  • Floating trout waters in the summertime is something that is typical out West, but not quite so common in the East. There are occasions though when summer thunderstorms create opportunities to take advantage of the high water and break out the raft. In this video we were pounded by some heavy rains which allowed us to do a float trip on one of our favorite trout streams in our 3-person raft. Hope you enjoy the video!

    If you catch a creek chub you have to wear a sombrero. Great video!

    Great video, guys! But then again, that's nothing new, I've enjoyed all your videos. It helps break up the winter blues up here in Upstate New York. Come on Spring!!

      Lol I know, right!?! It's been difficult to find the time lately as my wife and I just had a baby and Dan is in the army. Hope to get videos out more frequently in the future though! I appreciate the support!

    Nice float boys! Man... the entire time I was screaming in my head, "Throw streamers!" Still some very nice fish to net. Nice work.

    Awe man I’m just dying to know if a big fat streamer bashing the banks would do anything! I always find fish on the banks in high water, but looks like clarity might be an issue today. Always good stuff guys!
    Edit: lol I spoke too soon, you said almost exactly that halfway through lol. Tight lines!

      If I were to do this trip again, I'd definitely give a streamer a shot here! Thanks for watching!

    Sweet, good to see another Bruin! Just got ours and have had it out a few times, loving it! Did I see you switched from a fly craft?

      Thanks for the support, Craig! As for the raft, it is a Watermaster Bruin. We found it to be much more stable than a Flycraft and about the same size.

    Do you ever have any issues hauling your raft on the roof of your vehicle? How does it do at higher speeds?

    • @BackyardBassin
      @BackyardBassin  Před rokem

      I have gone up to 70mph with it but it makes me really nervous to be honest. I tend to avoid the highway. My cousin has a flycraft though and regularly travels the highway with that. The watermaster is a bit more bulky though.

    If you lose a fish at the boat you have to walk the plank
