I started playing Osu when my friend told me about this game. Me and My Friend started racing each other who was first 500k,400k,300k. He stopped actively playing and now im stuck at 100k😂
im 50k and ive been playing for 1.5 years but my skill is around top 4k i can hit rasputin jumps and firewall or firelight streams but i cant play pp camps cuz theyre boring and it takes too many retries to set a play
at first I was subconscious about how much further you were than me because we both have 1 year in osu, but after checking our playtimes I felt that I was improving at a good pace because you have 3x the playtime that I do

i'm now almost 2 years into osu, and to be brutally honest, i was so addicted with farming that i had a period of where i started to cheat just to see my rank rise. pretty stupid and i got deservingly restricted. I kept playinf actively, although it has been offline of course. Being unable to gain pp made me reconsider my decisions and just changed my mindset. I got unrestricted shortly after my my first anniversary, so it was around April 2021. Once I was unrestricted, I was a totally different player. I preferred playing long, consistency based maps and started working on my streaming ability. Of course, since my profile was reset, I started farming again to see where I would land and if I would've actually improved, and the most impressive thing has been the fact that over 3 months of being restricted, I was able to not only play on the level that I've cheated myself up to, but even surpass it. Back then, 5 Digit was around 3600pp. And I got restricted at 80k. However, after only a week, I was back at 80k. Playing for months with the sore goal of just getting better in mind actually helped out a lot more than what i've done for the past year at that point. And that was when I decided to stop farming. I would occasionally try to beat my top play, but most of my time went into simple improvement of fundamentals. Now, fast forward to January 2022: I still lack a bit of aim, but it has improved overall. My streaming ability improved to the point of being able to deathstream 150bpm, 160 if warmed up and playing 180bpm streams to a certain degree. And in terms of top plays - I choked a few 300s until now. 260pp for my top play. Overall, a very good recovery in terms of my mindset, and I'm happy with what i've achieved. And after all of that, I am now sitting at 64k, trying to be a part of the community by being an active tournament player and host. My next match is actually in 12 hours from right now, so I'm looking forward to that one. To everyone who's seeing that - don't give in to any numbers. Your rank is irrelevant. What is most important is that you play the game in a way you have the most fun with. If you have certain goals, take your time with those, as patience heavily pays off. Good luck on your journey c:
You're already 64k in two years? That's damn impressive. I remember reaching my peak rank of 70k 3-ish years ago, now I'm at ~130k. Idc about my rank though. I'm clearly better than what I were when I was 70k back then. I still suck at streams but I'm able to decently stream 160bpm. Never give up and have fun!
@@ominoussage Yup, it's insane to me how fast it went. After being unrestricted, I farmed to be somewhere around 83k and then I stopped, being around there for a while and simply playing for fun and improving different skillsets & joining tournaments. Actually, I didn't even plan to go further than that, but a friend signed me up for a team tournament for his team, however the range was 30k - 70k. So I was forced to farm and I shot a bit over it for safety measures. Now I am back to improving, currently working on my Stamina, Speed and High AR reading. In general, I am mostly ignoring my rank and I only try to push for a new top play every now and then, like every month or two, to see what I am capable of. But I've found my fun in playing a bit more competetive. Everyone has a way to enjoy the game themselves, I found mine, and I hope others will as well :3

I got osu around 5 months ago, and didnt really get into it. In a month, I climbed from struggling to 3* to being able to complete 5* and reached 400k on the ranks. This inspired me to keep grinding :)
Rank really drove me to play the game and it was ultimately the thing that made me stop. Coming back to the game 2 years after I stopped making it my life, I found that just playing more fun maps and not going for pp or fcs was way more fun and got me to start playing again.
Ai no sukima is this exactly except so much worse you can't stop choking the end you can literally choke it 20 times in a row then segment the ending in the editor and instantly hit it then go back to the actual map and continue to choke
I always wanted to play osu since 2019 because of all the videos I've been recommended online. Took me 3 whole years before getting a laptop, I got to up to 350k after 6 whole months of playing mouse. Keep up the grind people!

I just transferred to tablet like 5 days ago and i was able to beat my first 6 star and fc a 4 star. currently in the 300k mark. keep grinding everyone! most importantly if u start getting frustrated just take a break!
You've convinced me! Always loved the way this game looked and have been watching osu! Videos for a long time now. Never had the money to get a proper desktop. Yesterday I got myself a very slow windows 7 desktop but it's able to run osu! Always thought I would never be good at it but seeing this progression is enough for me! Time to make an account :D
Its almost been two years and you're already doing these imformative videos about specific beatmaps, history of tournaments, theory videos and just the general history of osu. The amount of effort that you put into reaearching and making those videos is outstanding and phenomenal thank you for joining the osu community and even making content for it as well. I hope you keep on grinding in both the game and the content, im even more curious about the future of osu in general now.
@@ruin4220 before switching to tablet I was able to fc a 2,5*, and since I switched I improved a lot, took me less than a week to get used to it and less than a month to fc a 4,3* map

I just started osu like maybe 8 days ago after getting inspiration from a streamer. I still have a hard time playing 1-2 stars but I still try my best and improve and sometimes use mods on songs. :D This vid inspires me a lot!

