My entire Mod list → modwat.ch/u/benplaysvr/plugins - Hry
I have a new update for VRIK coming out soon - V0.6.0 - which adds the full body back in to VR as well as visible weapon holsters. It's been delayed a lot, but several people are now helping me test it to get the new version ready for release. Hopefully ready this weekend.
Nice! I haven’t tried it yet myself 😁
I love VRIK. Thanks for making that!
(The update going to fix the jumping ring while walking?)
Best mod. Makes a huge difference to feeling IN the world.
@@BenPlaysVR you should!
Thanks for you amazing work !
>mod that gets rid of spiders is in this list
Classic Ben™
😎
"so let's get started with the essential mods. the ones i cannot live without.
The top of that list would be *SCHLONGS OF SKYRIM* "
The mods I can't play skyrim without are the multiple amulets and rings mod and the multiple enchantments mod
Me: I don't need Insects Begone.
*Cave Spider jumps at me in tutorial*
Me: So where do I place it in the load order?
Just got into Skyrim VR and literally shit bricks when I fought the spider in bleak falls temple
my friend, im not afraid of the spiders... im afraid of the smaller spiders i added using other mods... so now i have double the ammount of spiders and those assholes come crawling out of the fucking walls when your not watching
Man I couldn't even fathom getting rid of the spiders in the game. Especially in VR, I feel like the terror you feel fighting those things would translate well into the immersion of the game.
100%
Just bought the vr version today... excited to start my new journey all over again 9 years later.
Idk if you agree but it feels like a new game and the mods make it so fun!!
ive never played skyrim before and decided to start with the VR version lol. Planning to make a little youtube series of it too with my actual reactions lol
Damnit, now i want to play skryim again.
😎
And again... and again... and again......... and again. I love this game
thats what happens when you hang with the wrong crowd
Finally a well dialogued, to the point, review. Absolutely fantastic video. Thank you. I just purchased VR and was on the fence about Skyrim and if it would be any different than just playing non-VR.
I feel a lot more confident buying VR skyrim now. subscribing.
Extremely helpful. Especially all the work you put into the description text with links. Instant like and subscribe!
Nice! This is something I'd been looking for Skyrim VR mod showcases. It looks like i'll finally get around to playing it proper.
😎
Thank you VERY much for taking the time to post these MODS. I recently purchased SkyRim VR after having played about 60 percent of the 2D version of Skyrim. I needed a good VR game after just finishing Half Life: Alyx, Floor Plan 2, The Mages Tale, Arizona Sunshine and a few other VR games.
Happy Gaming :-)
I like Satisfactory's method of dealing with spiders, which is to render a cat sprite on top of them that meows when they make noise.
DUDE! Mage VR, VRIK, and Dragonborn Speaks Naturally!! All three of these are better than every mod you have on this list!
He probably didn't want to tell the popular mods, as it would be boring to echo what everyone else knows.
Devin do you always have to launch the Mage VR app before launching Skyrim? I like the idea of being able to use gestures in place of opening menu screens so I'll be giving it a try for sure.
What about immersive quick slots VR? Skyvoice?
I only wonder what MXR would install.. actually I think we all know what mods he’d have.
Big titteh vr wenches
The dude annoys me with all of his perverted mods like bro, calm it down. It just looks ridiculous and virgin-esque
@@rustcohle3803 That's the point.
Actually, i don't there are many NPC character mods at all for VR
@@Desh681 I can tell you that this is untrue, especially of the degenerate variety😂 most skyrim se character mods work in vr
Requiem + alternative start mod. Now that's a challenge. Currently level 18 summoner and its incredibly interesting.
Great list. I'll be using 17 of them when I restart the game. I feel sorry for you having to remove the spiders. They are so well animated.
Thank you for testing and rating these, subbed.
Great Video. I am always surprised by the Mods I never seen and really need. I am 90 hours in (third play through) without having done any main quest stuff.
