As an Anakin main, let me address why Anakin’s stamina is absolutely garbage. It’s not because of his base amount of Attacks he can do. It’s not because of the amount of swings he can block. It’s about his kit and the strategy that favors his abilities. Anakin is a character that focuses on counter attacks rather than offensive play. His abilities are too predictable and take way too long for them to come back to where he isn’t suited in an aggressive play style. And he can’t tank blows the same way GG, Vader, Dooku, and Obi can. The parry system doesn’t help in Anakin’s favor either. Without any doubt, Anakin’s abilities are some of the easiest to double parry because of their start up animations and damage reduction leaving early. To top it all off Anakin has a 2 second delay before he can start regenerating stamina. Now let’s compare a character that is also known for having bad stamina, Grievous. Grievous base stamina isn’t too impressive especially against blasters, but his kit makes up for it. He has 2 quick recharge abilities that let him regenerate stamina with no problem, has an incredible jump that gives blasters a hard time, and he can tank a lot with a regen card and flesh is weak. His stamina works well with his kit. Compare that to Anakin who has a long delay on regen stamina, has long cooldown, predictable, and easily punishable abilities, and can not tank hits. So at the end of the day you have a counterattack type character that relies heavily on his defensive stamina but has no proper way to gain it back without risking himself hard, by either throwing a predictable and easily punishable ability with a long cooldown before you can get it back. Or let go of block for 2 seconds which in a duel is a long time to be leaving yourself open.
Ye man , if you think well he is the Best character on the game BUT he is the HARDEST CHARACTER TO USE because he regen is one of the wrost of the game and the others who have wrost regen then him have abilytis that can protect then while they are regenerate the stamina, and on hero showdow it' s almost impossible to play agressivle with him . he parry and animation time , even the abilytis are very easy to parry.
I feel like if they didn’t leave they would’ve fixed anakin and he would’ve been my main. Which is why I’m so aggressive with kenobi and no one expects this but when I try with anakin it always back fires. Sometimes it works with my favor but then other times I’m too predictable with anakin.

Anakin was fine at nerf 4. He is super weak against Vader and Dooku and Palp now, since they have hella stamina and Palp melts your stamina in 2 seconds flat. It wouldn’t be such a big deal if the massive strikes card would only drain 25% more stamina on your tax like the card says, but it also affects your blocking!

@Solomon I tested it. Anakin is faster overall, but I misspoke when I said he has a faster running speed. If they are both running Luke is slightly faster, but if you use their overall movement then Anakin is slightly faster than Luke. I wanted to mention that in this video because no one should just be running when playing. It's not a race. You want to use everything and maximize your movement speed, so in the context of the video Anakin's faster.

@@Peer382 I mean moving in the aspect of getting around the map, like overall speed, with his dashes as you run as well as his jumps. For example, if Luke and Ani had to race from one side of Geonosis to the other by just their running speed and nothing else to avoid blaster fire or something then Luke will slightly win, but if it's not just limited to running and you can include your dashes and jumps then Anakin will win. Which would be the overall speed which you would want to take advantage of when playing the game. Hope this clears things up.
@@TheGrayJedi Interesting I always thought of Anakin as much more clunky and more of a hard hitter bc of his swing speed. Have you compared them in this way to earth maul. Obviously his dash attack gives him an edge but I wonder where his jump and dash range would rank amongst the other saber hero’s, maybe first.
Great guide Gray, this by far your best, for my star cards I use for Anakin in hero games is usually Attraction, Raw Strength and Massive Strikes, if I'm looking to be a bit on the toxic side I would use Tenacious (idk if I spelled that right lol), Raw Strength and Massive Strikes. As for Trooper game modes I mainly use Control The Force, Raw Strength and Attraction, but for max damage I mainly use this for grinding co-op I use All Of Them, Raw Strength and Massive Strikes making it so that Anakin can 1 shot any trooper with his abilities (note: the only ability that can kill a full health heavy is passionate strikes but combo it with pull and middle it can also kill a heavy) and his normal attack with the exception of the heavy class.

If you’re runnin massive strikes he’s got the heaviest saber damage in the game that’s what makes him such a savage.
Amazing guide. I main obi wan and decided to prestige ANAKIN but I only use to play defensive and I thought his stamina was very bad but over time I adapted and changed my star card to massive strikes with steamroll and now with a more offensive playstyle I do pretty good and can even sometimes win a 2v1 situation. Also his passionate strike can counter grevious unrelenting advace and damage right through. And 26:45 bruh. ANAKIN has not turned to the darkside yet Gray. But a good guide as always.

