- The Optimist is the eleventh album by rock band Anathema, released on June 9, 2017 through Kscope. The album follows the concept of the band's 2001 release A Fine Day To Exit.
This, Springfield, and Endless Ways carry this album beautifully. You can tell the mood changes of the album are highlighted in these songs; Endless Ways powerful vocals and strings, Springfield's melodic drums and distant vocals, and of course the eerie intensity of Wildfires. What a terrific release by Anathema!
Leaving it Behind was also very impressive...

The Young and the Restless brought me here.
It's experience. Being in a band for almost their entire lives, drugs, youth, getting old, losses, teverything changes with time and it affects your composition more than classes. If you compare this album with Alternative 4 you will conclude that both are Anathema, but today they can do things with more maturity.

Back when you weren't "the optimists" you said "it's never too late" at the end of (A simple mistake.) It seems that you guys have inner conflicts.

Anatoly Sergey not doom metal. weather System and we're here because we're here are my favorite Albums. I only started listening to this so i cant form an opinion yet. But they let the female sing too many Songs. I dont like her voice. And the Lyrics here aren't impressive.
They're not doing better or worse and they never did better or worse before this album.. to me, Anathema always did their best no matter what genre they did.. people should evolve with the band instead of complaning.. or just listen to other bands...