Skyrim audio books ? Why didnt i know about this before
FANTASTIC. I was so worried about VR spiders. Like it's a big fear of mine, I don't fancy seeing massive realistic ones coming towards me, I'd completely freak out. For that mod recommendation alone I'll give you a like
man, I came here thinking this was a generic journalist list. This is one of the best gaming content i have ever seen, i already knew some of these mods and you really know what you are talking about. You deserve more views
Thank you! I bought Skyrim VR loong time ago. Tried it for a minute but just couldn't go on with the vanilla quests. Then I modded it but something went wrong and I couldn't fix it and I uninstalled the whole thing. Been waiting for a game to loose myself in but only one I keep coming back is Blade and Sorcery. But I want quests! Came here to find out if any quest mods are available for VR and thanks for mentioning Bruma! And thanks for other tips as well.
I will try again with Skyrim after the Alyx has been out and played maybe dozen times over!
12:00 - A small caveat to add to this: currently both Alinor and Valenwood are not being worked on. There are talks of them working on these areas in the future, but as it stands they are currently not in production.
My jaw dropped at the animated thieves guild cache, it was so ingenious and awesome
This is hands down my favorite of your videos. These mods are amazing and I cant wait to experience them!
Finally we are talking mods!
Thank you
Yeah it’s way overdue 😁
Liked. Already subbed. You've some good finds there. I'll be adding most to my growing list of Skyrim VR compatible mods.
Cool 😎
Great Video! Well done.
So glad you made this video. I had ditched this game because I couldn't think of anything new to do in it. I can now get back into it. 👍
😎
yoooo gooood stuff and and thx for the insect be gone now i can go ham in these caves
You are amazing! I love the mods!
Thanks for this video. Very helpful!
My pleasure 😇
Thank you - what a wonderful video!
This is great, please do some more if possible on immersion modes for Skyrim VR c:
I'll consider that! Thanks! In the meantime, here's my full list if it's useful → modwat.ch/u/benplaysvr
good list .. makes me want to give it another go .
Great video, subbed! :)
I just as of recently decided to give Skyrim VR a try, I honestly don't know what took me so long, but I love it. It immediately felt like a whole different game. Can't wait to get some serious hours in.
how are you enjoying it 4 months later?
If you play Skyrim VR and you plan on being a mage you should definitely at least check out Spellsiphon. There is a short trailer on CZcams you can find by just searching “spellsiphon”. It’s also available for SE and console
BTW Ben, it's great that you link to all the mods but what's missing are links to the time that each is mentioned. As you no doubt know, that's something other video makers do and it's HIGHLY appreciated - being able to skip mods you already know about.
BTW2 I don't know why you don't have more subscribers. I can only assume this channel is fairly new.
Done! Thanks for the tip 😀
@@BenPlaysVR Hey. Quick action on your part. Yeah if you do that for all upcoming videos, and any you have that still get a lot of view, I'm sure it'll help grow your subscriber base more quickly. I'm sure there are many others that prefer low key, NO hype and NO pretend enthusiasm (meaning LOUD) reviews too.
I see you've had this channel about two years. That's decent growth I'd say. As more sub word of mouth, and Likes, should help it grow even faster.
Yesterday was literally the day I played Skyrim for the first time and in VR btw. So far I’m actually enjoying it. Hopefully it stays that way. :3
I must say, this is the absolute best Skyrim Essential mod list for mages and archers
0:17 "we've gotta get those numbers up those are rookie numbers"
I have to thank you so much for this mod list, i love everithing about it!
Except the mod that removes the spiders since i rather have immersive creatures instead haha
Incase you are wondering how to mod skyrim vr, you have to install sksevr on the skse silverlock website, then install mods from the skyrim special edition nexus. Even though the skyrim special edition nexus isn't fully meant for vr, there are still mods meant for vr on there, and skyrim vr doesn't have an official website on nexus.
I started playing Skyrim again except on the Rift S and I am finding the audio super low. Have you had issues with this and how do you fix?