True, I just mentioned melty blasters like the E-11 and DL44 as a damage comparison that way you guys know to just block when your getting melted by a particular blaster. This is great, thanks. I have the game on Xbox but I have a ps4 and used a gift card to try bf2 on PS4 and you weren’t kidding about that lag or heroic might glitching out. It does not glitch out like that on their Xbox servers lol I got tossed offline twice too. but these star card suggestions were 🔥 as yours usually are. It was fun people thinking I was a noob, though they usually figured out they better double team me pretty quick 😁 I really like that setup, I was using extended reach but more damage and more health are always better.

Anakin actually has a 2nd lunge attack which looks like a ballerina spin, as well as the backward 8 lunge. The spin lunge is kinda useless though. Just thought I'd let you know.
Anakin's stamina does suck tho. Luke and Rey and obi-wan and Yoda swing stamina may be worst but it comes back much quicker which imo is better. Cuz if you drop your block for 5 seconds which is how long ani's takes for it to come back they get lots of dmg during that time period. This is ani's only weakness imo but it is a big one

@@TheGrayJedi but ani's stamina is the worse to come back. Obi gains stamina from push/rush and Rey and Luke's and Yoda regen is almost instant. With ani I always feel out of stamina more than other characters
@@Jits75 Well, for Ani you have heroic might and your pull to regen your stamina. Plus, if your still wanting to finish your opponents when your out of stamina you have passionate strike. If you find yourself out of stamina try positioning yourself differently or equip the star card steamroll. It doesn't' take too long for him to get his stamina back, so I would try jumping away or dashing back a couple times if your out of abilities. I mean at that point you'll have to do that with any other hero. I'm just here to tell you guys the stats and different strategies. Hopefully this helps.

It's funny. His health, lightsaber and stamina cards are pretty much his canon set-up. Anakin wasn't known for using the force all that much. He was known for his lightsaber mastery.

Nice vid gray and everyone fierce fighter could also be a really good star card for anakin, and all of them is such a useless star card for anakin in trooper modes because anakins base pull damage already does 120 and you could herocic might them to finish them off, and never use all of them in hvv or showdown

Unrelated, but how cool would it be if we had a BF game with Starkiller in it? I just imagine he has an ability where he can pull player ships out of the sky and 1 shot them. I'd imagine this would be similar to Ani's fourth ability due to how OP it would be.

Hello there! Thanks man, that means a lot! As for the high health, no one should have 1500, if they do it's a bot in co-op or someone is hacking. Vader can come in at the highest health at 1,150 I believe off the top of my head, around that at least if not exact and that is with his star cards and focus rage active (which is his middle ability). Hope this helps and clears some things up.
When I use massive strikes it always seems to buff up my streaks in GA by a huge amount, my only problem with it is it makes me used to one hitting with every swing using Anakin and feeling like a crutch. Also when I get jumped by heroes in GA with massive strikes on, it’s quite difficult to pull through when he has the lowest blocking when using the card. I’d only use massive strikes if I know I wouldn’t get jumped by heroes

Also rey is faster then anakin and in fact actually better then ani. True her lightsaber damage is the lowest but she has one of the best abilities in the game, (Insight and Dash Strike) Though in terms of movement rey has 3 dodges with a star card and when anakin is on cool down with his abilities hes basically vulnerable, insight and dash strike come back so fast. She has a big combo where she can do over 600 damage, ani however can do only above 400.

I'll accept the friend request ASAP. As for fastness Rey is not faster than Anakin. I tested it out. As for who you think it better that's totally up to opinion, but I will say that they are both great heroes in my opinion. I believe that Anakin can pull off high damage combos against more skilled players than Rey, but that's not really saying much because that just comes down to the skill of the player and your opponent. As for damage combos, I did mention one in the video that was over 800 damage that you can easily do with Anakin, so I'm not sure about the damage combo comparisons from 600 with Rey to 400 with Anakin.
A thing you forgot to mention: Anakin has 1 big weakness. His lack of mobility.
What I mean:
All 4 of Anakin's abilities force him to stop dead in his tracks, and go through a lengthy animation which can leave him vulnerable. None of them allow him to block, either (unlike Vader's choke, or Obi's rush) and he does not have an evasive ability (such as Maul's spin). This is especially true with his pull, which can be double parried, and gives him no damage reduction whatsoever. All of them is a great card, but again, if you activate pull in front of 6 enemies, then prepare for them suck your health bar from your nutsack.
This, coupled with his slower dodge speed and slower swing speed, mean that he can is rather immobile compared to other heroes, and struggles to deal with mobile characters like Maul, Dooku, or Grievous.
Surprised you didn't mention all this. Maybe I'll have to in my own guide. I wondered about doing it before but never did it. I might have to actually do it now. I do still have a passion for this game. It's good.
Then do it, but I did mention that, I talk about the activation animation and that you should be careful of it.