I've been playing this game for 1 year and it has been a long jurney even if I'm not the best player I feel like being part of this comunity is enough. I just beated my last goal for this year (98% acc) and started thinking about new goals and challenges for myself. I'll keep enjoing the game for a long time, wish me luck on my journey.
I’m glad, I thought I was honestly improving at a slow rate when I started the game, I had no idea just how fast I actually was. It’s been 4 months since I made my account, and I have a couple of 200pp plays and good acc, I guess seeing the pros in the 1 - 4 digit range clouded me, I’m doing better than I thought.
I am playing for around a year now as well. Went to rank 70k on my 7th month, then my 2k playcount per month became something like 500. Ever since, I touch the game for maybe half an hour every other game. No farming, just vibing. The grind was fun, but it was getting frustrating, just playing chill stream maps like this is more fun to me. Osu is a game for the long run. Rushing will kill the joy you would otherwise get and would propably hinder your abilities in most basic skillsets. That’s why I appreciate how you’re taking it easy and not playing DT and 1-2 farm all the time. I wish you the best of luck in your osu journey
Just started my journey 2 months ago, these videos are a real inspiration. I feel like I'm at the brink of touching 4* but I just can't reach it yet. I went into this game with a little more knowledge so at the moment I'm focused on getting beatmap medals rather than farming PP. Of coarse I've been enjoying the game a lot and switched to tablet far sooner than a normal person should but I can't wait to see my results by the end.
Very nice! I’ve kind of done what you’ve done and mostly just play streamy maps now (first started barely being able to stream 150-160 early 2021 to death streaming 170-180 and streaming up to 210 now.) ofc I lost all my farming abilities lol. My aim isn’t great anymore.
I feels like streaming skill are more important than aim , bcs in order to pass higher star map there are a lot of fast short stream or burst n for someone like me that can only do 170bpm is frustrating because I just can't keep up with the speed and I've been playing for over 2 years still stuck at the same speed
@@Jitliung Yeah streaming is pretty important for higher star maps because this is really a beat game in the end. Everyone is able to catch on to the aim part pretty easily but not everyone is with streams. Took me a solid 4 months into the game with some extreme grinding of about 5 total days of play time to finally beat my first 9 star by cheesing it because it had insane streams... Free medal!
Had a friend I use to play with all the time for like 4 months those were the best times for me, then he started playing other games and we had a falling out so i stopped playing osu frequently cause it was boring without him. For about 2 years I’ve hardly played osu. Recently though I’ve been getting into it again and picking up back at low 5*. It’s inspiring to see someone motivated to play osu! And have fun with it, lowkey I kinda wanna play now.
You took a really good route when improving! That is something I rarely see with new players and it was something I also struggled with back then. Now I'm in a state where my account is underranked to the point that playing in multi raises my rank, I need to work on my consistency and seeing this gave me a nice motivation boost.
I started around the same time frame and I can confidently say, your work ethics just blows me away. Started around 2020 as well but to this day, only achieved two fc on 3.4* maps
videos like these make me realize how fast not only others, but myself too can improve. I started 4 months ago (March 2022, currently July 2022) and i have reached the higher ladder of 6 digit, with my rank being 321k at the time. i main hardrock and although i have A LOT to work on still, my skill set isn't bad for someone who has a lot less playtime than most people in higher 6 digit.

I've started playing in 2016, playing very inregulary. I still don't know what pp or pp farming is. But honestly I don't care, I just play titles I like and my goal is to beat them on hard. I'm pretty competitive in other games, but not in osu, which I'm happy about.