There needs to be a mod that disables stamina so that when you play VR you rely on your stamina in real life rather than ingame
You can probably easily disable stamina, however you would have to take full swings whenever you heavy attack and maybe even have arm weights to make it actually hard to swing like if you were swinging a weapon
If they did that... I wouldn't make it out of the starting area. LOL
Insects begone!?!?! NO WAY! I love squishing big'ol spiders in VR. ha
Thanks for your list. Many of these I have, some just seeing for the first time.
Also, I agree.. VR is the best way to experience Skyrim.
😎
I shittet my pants the fist time i saw how fkn big the spiders where in vr. I´m totaly not afraid of spiders irl, in fact i kind of like them but holy moly if someone has arachnophobia this is probaly a overkill for them.
If I could play Enderal in VR that'd make me get a setup.
Listen. I'm a huge arachnaphobe. I literally have a spider in my room right now that I'm too afraid to kill. But I couldn't ever imagine removing the spiders from Skyrim. Why? Well, I think it just has to do with truly being afraid. This fear reminds me that I am playing a living being. Especially in VR.
I feel you dude, I have a thing about rats tho... my sister hates spiders . I had to kill them a lot for her back then.
In vr, the skeevers creep me out but I can still kill them cuz I hate them... channel your hatred, it works lol
not afraid of spiders but they are huge and not nice to be facing in vr, although all of a sudden having a giant saber tooth cat or bear jump on you is scary in its own right
finally a good Skyrim mod video from a good CZcamsr.
😁
Nice video. Your visual blend really well together. Mind listing off some of your visual mods. Also are the mountains in the distance blurred a bit? Looks really good with the clouds/fog.
Thanks! Full mod list here → modwat.ch/u/benplaysvr
Good stuff!
Scoped Bows! So cool... I should try Skyrim VR again, just played so much on PC I couldn't get into it in VR as much for some reason.
😎
Great video. I especially appreciate the mention of that grass performance mod. Skyrim VR runs really bad on my computer, so I'll have to give that a shot.
Thank you 😊
Thank you for the great video, but even more so for the link to the guides
Cant wait to try some of these once oculus helps me fix my rift issues
Thanks, it's very useful, even for a Skyrim veteran
My pleasure 😇
Thank you so much!!
omg Insects Be Gone ftw... my biggest apprehension going into this game.
This is pretty great.
😎
I always wonder what goes through people's heads when they downvote a perfectly good video was it an accident did you bump thumbs down did you not like something they said did you not like a mod did you not like the video? Your contents awesome and I really like your videos I can't believe I haven't been subscribed you before but I'm very glad this popped up
i'm under the impression that downvoting something lets youtube know you don't want that content showing up in your feed. it actually has a positive effect for creators as it counts towards user engagement. you tube wants to know what people do and don't like to better match content.
Thanks!!
great video thanks :)
My pleasure 😇
Again, showing that you have such great sense for what kind of content people would like to see.
You’re too kind 😊
bought skyrim vr a couple of days ago (christmas 2021) and installed my 1st couple of mods yesterday.. its so easy with the likes of nexusmods and vortex.. i'm like a kid in a sweet shop.. insects begone.. plus i'm assuming there'll be a stack more newer mods.. its christmas day tho, so i'll have to wait a couple of days😳
Nice top 20! But, can i play Skyrim VR with mods, and keep the achievements active? Do you know the way?
I noticed a guy running toward you to the top of a slope, then stopping and letting you shoot him. I had a big problem with enemies and followers not being aggressive until I removed a mod that "improved" sneaking. I think the combatants were just not seeing each other, even when they clearly should have.
Loved this video thank you. I was wondering if you ever had an issue with flickering/shimmering on different textures; trees, grass, mountains, buildings etc. if so do you have any guidance on how to fix it? I have tried all I could research to this point.
