    Jan/Feb it's best to move upriver toward the Falls, Devil's Hole typically is the money spot. Lewiston gets quite slow by the time the water temps drop into the mid to upper 30s. Never been a fan of fishing that deep with slip floats, makes the hookset a little trickier at times. The only drawback of fishing Devil's is the walk back up all those concrete steps.

    Just curious what size colville reel you use? Been thinking about getting one.

      For the big water and heavy gear I use a 5.95. I just ordered a 5.35 for smaller tributaries where I use lighter floats, etc. the smaller size will spin easier.

      That’s a Shimano Compre. A little less backbone than the Fenwick but he’s getting the hang of it. Tight lines!

      Thanks! The greatest number of lakers arrive in November but the season for them is closed at that time. Late March can also be very good and the season is open. Tight lines!
