- In this film you can learn all you need to know to fly fish for pollack. Flyfishing for pollack or fluefiske etter lyr (as we say in Norwegian) is excellent between the months of May and December in the Southern Norwegian archipelago. Here's how I catch them!
A lot of the tips in this film can be applied to other forms of pollack fishing, not just from a boat.
Tightlines and good luck!

Great video! I also love Pollack fly fishing, especially in norway great country and lots of fish!
That's great to hear Julien. I'm looking forward to the snow and ice disappears so that I can get my boat out again.
Thanks, great resource! Just left Alnwick after living there 2 years, got my Hardy’s hat and repping here on the Ulster coast!
I’m so glad you liked it. Enjoy the Ulster coast but is there good pollack fishing there? My knowledge of Ireland is so what limited!
Great video my friend. I love to catch Pollack here in Larvik. They pull hard and they are great eating fish as well. Cheers, Eivind.
Thanks Eivind. They're so underrated as a sporting fish, and damn they pull hard, especially the large ones (over 4kg+). It's great to have other opportunities outside of sea trout.
Yes this June we will be back in Norway...fishing for Pollack from our bellyboats... great fun !
Excellent Cornelis. It must be extra fun hitting them from your bellyboat. The strength of the bigger one will easily pull down the one sit of the bellyboat. Where in Norway will you be targeting them?

Great video very informative :)
Thanks Kempy, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Good fishing! Great video! Keep it up!
Thanks Stofeti, I shall do!
ok!
kjempebra film Ryan
Great video, i have a flyline D7 9wt. But it is not possible to cast it. Not even 10 meters. Do you cast these lines? Which D6 fly line do you use?
Hi there! Tbh it's heavy to cast with and I just cast out the head and feed out the running line. With sink tips or heavy lines like this, it helps to slightly open the casting loop. The line I use is a Airflo Depthfinder Big Game. I did try with a shooting head but the hinging was terrible so I went for a full line instead.
Thank You for responding so quickly. Thank You.
@@fishermanstales8946 my pleasure.
So no retrieve? What if you were fishing from rocks - how would you retrieve?
rshaw13 I do sometimes retrieve if the current/drift is very slow. Pollack like a slow retrieve either figure of eight or long slow pulls. I hope this helps!
Hei!
Takk for opplysningene! 👍🏼
Daniel Lutze absolutt! Bare hyggelig å dele erfaringer 😊
