Yes, sometimes at certain times of year, there are no signs to go on at all and yes, I have to guess, especially on 500ha+ waters when fishing at 100 or 130yds, you can’t see or hear any sign of carp.
Lots more factors to consider on the river… flow rate, nuisance species. I do a lot of short evening sessions on the river of 5-6 hours and I’d only re-do a rod if I think I’ve had an occurrence that’s potentially ruined the presentation.
It’s a confidence that comes from years of fishing and years of working alongside anglers at my lake. My method is simple: my bombproof mono d rig (czcams.com/video/Rr4paU5B_r4/video.html), a sharp hook and a running lead - it works everywhere I go 👍
@@matthewcollinsangler It would be really interesting though, to recast every 2 to 4 hrs and see the results. I know a few anglers who take this match/pleasure fishing approach and do very well.
Here I was showing my blow back. multi rig, very popular with guests who don't want to tie their own rigs, you can re-use the rig and change the hook when you need to: czcams.com/video/7VlmNHg0BD0/video.html
Obvs he will be feeling for drops and will make sure areas clean be for then you can leave them out for days. To much casting these days . See lads casting every couple hours
Yeah well when the person asked him do you know the lake by heart he responded he just wangs them out there and waits but yeah he explained to me what you just repeated@@stephenwooding8704

Love the confidence ✊
Pure confidence ❤
That’s why I method feed and recast every 15min ;)
Exactly how I fish socially, but when I fish a lake for big carp, I struggle getting used to leaving the rods alone lol
This man has it figured out.
Great stuff, I have learnt so much from you, my catch rate has increased by a lot. Thank you Mathew
Wonderful to hear, thank you 😊
I always wonder if my rigs are ok after an hour. And get the itch to reel in and recast ha
He guesses where the fish are & waits for them to come to him !!

Every day is a school day 👌
Always on the bank 👍
Even in rivers?

👍
If you're confident you've done everything right then recasting wouldn't serve any purpose. Takes incredible confidence to do it though.

@matthewcollinsangler maybe a silly question but would the 'scent/flavour' of the bollie not be very much reduced after 24 hours?
@@Accyboom I can get a take in 10 mns or after 10 hours, bottom bait straight out of the bag, I don't worry about flavour or flavour reduction.
@matthewcollinsangler you think the carp feed more off sight than scent?
Cray fish I bet
Whats the rig please Matt

@@matthewcollinsangler thanks I'll have a look
Wang them out there into a 6ft weed bed and that rig you got in you're hand ain't much good
I didn’t cover my whole approach there, I do recce the water with a leading rod before fishing a new water.

Not if them little catfish will have your boilies gone
Caught plenty of cats with the boilie still on the bait screw.
