    This really hits home for me. My first glove was a Roy Smalley glove and it's still in the family. 40 years later, my Nephew currently uses it.

    It's amazing what you accomplished restoring your baseball glove. I tried repairing my Wilson a2000 after a dog took a chunk out of the heal of my glove. My repair did not go well. My glove has never been the same, but after seeing your video is amazing what you accomplished with no leather working experience. I started my second restoration on my Wilson a2000 from the 70s. I hope I restoration turns out as well as yours did. Thanks for the encouragement through your video.

    Just got my grandfathers mac Gregor! Going to condition it with some bick 4 right now! Can't wait to see how it comes out. He used it in softball when he was younger and taught me how to play baseball with it. I even got to play softball with him. But I finally got it from him. But it's been sitting in his bag for years! At least 10 years probably longer. Laces are good just needs a good cleaning and oiling. I have a pretty nice easton but I'll be using this one for sure. I'm coaching my sons baseball team now which is the same team I played on as a kid..we have the same head coach and it's the team my grandfather helped coach when I was on it. Good times and memories. Can't wait to see how the my grandfathers glove comes out. Wish I could go all out but a nice oiling will do!

    That was awesome. I’ve been watching tons of glove rebuilding videos hoping to learn about the process in order to choose a reputable person to send my childhood glove to and perform the same level of restoration. It’s your fault that I’m now contemplating doing it myself. The grommets are what sold me. Everyone says they don’t reinstall them and you clearly showed how straight forward they are.

    Didn’t quite get the stitching technique you used for the interior palm. As for the binding did you do the same thing or did you just use two needles going back and forth?
    Thank you for sharing your work. Fantastic!!

    • @rockstickdirt
      @rockstickdirt  Před 2 lety

      Yep, same back and forth method for the palm. It was basically just trial and error. A few different times i had to take the stitching i did back out then re try it a different way. Once i got it how i liked it, i kept it.

      @@rockstickdirt thank you! It's the lamb leather hyde I didnt know. I just seen it had bumps all over it but thought it was a thin piece leather (cow hyde). This definitely helps because my grandfathers glove the part that goes across the top of the wrist is all beat up. It's all ripped where the logo is and staggley so I need to somehow fix that and the method you used is perfect! Appreciate it man
