Be afraid of an angry team ! The coach is gone and let’s move on with the players who will continue to prosper our program and get a coach who will infuse himself in the Aggie culture. There is something about College Station, good people !

That is the stupidest idea I have heard yet. Embroiling our baseball program in even more controversy would be like taking poison. We don’t need a lawsuit, we need a new coach. If we keep stirring the s__t, we will only wind up getting it all over us! Right now we have the opportunity to step away clean and move forward. You are suggesting we should s__t and fall back in it!

Texas wants what A&M has. A&M has SEC acceptance, successful baseball coach, great players.
Texas cries until they get to join A&M in the SEC. They throw money at A&M coach to steal him. Trying to get A&M players as well. Why are they wanting what A&M has if Texas is so much better at everything?

Achloss losing streak at MCWS may be the longest running now that he helped the Vols break the 25-year non- top rated team winning. Schloss will be deemed the guy that can't win the big one at TU after his first season by their fans. He spoke of doing baseball right and the baseball Gods will pay you, The baseball Gods were pre-punishing Schloss with two tough losses. This play has probably been in the works just days after TU was accepted into the SEC as even Schloss wouldn't have made the move if TU was still in the Big 12. All scripted as a SEC farm system for the coaching staff before TU's first SEC campaign. Always looking for the advantage at any cost, TU.

Father Figure? We're still talking about baseball, right?
Look, as a diehard Longhorns fan I will say Schloss could have and should have handled this better. I think the way he handled this was completely out of line, and if I was an Aggies fan I'd be pissed too. I too believe there was a level of deception here. I believe he simply figured this was his last big opportunity to cash in on his career.
I was just on Olsen field this past weekend coaching my kids in a baseball tournament, and I will tell you this. Nicest College Baseball stadium hands down. Nowhere else measures up to Bluebell Park. So the question is, what is he looking for? I cannot believe this is simply to be with Chris Del Conte as he mentioned in his introductory presser.
As for the lying Boomer, you're naive to believe that isn't the case at every D1school in the nation.
I openly admit I cheered the Aggies in the CWS. Jace Laviolette's senior year at Tompkins was my son's freshman year. I loved watching him play in high school, and I tune in to support him every chance I get in his journey. Even with Texas A&M.

Very classy comment! Thank you for your candor! So many of the comments we are getting from your peers in the longhorn fan base, are putting their arrogance on vivid display. Your comment was measured analytical and candid without being arrogant. As Aggies we need to stop whining and move on. Texas did to us exactly what we did to TCU. All is fair in love, war and college athletics. But we absolutely need to fire our new A.D. He obviously did not have his finger on the pulse of our baseball program! Whose job is that, if not his?

@@markschneider3947 So many of both of our peers seem to forget that we bring out the best in our competition with each other. We are greater because of our rivalry. Our history is storied, and our competition is always at a premium due to our intense rivalry. One or both of us can be having an "off" season in any sport, but when we meet it's electric. Of course we give each other a lot of grief, but that's just part of it.

Valid post. I think Texas just hired a horrible person and everything is now on the table about him. Not gonna help his effort to recruit and it will be a permanent stain. People matter or people should matter. Clearly Schloss care about one thing. It aint A&M and it sure isnt Texas or TCU either. It is all about the mirror.

Appreciate the classy remarks. It’s been decades since coaching my kids and so I am old enough to vividly remember how bitter this rivalry has been. And while I agree that rivalries bring out the best in us; I have seen it bring out the worst at times. This move brought that all back. I do think that Schloss may have been surprised by the leak of these rumors the day before and possibly was not intending to leave so quickly.I dont know much about CDC other than he seems to be good friends with Schloss. I don’t know if CDC leaked the rumors of a deal on Monday before the last game of the finals, or if he pulled the trigger on the announcement less than 24 hours after the game. But if CDC did, then Schloss may not have the friend in CDC that he thought he had. If this was the plan the whole time, then they shot themselves in the foot. Hard to make a transition when the press will be hounding you on this for weeks. What’s worse for Texas is that event, intentional or not, has made their rivals out to be the good guys.