OH MY GOD. no, mizuoto to curtain top dif is such a cursed map for me, I hate it. I have a 91% fc on it after like a few attempts, but to this day I can not refc it, and have *3* 98%+ acc chokes on it
i’ve played for around 15 months actively, cause i’ve had an account for about 2.5ish years, i just never played, and i’ve made it to 55k! i got my first 300pp yesterday which i was really pumped about..
i remember playing osu just because i found a challenge vid maybe even a 1v1 and in a year i was 4 digit with 2 500pp chokes but that was all with like 50k total playcount made me realize damn im addicted
Man, at first I noticed that u were single tapping, but later on in the video I noticed you learned to alternate and continued to become godly at the game. For some reason it’s really hard for me to get used to so I’m stuck around the 6 star area 💀💀 I’ll get it eventually
Hello n3rdiness! Some tips that will help you! Make sure to drop the shoulder and tense up in high BPM streams and jumps! You find it easier that way! Love the progression you made to your video. - From a 6 digit who does know much
I have been playing for 3 years and still a 400k though, maybe because I just playing for fun (no farming, try hard, fc..), seeing this video make me realize how motivation deeply affect your improvement. If I was serious enough i think i would be 5 digit now XD
11 days in and just hit 6 digit ranking! The adrenaline rush from slowly playing harder and harder maps makes me so addicted. Can't wait to see where I am a year from now as well! People keep telling me to switch to tablet, but I really want to see how far I can get with a mouse! Update (January 2022) : Rank 600k hit hard wall. Plan to keep going at it, but more casual.
That’s really a nice improvement! I have been playing osu for a year ( well I started playing 20.11 so I still have 4 days ) and my current rank is 76k but currently I just full practice stream maps and not focusing on getting pp, because I much prefer stream maps then jumpy, pp or tech maps
im the same as you i have 17 days playtime and im 45k but my skill is around 5k i think cuz i can hit 10* jumps and firelight streams and bookmaker tech weird patterns when im at my peak
Thanks for uploading this! I downloaded the game in 2015 and didn’t really start playing until 2018. That was still sort of on and off until I started setting goals and more seriously wanting to improve since around this time last year, so I started posting on this channel as a sort of video diary. It’s really nice to see other people doing the same kind of documentation. It’s honestly hard to truly understand how much you’ve improved until you really delve into the history of your play to make a recap like this. Hope this really helps motivate you to improve further and that you drown in pp next year lol

I have thoughts about quiting osu, but when i saw this video it made me think like "Damn, i will never see my self being good if i quit rn" So i came to a conclusion that i will play and grind till the moment i say "Damn, this is how far i got"
I thought the same thing when I started osu mania. I'm like gosh I'd look so cool if I could play like Jakads (my first exposure was his insane blastix riotz play). I'm part of the small group of players who play 10 key mania. It's a huge flex kek.
Don't feel bad about not being able to read HD on its own I can personally only read it when I have another mod on aswell, whether that be DT or HR depends on how I'm feeling, fast fingies or fast wrist
Wow I can't believe I spent 26 minutes to watch a complete stranger's osu journey. Nevertheless, this was a great find. My mindset when I started was different as I only started when I glazed over my friend saying that 4 star maps in osu was impossible and he then challenged me to complete one. I never would've thought I would get addicted. Looking at your video, your mindset was to fc most of the maps you've played, while my mindset was to pass higher star rating maps and relatively hard maps. After about 1 week of playing, I would be able to pass 4 stars. Right after that, I would move on to five star maps and even six stars. I'm fairly proud to get a C rating pass on airman ( rip airman in new patch ) in just a month! It's great to find many different perspectives of playing the game that I enjoy quite a bit
pp farming basically is playing maps to gain ranks. Most pp farm maps are aim based with simple patterns and are very short, making them easily replayable and accessible, hence the term "farming." That's just a simple definition of it, but hope that clears things up.

i fced mizuto no curtain more than a year ago 99% acc and 225pp. And now i cant even get 85 acc on that map

I am playing for around a year now as well. Went to rank 70k on my 7th month, then my 2k playcount per month became something like 500. Ever since, I touch the game for maybe half an hour every other game. No farming, just vibing. The grind was fun, but it was getting frustrating, just playing chill stream maps like this is more fun to me.
Osu is a game for the long run. Rushing will kill the joy you would otherwise get and would propably hinder your abilities in most basic skillsets. That’s why I appreciate how you’re taking it easy and not playing DT and 1-2 farm all the time. I wish you the best of luck in your osu journey

Just started my journey 2 months ago, these videos are a real inspiration. I feel like I'm at the brink of touching 4* but I just can't reach it yet. I went into this game with a little more knowledge so at the moment I'm focused on getting beatmap medals rather than farming PP. Of coarse I've been enjoying the game a lot and switched to tablet far sooner than a normal person should but I can't wait to see my results by the end.
I discovered Osu in 2018 and 3 years later I still don't have a pc but I train my hands to prepare for the day I get to play

Very nice! I’ve kind of done what you’ve done and mostly just play streamy maps now (first started barely being able to stream 150-160 early 2021 to death streaming 170-180 and streaming up to 210 now.) ofc I lost all my farming abilities lol. My aim isn’t great anymore.
I feels like streaming skill are more important than aim , bcs in order to pass higher star map there are a lot of fast short stream or burst n for someone like me that can only do 170bpm is frustrating because I just can't keep up with the speed and I've been playing for over 2 years still stuck at the same speed
@@Jitliung Yeah streaming is pretty important for higher star maps because this is really a beat game in the end. Everyone is able to catch on to the aim part pretty easily but not everyone is with streams. Took me a solid 4 months into the game with some extreme grinding of about 5 total days of play time to finally beat my first 9 star by cheesing it because it had insane streams... Free medal!

