Boston Dynamics ~2019: “it’s an arm not a head”
Boston Dynamics 2021: “whatever”
Boston dynamics: both is good!
axaxaxa
*2022: **_"It's both!"_*
basically a sock puppet to show emotions, theyre robots not basic humans. their metal sock puppets are adorable
It’s an “armouth” or a lizard head
I look forward to their debut album "Aftermath"
Is this a boomer reference that I’m too young to understand

@@blebweb The aftermath of a robot apocalypse where robots have taken over the world 🤖 💀
Ahahahah funny arent u
It's the year 2023... the robots have taken over, relegating humanity into the caves once again...
The people who choreographed this really know how to build characters through animation. The way the "head" seamlessly transitions into the "hand" and then starts building the whole silhouette is amazing. Great job whoever you are people!
It's not animation if by animation you mean cartoons.
@@daveken9936 You animate a robot. It's definitely a form of animation.
yeah its animation. they animate a virtual version of the robot, and then the real robot attempts to mimic that sequence
The movements are so fluid and lifelike. The robots are also impressive.
The strolling bones….😂
Mic Jagger will never die, he'll just become a Boston Dynamics robot.
Seriously, the question isn't about the death of the individuals at this point. It's about the arrangements the estates made with the record labels. Given the correct arrangements, most public entertainers will live digitally forever, creating contemporary content for any audience seeking it out. Can you envision Gloria Swanson singing something from Taylor Swift?
See spot run. See spot dance. Watch Dick make spot a vessel for Micks soul.
Westworld is the future of this species, just like God intended
He’s just a Boston dynamics robot from the future
Lol
I can't believe I was born in a time where I get to experience whatever this is 🤣
This is just the beginning wait for the moon base and the flying cars
@@jaxsonaction7921 moon base is probable, flying cars? Unlikely
I mean we have drone taxis coming to the pipeline.
The Jetsons era started
Jetson is already a new thing saw it on here a few days ago. Its like a go kart drone more than a flying car check it out
Lmao strong portal vibes from this. Insane engineering, wow
It's unbelievable how human like the movements are......and the robot's pretty good too.
Lol.
I not sure what's more amazing, a quadrupedal robot that can dance... or that fact that Keith Richards is still alive.
HAHAHAHA
Still alive, as "coherent, as ever, and performing (remarkably well, I would add). We watched the Stones perform last week in Atlanta (acoustics were so bad we could hardly hear them).
🤣
Not smart enough robots are still dumb
You've doomed him.
I can’t believe how fluid the movements are! Bravo Mick!
That’s why everyone wanted to have moves like Jagger a few years ago lol
Many people think that is cgi because of this. They have that sensation that is something moves fluid, that means it´s an animation.
@@hanniamartinezadame8125 for real. I am lucky enough to have seen one in person and I can CONFIRM. They can move so fluid that even in real life they look animated
Bravo vince
Like maroon 5 said I got the moves
Mick jagger.
I love the rolling spots!
hahahaha!!! :)
I seriously hope Boston Dynamics is going to the moon!! Seriously!! That could lead to some serious discoveries!! Thanks Boston Dynamics!!! Your our only hope!!!
"If you start me up I'll never stop" - oh boy that sounds scary.
Judgement day
ruh roh raggy
Yep, nailed it. One day, years from now, they'll simply say, "Well, we told you outright. In that song."
There's nothing scary about that. Robots are great! I love robots. Robots are very nice. Very nice.
Boston Dynamics is a name we will fear in the coming decades.
"Do not fear us, we are harmless. Look at us dance." 😂
I can't believe nobody is commenting on how ominous the sentence "If you start me up, I'll never stop" is in this context.

