- Part 4: Walk with us on the Camino Frances as we leave Burgos and enter the Meseta. We visit the towns of Hontanas, Frómista, Carrión de los Condes, Sahagún, Reliegos, and end in León with it's stain glass filled cathedral.
We started our walk on August 7, 2023 in Le Puy-en-Velay. After spending 28 days walking in France, we arrived at Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port on September 3rd. From there, we continued on the Camino Frances, arriving in Santiago de Compostela on September 29, 2023.

This is Lainey's second time walking the Camino Frances and Shawn's 4th. We hiked the Via Podiensis, Camino Primitivo, and Camino de Invierno in 2023, the Camino del Norte in 2019, and the Camino Frances in 2017. We packed ultralight bags for all of our journeys.

The camino has an unbelievable appeal to me as soon as i see it. I don't know exactly why, it's hard to describe. It's probably a supernatural thing. Will be on that part of the Camino a week from now.
Agree! It is hard to describe. Buen Camino!
Yep. I went to that place in Intero De La Vega. Same experience. Expensive, took forever, not so tasty. Definitely a good recommendation to pick up food in Hontanas!
Woah, good to know it wasn’t just us with this issue.
Ant believe how fast they cover the Meseta! Walking studs!
Thanks! Our walking days in France prepared us for it!
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 to hung over walking out of Burgos!😅 that day was probably one my favorite memories tbh
HAHAHA. YUP! It's always a great day and a funny one, too.
I love your videos. My previous Camino I began in Leon, so missed most of the Meseta. Strange, I looking forward to it this summer. Of all the videos on the Camino I watch, you are the ones I would love to walk a day with. Buen Camino.
Oh wow, thank you so much! We hope to cross paths with you someday. Buen Camino.
Lots of nice memories from this stage. Thanks. Buen Camino!
We’re glad we could help bring up the good memories. Buen Camino!
How wonderful, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I really enjoyed yours videos around the Camino and especially your sensei of humor. I have done the Camino 17 times and I hope top do It some times more. Thank you for your videos.
Thank you so much! 17 Caminos is amazing! Buen Camino.
Agree, the Meseta is really magical and pure. I luv it! I stayed in Rabè de las Calzadas (as a short day option) x 2 Camino and ate at the wonderful Fuente bar - hotel, lovely people. Wow I totally missed the municipal Alburgue at Reliegos? Had no idea it had one 😮 you always learn something new. Thanks for Sharing your adventures with us again guys…
Dave 😊
Oh! We always wanted to stay in Rabé but it's never worked out. Glad you got to experience the lovely Fuente bar, too.
Thanks for watching!
Great videos! I love it.
Thank you so much!
Great video, I completed the same step in September, brings back great memories, Buen Camino
Glad we could stir up the great memories! When in September did you walk? We departed Burgos on September 14th.
Ah it was one week after you about 20 Sept.,the day before I visited Segovia, well worth it, Buen Camino @@DaysWeSpend
Meseta builds character. It’s the master who ensures the apprentice understands the values of patience & practice, boredom & tedium, and death & suffering. 🥃
Yes! Very well said.
For some reason just when I clicked on this video, the sound stopped working on my CZcams ap. It does that sometimes. Laney's lips were moving but there was no sound. I thought maybe she didnt have her hearing aids in, so I couldn't hear her. But then that didn't make any sense 😂
I really like how you have little tips going in or out of each town. You should write a guide book, because I'm going to forget them all by the time I get to walk the Camino!
We're glad you like the tips. Sometimes they're pieces of information from our guidebooks. :)
That's so weird that your app isn't letting the audio play. Maybe you can try updating or reinstalling it? We haven't heard anyone else with the issue. (LOL about the hearing aids)
¿Qué tal esa casi interminable recta hasta Calzadilla de la Cueza? Parecía que se la tomaron con buen humor 😅
¡Ese tramo pasó tan rápido esta vez! Caminar con amigos me ayudó mucho.
@@DaysWeSpend Seguro. Nunca he tenido esa suerte. Buen Camino 🤝
Great video!
Where did you guys get the wax stamp and ate there any other places on the Frances you can get one? Thanks !!
Thank you!
There are a few guys who set up tables along the Meseta and have wax stamps. They're van life people, so we're not sure if they are around every summer. We got ours literally in the middle of nowhere, and there was another guy in Moratinos.
@@DaysWeSpend thank you for responding !!
@@roundtheworlddiva8610 you're welcome!
Great video. How did you make your map for the video?
Thank you! We made it with Canva.
