Poor Dr. Lingard. Imagine trying to keep your oath as a physician and unwittingly let a murderous alien aboard via the patient you’re trying to help and it tries to kill everyone on board the station.
Playing this alongside you for the first time but on hard mode. I am moving infinitely slower but having so much fun… as a huge Alien fan this game is a dream!!!!
San Cristobal Medical Facility is simply the best part of the game, maybe except for the reactor core part... Loving the series!

Loving this play through. It’s a breath of fresh air seeing you play something you are familiar with a really love. My favourite part was of course the medical facility - that was the part of the game where I noped out bc I couldn’t take the stress and terror any more 😂
Me too! The very first time I played the game, I ended up quitting for two years once I reached the medical facility! It's so stressful! 🤣 But once the flamethrower comes out you can defend yourself a little bit 🙂

Will there be more? I can't lie I'm obsessed with this game and you are one of very few people who are fun to watch. You actually know what you're doing and don't make brain dead mistakes every 3 steps like most other people. I've enjoyed this quite a lot.

I think it stems from my Alien PTSD as my older brother made me watch the first 2 movies before I was even 10.
Incidentally, there's a really good video on YT that goes into detail about the Alien's AI in this game, which was a good/interesting watch.
The medical wing is as far as I got in the game - it's brilliantly done but the tension generated by the Alien stalking you was just too much for me. Just seeing the area again gives me anxiety.
It's not that bad tbh especially if you look at walkthroughs beforehand. The biggest spoiler in the game has to do with Apollo orders

I watched a review of this game when it came out that gave me the impression that it was completely different and not very good. But watching your play through really makes me want to give it a try, it looks so fun!

It's insane that the Switch has the best version, at least on consoles and ors gorgeous on the OLED in handheld. I really hope we get a sequel to this.
Would be nice but considering they have had just shy of nearly a decade I am not hopeful. If the SAME company came out with a sequel? FIRST IN LINE HERE!
This game was kind of a strange development in and of itself. Firstly it's a survival/horror game when they are considered niche and not necessarily dependable money makers. Secondly it was developed by Creative Assembly of all developers which is overwhelmingly known for making the Total War series which is NOTHING like Alien: Isolation. All this combined with the fact that it didn't meet Segas sales expectations leads me to believe we'll never get a sequel. Also the amount of time that has passed since its release.
God the console versions were so bad, I had to download the PC version...the Chromatic abberation was so awful

Yeah, I just discovered that she played AI on her channel, so I decided to watch. Imagine my surprise when she's gone 6-months now since she last played, and never finished the game. Very weird! She gets props for playing on Nightmare though. But I have beat the game on Easy, Medium, and Hard. But I have replayed the game at least a dozen times total. Its such an amazing game. Not sure why she stopped playing this game on her channel, makes no sense to me.

2:30:21 I never really noticed before, but Waits was offered a way out of his literally dead-end career on Sevastopol and refused to take it in spectacular fashion - even risking the life of an innocent person in order to kill the alien once and for all. I mean he's still a bastard, but there is a kind of integrity about him. Who says this game has poor character development!
I don't know what happened, but I was playing this game, got lost after 30 minutes, and didn't know what I was doing for 3 hours because I was walking really slowly and without light. So I just gave up
Please give Red Dead 2 another go. Best game storyline ever.

How do you tell when it’s in the vents and when it’s not?
I can hear it moving in them! Sometimes it's hard to tell with all the other noise though! But other times it's really obvious because you'll hear it's feet squeaking in the vents and moving about haha

I beat Isolation on Nightmare on my PS4 and I don't remember anything about not having a map or having a broken motion detector AT ALL. Weird.
That’s how it is. No map and broken motion sensor. Honestly I prefer the hard mode difficult as it’s fun to use those 2 tools.

Early on you wonder if your "missing items"? You're good at ferreting out the stuff laying around. I have played all the way through on HARD. (Took me almost exactly 40 hours as recorded by STEAM. I too explore a lot but the game is decently long.) You chose NIGHTMARE so no, you won't find as much "stuff" laying about. One of the "difficulty" buffs on NIGHTMARE. Also, the tracker become glitchy working on and off, also NO MAPS, you can gather them for credit on gathering but map access is severed, also the flame thrower uses 100 per short burst of fuel and everything takes more hits to kill and hits you for more damage. Which you can't tell because the health bar is hidden now.
Because... This game wasn't nearly hard enough on Hard setting lmao!
Yes she mentioned those limitations in the first episode. I think she's still worried she's missing what little loot there's left.