So it begins...
thx chris n raleigh - nailed it 😂 - don't worry....it'll be our kidz problems - they're smart, they can handle it 😁
....you know a team of programmers had to programme every single one of those moves right? like a dj creating a song with hundreds of other sounds.
The movements are so fluid and smooth my brain thinks it's fake but I think it's real
The Stones are definitely real
@@stevenwild39 😂😂😂
robots can move perfectly its really cool
This. This genuinely put a smile on my face I cannot stop smiling
Right?!!! Groovy man!
Can't believe how fluid the movement is, bravo Boston Dynamics team.
Me too, I really struggle to believe, it is not an animation. If this thing is real, the team did an absolutely amazing job in my opinion.
Yeah , it'll make it a more efficient killing machine . Hunting down humans !😅
@@LasseJulius it is brother
this is not rendeer ?XD??
@@LasseJulius yeah, Mick's still got it!
The movements are so delicate and smooth. I remember when robots could barely walk around. The improvement is palpable.
Well you can't chase down humans if you can't walk right

@Lg3 It's not. Check out their other videos.
@Lg3 people have literally bought these
They’ll be pirouetting over our cold dead bodies like graceful ballerinas after they’ve killed us.

So smooth
yes omgg
soo dynamic, that's the kind of movement that seems impossible to perform for a robot
@@pij3333 id say its CGI, they move like they have very little weight, the lighting seems off and programming these to dance would be a chore. Also they dont give me the same uncanny valley sensation as usual, its like a pixar movie
@@GreenRatel why would they make a cgi video of their very capable robots? makes no sense.
I always thought that Mick's movement was like a mix of robots and wildlife. Finally, the day has come when the robot catches up with Mick. Robots that imitate Keith's "warp" and Ron's true face "moment" are also excellent.
The rolling metals will forever be one of the greatest all robotic ,partially AI robot bands of all time
We all know we want spot to perform Never gonna give you up.

Yes we do sir
You, my friend, are an evil genius !!! :D

These Spots really do be forming a boy band
Well if i ever visit a concert it has to be robots performing for sure.
A bot band, if you will xD
these spots on my window look like a boy band… i should probably clean it off
The Spots really made the Rolling Stones and BTS a run for their money
Bot band :D
I really appreciate how well the choreographer was able to translate the (mostly) human moves of a head, face, and two arms onto the robot's one... neck... thing.
This really must have hurt. Every time you ask, they keep saying it’s an arm and a hand, not a neck and a head. But it works so well…
@@jellyvista Yet, they once put googly eyes on the hand of one of their Spots.
It's supposed to be a hand
@@jahsehrecardo8394 You mean the function of that on the robot? Yeah, I get that. As far as the choreography, I'm not sure what to call it. lol
@@BRUXXUS oh yeah true true
Spot’s movement is so natural looking it’s moved beyond uncanny and looks ORGANIC.
Is this their way of making us think to ourselves "Oh look, they're so cute they could never harm us!"
It was the 'Rolling Stones' series that really broke down the wall of acceptance for humanoid robots. Assimilation was much smoother once the meatbags were calm and unsuspecting.
It's HUMANS!!!!!!
@@sheiladawg1664 Meatbags!!!

Amazing robots, such snappy agility, and incredible programming to boot ! This is where art meets science 🧪
Man, I miss the time when reading "40 years ago" used to refer to things too old for me to remember directly.
40 years old and playing XCom2? You're a freaking G man 🙏
Pity Mick Jagger. It won’t be long before he can remember things twice that long ago.
@@dalekman8945 I am 52 and still do... 😂😂😂
What are you complaining about I remember both Alan Shepard and Yuri Gagarin going into space . What made me freak though was my grandmother telling me she remembered the Titanic back when the movie was out in the 80s
I like how Boston dynamics has a humanoid robot that could copy the moves exactly, yet they choose to use a 4 legged one and go through the extra work of making a unique mimicking routine.
the humanoid robot doesnt have the same balance as the "dog" one, they probably cant do the same movements with the humanoid robot YET
Terrifying. Truly.
@@ventumloquitur8250 only in the form that it's _terrific_
You're right. They could've - but this is so much more unique. Lot's of coding and effort went into this. Lovin' it.
Are they just making them dance just because they want us to think they're nice and not capable of way more sinister stuff? They dance A LOT 🙃
Meu deus, a naturalidade dos movimentos é simplesmente lindo de ver.
O robô ou o Jagger? Kk

