, that drawer would have the strength to support 64 stone (what ever a stone is, lol) because it has 4 slides! The small drawer would have been 32 stone as it has only 2 slides...

    • @NICKTHETOOLUK
      @NICKTHETOOLUK  Před 4 lety

      ANTIVNM a pair of slides supports 16St or 101.60KG, so 2 pairs of slide will support 32 St 👍

    Nick the tool, you kind of told a lie on this video, MAC doesn't put the center casters on anything under 75" width, they also call their top hutch a hutch so they wouldn't have to fight with Snap-on in court and no matter what you choose to call it it's nothing but wasted space that y'all sucker people into buying instead of getting a top chest.
    By the way the sheet metal Mac uses is 10 gauge and 14 gauge compared to Snap-on 15 and 16 gauge so before you start popping your gums remember to tell the truth which is there both well made cabinets.
    If you have to put down your competition to sell your products your not that good of a salesman❗

    • @NICKTHETOOLUK
      @NICKTHETOOLUK  Před 4 lety +2

      Charles Abbott: Thanks for commenting Charles, I’m glad you took time to view the full video. With regards to the centre caster I wasn’t referring to Mac, as I don’t really see many of their boxes on my patch, but thanks for explaining which of the Mac sizes do have that centre caster for extra strength. I wan’t putting down the competition purely explaining the differences. With regards to the comment on the hutch/work station riser, it was a bit of banter, if I offended you then I apologise. Hopefully you can still enjoy watching the videos 🤙

    • @callumyocius2958
      @callumyocius2958 Před 4 lety +1

      I think those 2 little jabs were actually directed at Matco. Matco used to put a divider in their top drawer for the very reason he explained, but as far as I can tell they no longer do. They also put center casters on their 3 bay boxes like Mac. I did not know that Mac used such strong steel though so that's interesting, I really wish you could get a Macsimizer with the 3 top drawers instead of just the 2, though.

    • @charlesabbott5563
      @charlesabbott5563 Před 4 lety +1

      @@callumyocius2958 yes I'm a fan of having 2 big top drawers and 1 shallow top drawer for wrenches or as our European friends call them spanners🙂
      But I also like MAC'S top chest not a fan of anyone's top hutch cause most I've seen end up looking like a teenager's bedroom, a total mess. 😂

    • @NICKTHETOOLUK
      @NICKTHETOOLUK  Před 4 lety

      Callum Yocius, thank you for your comments. With regards to the steel, the steel used in Snap-on boxes is first grade virgin steel, it’s also is a high carbon alloy which means it’s really tough so it doesn’t need to be any thicker. The design, and the box having the highest number of spot welds mean its the strongest box on the market, by a quite a large margin. 👍
