The hallmark of a great guitar intro is that everybody knows what song is coming. When Tom starts the acoustic intro, the crowd goes nuts. Great intro, one of the best in rock music IMHO.
Echo that bought both first two albums on vinyl but only recently revisited … aside from radio listening. When you really analyze the production, playing, and then pinch yourself to remind you that the original album is 47 years young.. awesome all round albums
Do you know why hardly any live bands do Boston. Covers? Well obviously nobody can sing most of the songs. I mean they could. But wouldn't do justice. It was the time when we listened our favorite music recorded on compact cassettes. Only a handful of people had the actual vinyl records. I've been an avid fan since I first heard " Don't Look back'. Saw them live in Charleston, WV in the 70s. For me, Tom Sholtz IS Boston. The other members are great and play his songs amazingly well however Tom is the heart and soul of the band and my guitar hero. His leads move me more than any I've ever heard. Keep rockin Boston.
Tom S a clever man,Pioneer of Boston,He created and wrote the first music More Than a Feeling and with the golden voice of Brad Delp, the Band became Famous
Great post! Boston is still phenomenal! All guitar preamps, power amps and bass amps, effects etc., brought to you by scholz Research and Development-lots of blue on that stage 😀
Okay, tragically no Brad Delp and I admit, I approached this clip with some dread. But it's friggin great. Tommy is a superb singer in his own right and the band sounds fantastic. Ok so only one original member but how many other bands can recreate their old material this well? Great stuff, rock on!

With all due respect to everyone who has been part of the sound since the 70s Tom is Boston and always brought in others to help present live what he created. Brad’s vocals somehow matched Tom’s vision and magic was created as the music was given the perfect voice. Tommy has done an amazing job at giving fans a glimpse back at the past 40 years and brought a bit of Brad’s magic to the fans today.

Brad's voice is incomparable to no one else. Boston is Brad and no else, but that's just my responsibility. All this does not detract from Decarlo Tommy talent, let's be clear (French fan).
Agreed, close mics will get that massive attack. The pitch bend requires samples though, it's not possible to tune drum heads to bend a full 5th and still maintain volume/sustain. So I've built my own tom samples to match these.
im a drummer, we use plexiclass to keep our sound in, plus the bans sound out, the drummer hears his drum kit better,,,,,and the sound of the cymbals does drown the guitars out,,,
Tom is the best.
What he created will never be topped.
Boston not only is the band members but the fans as well. Timeless music belongs to all of us !

Right now Brad's voice it's not quite the same, you surely had to llower the song a bit.

Brad Delp was in a group all his own.One of the toughest to sing to.He hit the high notes better than anyone.
Absolute legends.......

I was at this show. They were good, but their 2012 tour was spot on! Instrumentally perfect. Not thrilled with vocals.
In studio Brad was the best!
And the crowd goes wild😂
great song !!!!!
Very very very very nice!!!
Racks and Racks of Scholz Rockman inc the Bass! I didn't think that 80's solid state gear was still around today.
So glad they dressed up for the occasion.
The new singer, he is good. His voice is very similar to Brads, at least I think they sound pretty alike. But he is very boring on stage.
I agree, he is not moving fast, or getting the crowd to sing into the Mic! He tried his best thoug!
@@jarrodschroeder5297 I'm sure he could learn some moves, but some people may be better at some aspects of performing than they are at others.