It could be your TAA settings. Check out the guides on the Skyrim VR Reddit! www.reddit.com/r/skyrimvr/
Hello Ben thanks for great video, i look forward for new videos about your mods! I have a question, did you use any ENB?
No ENB for me. But I do use Cathedral Weathers 😁
I guess I'll start a new game again ^^ Legend says I will reach the end, one day... I still use the mods that were used when Special Edition came out, but now I see that there are better alternatives I must check out
Yeah do it!
You have to love the fact that one of your must have mods is to get rid of the spiders :-)
@Ben Plays VR Here's another mod you can add to your Essentials. It's truly an essential mod for me. www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/21811
It puts physical positions around your body, based on your headsets orientation and position, that are essentially quickslots. (gotta be facing forwards)
So if i click over my left shoulder, i get Mage Light in my left hand. If i click over my right shoulder i get thunderbolt in both hands. My forehead is telekinesis. My left chest is close wounds. right chest is dragonhide. Right arm is leech seed(mod spell), and left arm is Change Weather (mod spell, my PC can't handle heavy rains.) You can add slots and move positions in the XML by editing it, as well as manually changing what each slot does.
Once your install it, and run your game and it generates the new vrcustomquickslot_xxxxxxxxx.xml in your skse/plugins folder, you should manually edit it to change the equipment/spells that you own. Once you do that, you can change what equipment or spells goes into which slot in game.
You can assign it to equip something in your right hand, left hand, or both hands.
I play seated, and this mod as been a game changer for me. Which is why all my slots are upper body. It's the only thing that made SkyrimVR playable for me. It's truly an essential mod.
Thank you!!
I can't play without Ordinator. So I will be getting that to work. I've play so much Skyrim, but just got it for VR, be trying that for the first time tonight
Hello! Ben, I just entered the SkyrimVR world, tried to use the direct movement but it's so dizzy. Could you share your settings of movement? It's really smooth in your videos.
Change FOV
Try to get motion sickness meds... I heard it helps... all of my family can't handle vr which saddens me. I used to get car sick and headaches from playing too much halo 3 as a kid... not everybody can get used to it like I did.
When I get back from basic training I'm getting an oculus quest and this definitely the first game I'm buying.
Note that this doesn’t run natively on the Quest. Details here → czcams.com/video/qI4xwFpQ6Uw/video.html
Does Mods compatibles with Skyrim SE are. Compatible with Skyrim VR ?
Like music replacement, cities/region, Meshes/Textures overhault ?
I loved playing Skyrim and was curious should I even bother with the VR version. Adding mods will be so cool
Hey Ben, how do you get your game to be stable with so many mods? Which program do you use as mod manager and do you use other programs to keep it in a stable loading order? I'm used to modding skyrim with NMM but eventually it would go unstable.
Thanks for all the videos you made me buy a oculus rift s!
Thanks! It took a lot of trial and error to get the mod list stable, and I needed to cut out a lot of problem mods in the process. I use Mod Organizer 2, but Vortex is a good simple alternative.
I used a bunch of mods for skyrimSE using Vortex. Do I need to download a VR version of these mods, or can I use Vortex to use the same ones that are already in its inventory?
Hi, loved the vid btw.
Some of the mods I checked on Nexus state "Skyrim Special edition", specially the Scoped bows VR?
Also do the normal mods for Skyrim work in the VR for example the graphics and sound ones which work in the original
Keep up the good work/vids
Thanks! Most SSE mods work in VR 😁
@@BenPlaysVR Brill thanks
Audiobooks of skyrim is a must-have, even works when the game is frozen up!
Took me awhile to sort out SkyUI, but I was getting it from Nexus; took me awhile to find the github for it, but here we are.. Ben linked it straight out. Doh!
For SKSE, I added it to Steam launcher, so I wouldnt' forget to run it..
