    What’s the trimmer for the lacing and why did you use it on the lacing for this glove? Also how often do you need to reglue the palm? Where do you get the glue and whats it called? Great video! So helpful.

      It is a sliver. I got it from Tandy leather. I don't believe they sell it anymore. I get the adhesive from USA sports direct. There is no exact time, some last longer then others. It's more a feel/visual. It your palm/pocket feels loose or if you notice it's not stuck together anymore.

      What is the point of the sliver? I’m only asking because I’ve never seen them before. That looks cool.

      Its a skiver. Typo on the previous answer. It thins the lace for the palm and heel lace. Makes for a proper fit and more comfortable feeling on the hand.

    What would a full makeover like this cost typically and what would be the expected turn around time? My sons DP15 pretty much needs all the same work and we're debating just getting a new glove.

    When would you consider dying this glove to restore the color? Is there a type of dye you would recommend

    • @DurhamGloveRepair
      @DurhamGloveRepair  Před rokem

      I rarely dye gloves. I just clean and condition the leather to bring it back to life.

    @guyfox3853 Před 3 lety +1

    I’m curious as to the stiffness of this glove after you restored it, is it stiff as new or is there still signs of wear and tear as far a break-in goes

    • @DurhamGloveRepair
      @DurhamGloveRepair  Před 3 lety +1

      It is not as stiff as a new glove, but it is significantly stiffer than before the restoration.

    Which laces did you thin? All of them? What do you recommend for those without that machine? What is the reason? Taking off weight and ease of threading? U Recommend using laces that come pre-thinned? Thanks!

    • @DurhamGloveRepair
      @DurhamGloveRepair  Před 2 lety +1

      I skive the palm and heel lace it if for comfort and proper fit. If you look at any glove straight from the factory the palm lace will always be thinner. You can get the lace skived when bought from buyfastpitchgloves.com

    • @DurhamGloveRepair
      @DurhamGloveRepair  Před 3 lety

      You can add palm adhesive and try to pound it flat with a mallet. But once a bubble has formed, it is very difficult to get out.