By pressing the dodge button in a particular direction and then swing. Hope this helps.

@@TheGrayJedi basically your characters ability to track with there strikes. In ur vid u get passionate strike to track pretty well. Dunno if that's just good aim or what.
@@robertom4717 Yeah, it just comes down to practicing and knowing what is the correct distance to use it. Especially since there is an activation animation. If you find yourself not hitting your targets you may not be close enough. He does have some range on the ability, but you can't be to far and you want to keep the center white dot on your opponent for it to be most effective. Hope this helps.

I' m Anakin main , and i realy like the video, but i disagree with a lot of things on the video, im my expirience with him steamroll is the best card for him because he has the worst light side stamina regen so it' s not he base swing that is bad is he regen that is , and he is not the fastet ligth side hero , rey and luke are very more versatile and fast then him, and on hero showdow you have to use him defensivile in my opnion because he is the hardest saber user to know how to parry and he has also the wrost parry time and saber swing animation that make him very easy to parry, but this is my opnion by my personal expirience with. ( but at the other modes of the game except from hero showdow you can use him agressivle.
Totally respect your opinion man! As for the speed, Anakin is faster than Rey overall and even with the normal sprint. As for Luke, Anakin is still faster in overall speed which is what I was referring to in the video. (Not swing speed, just overall movement without using abilities). For example, if you had Anakin and Luke race, Anakin would win because he has a fast run speed and even a faster dodge compared to Luke who even has a faster run speed than Anakin (slightly), but he has a slower dash than Anakin and that's why the overall movement of Anakin is faster. Hope this clears some things up. When it comes to his stamina, I see what you're saying, but he still has good ways to manage it to counter his slower stamina regen (which I've mentioned in the video). To me, yes, it's slower, but I really don't think that makes is bad because if you're using your stamina right and not wasting swings, you have a lot! Plus, he can recover it after using just one ability. Also, this has been a while, so I may be wrong here but I think Kenobi's regen might actually be slower than Anakin's but that's something I have to test again just to be sure. So, I'm not even 100% sure that his regen delay is even the slowest in the game.

@@TheGrayJedi that' s why kenobi is the best of the light side for hero Showdown he has a lot of stamina and is almost impossible to run out stamina with him , and even if run out he has a good regen and 2 abilitys that make he invencible.

Depends on the person.

No, he has the same stamina no matter the mode. Although, if you're used to using his steamroll stamina card then that may play a role.

what game modes are the best for practicing on for Anakin?
It depends on what you're really wanting to get better on because Anakin plays a bit differently in large scale modes than showdown. If you're looking for a more skilled duel approach, I'd do hero showdown and for large scale mods I'd stick with Galactic Assault if you're looking to get better faster. Although, the mods HS, HVV, GA, and Supremacy are all good and it's better to go with the one's your having fun with because that will get you to enjoy the character and experience and that will allow you to be better at the character. So there's really no right or wrong answer here. All four of those mods are good, I'd just start looking at where you're messing up when you die and see if you can change something about that. Hope this gives you a direction and helps.

Dumb question : how do you do something that you have called a “lunge attack”?
Not a dumb question at all. You do a lunge attack when running forward and then attacking. For Anakin it will look something like this. 9:49 You can also slow it down and see that I pressed the attack button as I was running. Hope this clears things up.
@@TheGrayJedi thanks. Reason i asked is that i’ve had instances when enemy lunged at me from very far, and then when i try to do it - it doesnt work. For example, when i fight Vader - they somehow lunge towards me from a distance i dont expect them to reach me (and it doesnt look like they run beforehand). When I play as Vader, and, lets say, My enemy is a blaster, and they do a dodgeroll - my Vader barely moves an inch when performing an attack, and never reaches them after they roll.
Another thing happened with Anakin. Enemy did passionate strike, and somehow lunged at me with it from like 10 meters away. When i do PS it lunges like 2 meters at most.
@@VDViktor Yeah, the lunges can be tricky. When looking at your opponent there's like a magnetic affect and you can just swing and they'll do the lunging for you. You can also just push forward on that run button (without actually running because of swing animation, and that will also do it). As for them rolling it's because the "lock on" effect goes away. That's also why there's bad hit detection. I can give you a more in depth answer if you stop by one of my streams. I'm hoping I can do one on Friday, and I'll do my best to explain it and show you. Hope this helps.