Yep. The machine take over is eminent and it's going to be so freaking awesome!
Atleast as they crush our weak human bones they will do it with rhythm and flare! : )
The Spots' movements are so smooth they're borderline creepy. I think they've officially entered the uncanny valley with this technology.
It's been teetering on the edge and now it's off the precipice and in the valley.
Give the thing goggly eyes
That's because peoples' movements are not smooth. We're controlling the contractions of various muscles which are not linear, and generally not parallel to the direction you're trying to move anything.
Nah they are cute as fuck, look a little metal dog
Yeah my brain can't process that this is real and not CGI. Pretty mind blowing if you grew up in the Teddy Ruckspin era
The Spot imitating Charlie Watts on the drums is actually using the pedals to play the hi hat and bass drum....
My jaw broke when it hit the ground in astonishment.
R.I.P. Charlie Watts
Also interesting that there isn't any Bill Wyman robot.
Who will be the first to get one or more Spots to drum an entire song?
boston should really do a concert!
Mic and the Spots, forever Baby!!!
One day I'm going to stop being surprised at how incredible their movement is. Today is not that day.
The speed and fluidity of the servos is amazing. Wow!
I wonder if they had the robots moving slower and then sped up the video to make their movements smoother. Either way it’s very good
@@illpunchyouintheface9094 That was 2010.

Seeing Spot grow and improve throughout these years is just so amazing!
0:29 Spot doing the drums didn't touch the drums *but* has 4-on-floor rhythm using its right leg and snare backbeat 2&4 on its left!! The rest of the Spot band having the moves is just so super amazingly smooth! Simply awesome!! I can watch whole day!!
Thanks for pointing that out! :)

I, for one, welcome our performing robotics overlords. Oh, and the units from Boston Dynamics, too.
I, for one, welcome our dance partners! Super groovy! Imagine AI singing and dancing with us this is just too cool.
I trust if we taught AI like this, overlords is just a term we'd use for horrible men a hundred years before. Not men and robots of today!

It's a misunderstanding that robot will do what they are made to do.
Love it....!!!!!
These kind of videos help show how versatile the robots are even in things they will never be used for
On one side you have one man that came up with the moves on the spot and on the other side you have a machine that required a thousand hours of programming by a team of people.

Not really!
Yes the movements are being mimiced great, but it is super freaky
@@argovals Freaky? I think this is amazing. It looks so fluid it's like an animation. Can't wait for this (or more advanced) level of robotics to be able to be utilized daily and on a global scale.
@@2Dzz Cause a robot being able to move so fluidly and so freely means they will soon (relatively) be able to do a ton of different tasks, potentially as many as a human can, and that'd be amazing and incredibly useful for all of humanity.
It's gonna be especially exciting when this kinda stuff starts entering the average person's daily life instead of being very expensive and locked to only specific people and uses.

When I see the natural movements of robots, I can only think of how amazing they are.
Thank God, it's smashed CGI out of the ballpark

I legitmately get the OPPSITE of the "The uncanny valley" effect when I watch this. My brain sees these robots making such human like movements that I keep telling myself "This looks like a Pixar animation!" ... You guys have pretty much convinced my brain to want to think these are making more human movements then robotic. Big steps
The "uncanny valley" pertains to visual resemblance to humans, not merely their movements.
This why so many of the new service-robots are trying to look significantly _different_ from humans, facially, eg. with oversized eyes with no socket/brow modeling, tiny noses and mouths, etc. The makers don't want to creep people out: it's a robot, no two ways about it.
That's just bloody phenomenal!!!