1) Run Natural Loco
2) Run the SKSE fdrom steam that I added, good to go :)
Inverse Kinematics is awesome, too; VRIK .. looks very cool and makes things feel much better, somehow
Cool 😎
May I suggest Legacy of Dragonborn? It adds tones of hours of gameplay, while giving player a place to hold items they discover during their adventure, creating a very nice sense of progression. A must for those with an itch for collection
ah~ my apology. I noticed that on your full list you do have LoD.
No worries! Yeah it’s great 😁
I use the oculus quest 2 wireless to my pc with virtual desktop and she sideloaded patch. I assume since I use vortex as mod manager that instead pf starting through steam vr button of virtual desktop I need to go to Vortex through oculus and start it from there just like I do a regular modded pc game? Wasnt sure that audiobooks worked since there is just mod for Skyrim SE
No love for VRIK? That's my personal favorite Skyrim VR mod. I recommend anyone who may be reading this give it a look, it's seriously impressive in how well it works and how much it adds to the experience of playing Skyrim in VR.
This is definitely one of the most important ones IMO, VR body was a gimmick and broken but VRIK fixed everything and made it usable. Of course there are a lot of mods that can break VRIK but it's still practically a must have
Great point! I haven’t tried it yet myself 😁
@@oswith971 I agree, I'm thinking of trying some mod quests that was broken by vr body I think
Please try simple realistic archery for skyrim vr! You have to reach your back for a new arrow, it's super fun and makes it more balanced since you can't go legolas all the time....
Edit: nvm you can still legolas
I'm glad to see that Beyond Skyrim works with Skyrim VR, does anybody know if Skywind would also work?
Ahhh maaan. Now i need to install skyrim vr again..... :P
Hey all! New to modding and read a bit but I have a question about mass mod-ing. Is there a way to use the mod list you shared to download them enmass? I'm about 15 through your whole list and I test every 10 or so but this is tedious, lol
Could you list your visual mods, your game looks stunning! Especially like the fog.
Thanks! Full mod list here → modwat.ch/u/benplaysvr
I have a HTC Vive, and for some reason the controllers are not being recognized. Only my xbox controller. Has anyone ever had this issue? If so what's the resolution?
Please try out Better Vanilla Perks as it works with VR :) It is a mod similar to a light version of Ordinator, but it retains some vanilla familiarities with increased build variety.
Thanks for the tip! 😁
That is my perk mod of choice. It makes poisoning and archery work much better.
too sad that SKSE and skyUI just wont work with me :/ every time i install them things to wrong horribly.
Does anybody happen to know if its possible to get the mod "crimes against nature" on vr?
Ive tried installing it a number of different ways but my game doesn't want to start once I install it.. :(
Can you make a seperate video on how to install these mods? Cause installing everything from start to finish is gonna take a while and can be overwhelming for people that are not used to installing nexus mods.
+1, I've been looking for a modding guide with mostly immersive or lightweight improvements so I can mostly run skyrim vr in 90fps.
Is there mods for the ps4 version
Could you explain the basics on how to mod Skyrim VR in 2019? There are lots of videos with contradicting statements on how to install a Skyrim VR mod. Please help. I just want to see the world of Skyrim with mods once in my life.
Here's a good starter guide. Using Vortex makes it pretty easy! → www.reddit.com/r/skyrimvr/comments/89y2sl/guide_using_mods_with_vortex_the_best_mods/
Great video, but you could show some lighting modes comparisons, i tried ELFX and RLO, but i dont know if there are more modes like that
Whenever I tried lighting mods I would always see weird flickering, but maybe I did it wrong 😀
@@BenPlaysVR Try ELFX is the best and is really a game changer, after that i got my real WOW in the game (i didnt like RLO very much) and if you gonna try ELFX use the hardcore mode in dungeons and you really have to use the torch or light spells, it`s really awesome
what i do want to know is which controler do you use for this game in vr ?
insects begone is for cowards 🗿
That's right, I said cowards!
the giant saber cats and bears scared me alot more when they jump out of nowhere
Seems like the scope on the bows aren’t precise at all idk what to do
