    After lots of paddle trips, overnighters and a long packrafting trip in Lapland it is time to review the Anfibio Rebel 2K - the packraft I have used on all these trips in the past six months. In this in-depth Video I show the features and limitations of the Rebel 2K, explain why I think it is a great packraft for beginners and people who look for one packraft which can do it all, and why it is for me the ultimate Adventure Packraft!

    Informative and even, where intended to be so, funny.
    The open tubes seem to be the best thing about this boat. Next, of course, comes the reduced weight.
    In terms of handing, the packraft seems to be all over the place in the absence of a skeg; and it is less reliable than an Intex Challenger K1 or K2, which can definitely take more abuse (despite the fact that either of them is made from cheaper material). Speaking of cheap, an Intex kayak is eight to ten times less expensive than the Anfibio REBEL 2K.
    A combination of the two boats would be the best thing to have: a cheap, enduring, light boat with open tubes for most convenient storage.

    • @HendrikMorkel
      @HendrikMorkel  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks! The handling is like most packrafts and can be improved with the skeg :)
      Now a K2 weighs packed short of 15 kg and costs with shipping et al. $550 which isn’t that much cheaper than a Rebel 2K. I also think that the Intex boats would find the Finnish rocks of Lapland equally troublesome, but it might also be that they don’t 😆 But alone the weight of the K1 or K2 makes them not really a good option for a backpacking raft.

    Eine schöne und wirklich ausführliche Vorstellung des Anfibio REBEL 2K. 👍 Es ist schon Wahnsinn, was heute mit modernen Techniken und Materialien alles möglich ist. Vor 10-20 Jahren hätte man nicht einmal im Traum daran gedacht, dass man ein Paddelboot in seinem Rucksack transportieren kann. 😳

      @HendrikMorkel  Před 3 lety +1

      Vielen Dank! Und ja, in letzter Zeit hat sich einiges getan, und die Packrafts sind kleiner, kompakter und besser auf dem Wasser geworden! Ob das so wohl weiter geht?!

  • @hr3178
    @hr3178 Před 3 lety +1

    Danke für die Review! "Verfolge" jetzt schon seit einiger Zeit das Rebel 2k, weil es einfach auf dem Papier ein exzellenter Allrounder zu sein scheint. Mir macht aber dann trotzdem die Robustheit und auch die nicht ganz unproblematischen Taschen (die ich eigentlich von der Theorie sehr gut finde) etwas Sorgen. Die Strecken die ich vorhabe zu fahren sind über lange Strecken von Regenwald umgeben, da kann man nicht mal schnell rauswandern, sondern muss teilweise vielleicht noch 5-8km weiter auf dem Fluss, um dort irgendwo rauszukommen. Aber, für die geplanten Touren muss man auch meist mindestens 5-10km überhaupt zum Startpunkt laufen, bzw. teilweise halt 15-20km vom Endpunkt. Da ist natürlich jedes Kilo entscheidend. Dank Corona habe ich ja jetzt (leider) noch etwas Bedenkzeit...
    Dein Kanal ist jedenfalls abonniert.

    • @HendrikMorkel
      @HendrikMorkel  Před 3 lety

      Hei Holger, Danke für den Kommentar! Die Robustheit ist nur bei wirklich harten Gesteinen und Niedrigwasser ein Problem - im Dschungel (wo soll es den hingehen?!) sollte das weniger ein Problem sein. Auch die Taschen sind OK und Unproblematisch - es sei den Du öffnest Sie wenn das Boot aufgepumpt ist - dann gibt es ein Problem 😁!

      @HendrikMorkel  Před 3 lety

      Hi Alex, I’m 175 cm tall and the inside length of the Rebel 2K is 127 cm - maybe you can sit down against a wall at home, stretch out your legs and measure from the heel to the wall to see what length you have? There’s Anfibio packrafts available with longer inside lengths if this one is too short 🙂

    • @HendrikMorkel
      @HendrikMorkel  Před 3 lety

      Thanks Rob! You can strap a bike to the front of the Rebel 2K, but there are other Anfibio packrafts available (like the Delta MX) which are better suited to that - they're a bit longer and so are more comfortable for sitting in it with a bike. Have a look at the Anfibio website: www.packrafting-store.de/Packrafts/Anfibio-packrafts/Anfibio-Delta-MX::735.html

      @HendrikMorkel  Před 3 lety +1

      Hei :) By two persons you mean two adults or one adult and a child?
      For sea water, lakes and rivers the Rebel 2K is great and where I have used it, I just don’t think you could fit two adults comfortably for long trips in there. An adult and a small child would be fine, but for anything 2 Persons I’d take a larger packraft.
