Mixing up your running training with different types of workouts has been proven to bust you out of that rut and progress your running to new levels and smash your goals.
Garmin has created a Workout Builder specifically to take the difficulty of coordinating your training sessions by allowing you to program your watch in advance.
Most people don't fully use the features of their Garmin device so let's change that and get ready to smash your goals in 2020

thanks m8 was looking at how to set up my own workouts as some garmin workouts are not aimed at 50 yr old just starting to run again lol
You're welcome. I'm about to turn 50 in a few weeks so I know exactly where you're coming from. Good luck with your running.

Very nice and clear information, thanks, I have a Garmin FR 45 but I can't seems to set properly other types of training (HIIT ) I am not able to see on my device, just the running ones, do you have a tutorial around this ? Thanks again
Hi. You could try programming a strength session with all the steps listed out by time and then a recovery period. You've gave me an idea for another video on this topic as I haven't covered that option. Thanks.
Do you know how to create a repeat with more than 2 steps? Like a hill repeat for example uphill, rest, downhill, rest, repeat
Yes you can do that. Simply click on 'Add a Step' This will add a new step (run by default) to the bottom of your workout. Drag it up into your 'repeat block' You can then change it's type from 'Run' to whatever you would like. This step will now form part of the repeat loop. Hope this helps.
