    Lots of people in Dagestan are very sporty, but there are a lot of intelligent people too. My grandfather is from Dagestan and during WW2 he had to skip school to help at the factory. After the war ended he was determined to become an engineer but it was hard for him to apply to a good university cuz he missed so much of school. So he learned several math books all by himself within 3 months period, got accepted into prestigious university and became a very successful Soviet engineer. Lots of people in Caucasus are very stubborn and disciplined it just has to be directed into right fields. Khabib is a good example of that.

      @Thetraveller Lightbringer ISLAM THROUGH WESTERN EYES
      CHAPTER 2: ISLAM AND SCIENCE
      The discourse for the birth and subsequent history of modern science is controlled by the West as a series of myth like events, including the heresy trial of Galileo, the Renaissance, and the scientific revolution.
      A troublesome aspect of claiming science as a Western birthright, is Muslim science. From the 8th Century well into the Renaissance, the Muslims led the world in science and produced many of the ideas and technologies that are today bound up with common, accepted notions of Western civilization. The following are a few prominent examples uncovered up to date:
      the algebra of Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi (ca. 780-ca. 850)
      the perfection of trigonometry;
      the pioneering chemistry of Gaber (ca. 721-ca. 815);
      the medical teachings and psychological insights of the Persian polymath Avicenna (980-1037);
      the geographical works of Muhammad al-Idrisi (1099-1166);
      the rationalist philosophy of Averroës (1126-1198);
      the engineering marvels of Abu al-Jazari (1136-1206);
      the theoretical innovations in mathematical astronomy of Nasir al-din Tusi (1201-1274)
      The arrival of Muslim science in the Latin West in the eleventh and twelfth centuries sparked two significant responses: its eager embrace by an emerging social elite of educated Urban intellectuals, scholars, and professionals and the equally impassioned denunciation of it as black magic by more entrenched social, religious, and political interests.
      Once the building blocks of Islamic science and philosophy were sufficiently mastered and naturalized, however, Europe was able to free itself from any acknowledgment of the Arab contribution. The early humanists of the fourteenth century, led by Petrarch, advanced their own careers at court, in the rising cities and towns, and in the church hierarchy by promoting a new, “reborn” European learning whose roots lay in an idealised notion of ancient Greece and Rome.
      Here, the discourse of Islam as fundamentally irrational proved a powerful tool of social advancement for this new generation of scholars and bureaucrats, schooled in Greek and the classical Latin of Cicero rather than in the language of the Qurʾan, al-Khwarizmi, and Avicenna.
      The French algebra of the sixteenth century deployed this same discourse to denigrate Muslim scholarship as a prelude to the creation of their own history of mathematics and the ensuing enhancement of their academic and professional prestige and of their political and social influence.
      Nineteenth-century Europe elevated elements of this narrative-that the Muslims were irrational and thus intellectually ill suited to the rigours of metaphysics and abstract thought in general-to a “scientific” principle supporting and justifying the West’s colonisation of Eastern lands.
      Each of these distinct social groups successfully invoked the Western discourse of Islam along the way, reinforcing its power and institutionalising its teachings.
      Neither our knowledge of the Islamic intellectual tradition nor our knowledge of ourselves and our “Western” culture is the better for it.
      Similar process (other discourses) have shaped our views of a range of issues that seemingly divide East from West: violence, religious warfare, and the rights of women.

And his facial symetery is not right, as his mouth is not set in the correct position which is a tell tale sign of inbreeding. Inbreeding is not prohibited in Islam, Muhammed himself married his first cousin. Quote from the Quran:
      "Prohibited to you (For marriage) are:- Your mothers, daughters, sisters; father's sisters, Mother's sisters; brother's daughters, sister's daughters; foster-mothers (Who gave you suck), foster-sisters; your wives' mothers; your step-daughters under your guardianship, born of your wives to whom ye have gone in,- no prohibition if ye have not gone in;- (Those who have been) wives of your sons proceeding from your loins; and two sisters in wedlock at one and the same time, except for what is past; for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful".
      Every family member outside those is fair game. In a civilized world, we call this incest.

      Elijah Ozdo he's not wrong. muslims, especially in the middle east (which is really where the study he is quoting is from) are horribly plagued by inbreeding. I'm about as far left as it gets but that's just a fact. Not racism. Also, on that note Muslims are a religion not a race.

    this video puts into perspective why Khabib couldn't pretend everything was ok after the fight and shake Conor's hand. Conor and his team crossed the line when they insulted Khabib's father, country, religion, and even threatened Khabib's life. not to mention the bus attack that left two fighters injured (one with glass in his eyes). that's not the way to promote a fight. yet Dana not only did not penalize Conor, he awarded him with the fight against Khabib and Conor's whiskey to be a sponsor for the UFC. and what did he do to Khabib for jumping the fence? he's withhelding his paycheck and did not put the belt around Khabib supposedly because he was afraid a riot would start and he was worried for Khabib and the fans' safety. really?! Dana allowed Conor to set the tone for this to happen and obviously wasn't worried about Khabib's safety if he used the bus footage to promote UFC 229. and he's banning Khabib's teammates from ever fighting in the UFC for attacking Conor and compliments Conor for not pressing charges. what he didn't mention was that Conor threw the 1st punch when Khabib's brother or cousin went to protect Khabib after Khabib jumped out of the cage.
    to the few people complaining about this video calling Khabib a savage- i'm assuming you're not from the US but here the word "savage" has different meanings. it doesn't only mean someone who's evil and violent. it can also be used as a slang to compliment someone so good at something that he or she completely dominates. Michael Jordan, for example, was a savage in basketball. so when he says Khabib is a savage, he's not saying he's not humble or a good person. he's just referring to Khabib being a dominant fighter and being very tough because of his upbringing

      yes khabib is a brilliant fighter and dominated the fight and won fair and square but the second he jumped the cage and attacked not only connors corner men but others he took it a step tòo far. he would have gaind more respect if he stayed humble and got his belt in the ring then he could of spoke shit about conor and his team to the entire world and make them look foolish. khabib is a tough man no doubt about it a very quiet and dangerous man also. hes good at what he does which is why he is a champ but things should of bèen done differently. im not a hater just a ufc supporter i wasnt supporting either fighter i was just watching it to see two good fighters go at it. its now up to Nevada State Athletic Comission where it goes from here and i hope they dont come down to hard on khabib for what he done as i think it was all just a spare of the moment thing full of adrenillin.🔱

    im sorry to admit that i was not originally a fan of this guy. But after watching several of his fights now and interviews,etc. Im humbled to say how wrong i was. this man can be nothing but deeply respected for his talents,dedication,hard work and the way he carries himself. Forget the fact that hes a muslim or Russian for a second... Besides being the baddest grappling m.f.on this planet, the way he dominates guys, this guy is a real fighter, a real man,..what a real badass..