Yes, but this guide is still good and up to date after the last patch. They're not slower than in the video, but you are correct. They pretty much nerfed Anakin in every way possible.
@@TheGrayJedi I guess the swings registering and animations finishing don't always line up - that could well be the case with buggy hit detection.
@@TheGrayJedi His swing speed is not the best compared to other heroes. Luke, Dooku, Maul, and Vader all do circles around him
Yeah, I know his isn't the BEST, I didn't say that, I just said it was "faster than a lot of other heroes, so use that to your advantage" which is true. Also, it's been a while since I've tested it, but I'm also pretty sure his is faster than Vader's and Maul's.@@Solomon_C

I was talking about his overall speed being the fastest on the light side, but regarding swing speed I just said his was fast and you can get that extra hit in like you can with Luke since his is right below his.

I tested it. Anakin is faster overall, but I misspoke when I said he has a faster running speed. If they are both running Luke is slightly faster, but if you use their overall movement then Anakin is slightly faster than Luke. I wanted to mention that in this video because no one should just be running when playing. It's not a race. You want to use everything and maximize your movement speed, so in the context of the video Anakin's faster. I also mean moving in the aspect of getting around the map, like overall speed, with his dashes as you run as well as his jumps. For example, if Luke and Ani had to race from one side of Geonosis to the other by just their running speed and nothing else to avoid blaster fire or something then Luke will slightly win, but if it's not just limited to running and you can include your dashes and jumps then Anakin will win. Which would be the overall speed which you would want to take advantage of when playing the game. Hope this clears things up.

Actually anakins Stam is bad. Hear me out. People luke Stam come back in 1 sec according to his stats. Anakins comes back in 2 seconds. Doesn't seem like much but when you have no viable way to get your Stam back, it exacerbates his weakness. Obi Wan dash, Rey has reyfuse. Luke has dash. Yoda has dash. All these heros have way to get there Stam back. Ani does not. Yes you can use his abilities but they're are easy to counter and bait.
And my personal opinion he need to be revert 1 update not launch. He's not that bad rn. But definitely easy to kill when I face him. After he uses his abilities he loses some of his teeth.
That all being said I love to play Anakin.and I'm referring to anakin in duels when I was talking about him
@@robertom4717 I totally see what you're saying, but I say it's pretty fair that his takes only one second more compared to someone like Luke because he can swing more. That's how they keep it balanced. I'd say you can make that same argument with the other heroes. You can always use heroic might when running out of stamina or even passionate strike. Passionate strike I guess you can say you can see it coming, but heroic might, if you don't charge it, it is just really fast and you won't see it coming. Plus, you said Luke could use his dash or Rey, but you can see them coming almost as much as you can see passionate strike. You also mention that once you use Anakin's abilities he loses some teeth, but that honestly goes with all heroes. You can make that argument with all of them. I believe his isn't bad. It's just different. The stats are there. It's just up for preference and play style because I'd rather wait that extra second if it means I have slightly more. I mean, I do pretty dang well with his stamina and I actually find his better to manage compared to some of the other heroes.
@@TheGrayJedi that's all a fair point. Not gonna be like everyone else and say his Stam is unmanageable. You do have that repulse to get people off of you. Hell even his pull. But by comparison, his stamina isn't really the issue. It's the tools that he is given to manage it are a little worse than his counter parts. Like the examples I gave above all the other heros have a oh shit, I'm low button, or even a few. Like obi,Luke and Rey have many ways to either get away quicker or retaliate. As for ani he has that too but it can make his situation worse, depending on how there used like his pull and passionate strike. So by contrast people say "nu-uh his Stam bad". It just FEELS that way sometimes. When in fact like u said it's actually decent(defensive it's okayish). Btw I liked the guide. I'm happy to see Ani getting some love.
