Umineko is absolutely an emotional rollercoaster when it comes to the story so the music is definitely fitting.
The only emotion I get is I want to party 😆
@@AtlasBenighted I wonder whether a song in another genre may change your preconception that you've developed about the Umineko soundtrack. It is extremely varied and the electronic songs by zts are only one part of it. I personally prefer the piano pieces by dai, particularly "Hope". On the other hand "Deep Blue Jeer" or "Golden Nocturne" should also prove very interesting.
Maybe it would also help to know that Umineko is a deconstruction of classic murder mysteries that involves the walls between reality and fiction eroding, getting crazier and crazier with every installment, but still with a very tight set of rules that gives a rational and extremely clever explanation for all the stuff that is happening.

Worldenddominator is derived from another track in the game called "Worldend", which sounds really mellow, sleepy and defeatist and plays during some tearjerker scenes in the VN. "Worldenddominator" is a callback to that track when all of that is thrown into chaos and they are trying to OWN the madness they are thrown into. I love the multiple leitmotifs throughout the Umineko soundtracks ❤
Umineko not only has the best story of all time, but also a banger Soundtrack
To be precise, Umineko is labeled more of a sound novel than a visual novel. The visual effects aren't that important - the early versions of the game didn't even have voice acting, drawn backgrounds, or professional character drawings. Right from the start, the developers focused mainly on the soundtrack and sound effects.
The author of the script did the drawings, just like he did with Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni. He improved a lot since that novel, he is also doing the same for Ciconia no Naku Koro Ni. The different drawings are from adaptations that include even voice acting I believe. In any case, the story is incredible and so is the soundtrack of all the novels he has made.

Zits os truly one of the greatest composers. Also i recommend you check out Umineko ost "Patchword Chimera" it has such a powerful atmosphere.

This track is another one of my favourites and I feel it enhances the already layered atmosphere to the VN’s terrific writing even more and more and I absolutely love it for that !!
My respect to the writer Ryushiki07, the composers and everyone who were involved with Umineko and other works such as Higurashi and now Ciconia as it’s literally a goldmine for all sorts of things in the VN sphere.

True, this one is intended for intense action and played at peaks of certain story parts to enhance the momentum. Another fantastic work, like honestly half of soundtrack lol. As a vivid VN fan I’m also pleased to hear your amusement “I still can’t believe this is from Visual Novel” - because surprisingly a lot of top tier (screw that, even mid ones) novels have godly tracks that leave an impact on listener/reader. People used to look down on VNs as just “interactive books, not real games” and while this statement is true, music and art is often the key to fantastic atmosphere - and visual novels excels at that (bcuz they have to, otherwise ppl would not be interested/will drop the reading). Sometimes composer outdoes himself so much that their tracks for VN is on par with greatest game music - heck, not many AAA games have music THIS good. There are a lot of experiments, blends of genres and such in niche of VN music.

ZTS did amazing work with his classical rave musical tracks.
A lot of ZTS tracks also play during really key revelation or action moments, which really heightens the experience as you progress through the story.
Dreamenddischarger and MirageCoordinator are some other ZTS tracks worth checking out,

Rosa with a shotgun against goat head demon butlers made this song and this scene iconic. This was one of the first songs to display what these visual novels could do with music while a chase/ fight to the death was scrolling on the screen in words. It should not have worked ANYWHERE as well as it did. The music like this track adds energy to a scene with no visual movement as you read and the voices are playing.🥰👍
What's crazy about how climactic this music is that the sequence alone with it constantly earns that feeling of hype, not just in the events but in how the POV character is written as well. "Just try laying a hand on Maria in front of me, I'll show you how gentle the hell you came from is." "I can't let go of the gun that protects my body, and I can't let go of the gold that protects my future. But in doing so, haven't I let go of Maria, who is my future?" "We'll make for the beaches as fast as we can; after that, nothing to do but swim, swim, swim! There's nothing but death left on this island!"
The Umineko visual novel is insane with it's plot and twists, it's incredible and very recommended, everyone should read it.
I have listened the shit out of this BANGER when I was starting uni (and still do). It just popped out of nowhere while I was listening to some random music. Because of it I am very interested in playing the game which are actually on Steam.
The only visual novel I have played a lot is Ace Attorney and they are an absolute masterpiece on character writing, mystery and music implementation on the scenes. I think you would enjoy playing them, they are very dynamic and energetic. I hope you also react to some more Ace Attorney as well as Umineko OST!