Had a friend I use to play with all the time for like 4 months those were the best times for me, then he started playing other games and we had a falling out so i stopped playing osu frequently cause it was boring without him. For about 2 years I’ve hardly played osu. Recently though I’ve been getting into it again and picking up back at low 5*. It’s inspiring to see someone motivated to play osu! And have fun with it, lowkey I kinda wanna play now.
You took a really good route when improving! That is something I rarely see with new players and it was something I also struggled with back then.
Now I'm in a state where my account is underranked to the point that playing in multi raises my rank, I need to work on my consistency and seeing this gave me a nice motivation boost.

I started 4 months ago (March 2022, currently July 2022) and i have reached the higher ladder of 6 digit, with my rank being 321k at the time. i main hardrock and although i have A LOT to work on still, my skill set isn't bad for someone who has a lot less playtime than most people in higher 6 digit.

I've started playing in 2016, playing very inregulary. I still don't know what pp or pp farming is. But honestly I don't care, I just play titles I like and my goal is to beat them on hard. I'm pretty competitive in other games, but not in osu, which I'm happy about.

OH MY GOD. no, mizuoto to curtain top dif is such a cursed map for me, I hate it. I have a 91% fc on it after like a few attempts, but to this day I can not refc it, and have *3* 98%+ acc chokes on it

I have been playing for 3 years and still a 400k though, maybe because I just playing for fun (no farming, try hard, fc..), seeing this video make me realize how motivation deeply affect your improvement. If I was serious enough i think i would be 5 digit now XD
11 days in and just hit 6 digit ranking! The adrenaline rush from slowly playing harder and harder maps makes me so addicted. Can't wait to see where I am a year from now as well! People keep telling me to switch to tablet, but I really want to see how far I can get with a mouse!
Update (January 2022) : Rank 600k hit hard wall. Plan to keep going at it, but more casual.

That’s really a nice improvement! I have been playing osu for a year ( well I started playing 20.11 so I still have 4 days ) and my current rank is 76k but currently I just full practice stream maps and not focusing on getting pp, because I much prefer stream maps then jumpy, pp or tech maps
im the same as you i have 17 days playtime and im 45k but my skill is around 5k i think cuz i can hit 10* jumps and firelight streams and bookmaker tech weird patterns when im at my peak

Thanks for uploading this! I downloaded the game in 2015 and didn’t really start playing until 2018. That was still sort of on and off until I started setting goals and more seriously wanting to improve since around this time last year, so I started posting on this channel as a sort of video diary. It’s really nice to see other people doing the same kind of documentation. It’s honestly hard to truly understand how much you’ve improved until you really delve into the history of your play to make a recap like this. Hope this really helps motivate you to improve further and that you drown in pp next year lol

I have thoughts about quiting osu, but when i saw this video it made me think like "Damn, i will never see my self being good if i quit rn" So i came to a conclusion that i will play and grind till the moment i say "Damn, this is how far i got"

Don't feel bad about not being able to read HD on its own I can personally only read it when I have another mod on aswell, whether that be DT or HR depends on how I'm feeling, fast fingies or fast wrist
Wow I can't believe I spent 26 minutes to watch a complete stranger's osu journey. Nevertheless, this was a great find. My mindset when I started was different as I only started when I glazed over my friend saying that 4 star maps in osu was impossible and he then challenged me to complete one. I never would've thought I would get addicted. Looking at your video, your mindset was to fc most of the maps you've played, while my mindset was to pass higher star rating maps and relatively hard maps. After about 1 week of playing, I would be able to pass 4 stars. Right after that, I would move on to five star maps and even six stars. I'm fairly proud to get a C rating pass on airman ( rip airman in new patch ) in just a month! It's great to find many different perspectives of playing the game that I enjoy quite a bit
I have played Osu for 6 years now and I never understood the concept of "pp farming" or why its a big deal. Can someone explain pls?
pp farming basically is playing maps to gain ranks. Most pp farm maps are aim based with simple patterns and are very short, making them easily replayable and accessible, hence the term "farming." That's just a simple definition of it, but hope that clears things up.
