@@frankrenda2519 Not necessarily, Look back at the winter war when 700,000 russians invaded finland, finland managed to fight them off with only 200,000 men. Russia won that war but their losses were significantly higher

German marines are not called/do not call themselves 'Devil Dogs'. That's a USMC nickname.
Rodger that, the German Army gave us that nickname in WW1, and we still address each by it on a regular basis.

Portuguese Marines use the HK G3 with the Spuhr upgrade kit.
Back in 2019 the Portuguese Navy decided not to change their main battle Rifle and just upgrade what it is a highly reliable, battle proven weapon chambered for the powerful 7.2mm.
The Portuguese Army and airborne troops changed the G3 and the Galil to the FN SCAR L but the Corpo de Fuzileiros, wisely, saw the SCAR as a Weapon not suited from amphibious combat and are also very skeptic towards the 5,56mm round stopping power. The recent upgrade of the US Forces from the 5,56mm to the new 6.8 x 51mm seems to demonstrate that the 5,56 lacks the power needed to beat modern personal individual armor.
Thats incorrect, acording to oficial Portuguese Navy statements, no funding was made available for the replacement of the Marine´s G3A3 and A4 rifles and as such, a modernization program was implemented. Furthermore, the 5.56 is not perfect but haves several advantages over the 7.62 and has been the NATO standard for some 40 years now Portugal is just too late for the party with the introduction of the 6.8 calliber

As far as I know, Germany does not have a unit called 'Devil Dogs.' That's a nickname given by German military referencing US Marines at Belleau Wood during World War 1.
Worked alongside a few Royals - They hold the Dutch Marines in very high esteem and told me they gave worked in unison with them on many occasions. I also worked with some Italian marines ( they were pretty switched on blokes - they told me it was the Royals who set the standard that others strive to reach.

I see the Portuguese Marines are using a updated HK. G3 rifle.
A weapon they have been using for sixty years, still accurate, reliable, and 7.62 stopping power.
Anybody how the updated version differs from the original 1961 batch ?
Railed handguard and on the upper to mount optics. Also a adjustable AR type stock (I forgot what company it was.)
From what I know there was very little internal modification if any.

I don't know what they use, but HK has one in 5.56 NATO called the HK33

The USA needs to get out of Europe and NATO.
Europeans will tell everyone how they are the best thing ever and Americans were/ are close to nothing, so no need for us to be there.

I hope Ukraine wins. The USA can also give some aid to Ukraine without being in Europe and NATO. The USA should match Germany's aid dollar for dollar. Germany wants to be the grand leader of the EU Empire, then they should pay the bills and really be the leader. The British and French also always trying to be the boss too. The USA should match Germany, then the UK and France should match that too... dollar for dollar.
The EU wants to annex Ukraine, after the USA pays for 80% or more of the war expenses. Typical, Germans/ EU want all of the benefits with none of the costs. There is a term for that: users. Be the leaders and pay the bills and stop using Americans, which all of you dislike, anyway. As so many in Europe point out: the USA not a European country.
BTW, Germany wants Russia to join the EU too and the French and Germans have always had it in for the USA, since WW2. Grand Eurasian Empire! Russia seems to not be cooperating, maybe in 30 years Germany will finally get its hands on all of those natural resources. They could not do it with the Panzers, but they will do it with a pen and paper. Germans never give up, even after being defeated 2 times.
