It turns out that local Chinese farmers are combining their hard work and passion for growing the best beans with modern technology to create the perfect brew.

China went from having no coffee shops in 2017 to the creation of "Luckin Coffee" which is now beating Starbucks in China in both sales and number of stores (10,000+)! That's the kind of thing that can only happen in China!
Right! The rise of Luckin is an interesting story in itself. We had some more content about the back story but the video would have been super long. 😂

We ended up buying our house in Wuzhishan when we stopped looking for a coffee. It was in 2007 and all we found was milky tea. It was real tea, although in a glass, but ti served its purpose. Since then we have found that Hainan has its own coffee growing tradition, Xinlong and Foshan are two of the brands. Never be ashamed of the good old three in one though, we always have some in our bags for hotel stays because coffee shops are still thin on the ground.
Oh wow, I guess we will have to do a trip to Hainan as well as I didn't know this. Yunnan coffee seems to be the most well-known in China at the moment but excited to learn more about the coffee industry as a whole. Thanks for sharing your experiences!
@@NicofilmsHainanese diaspora in South East Asia are also famous for their coffee which we call "Nanyang Coffee". Back then, the Chinese diaspora could only afford cheap robusta beans which is bitter hence the Hainanese developed a roasting and brewing method that's unique and plays to the strength of the beans. Nowadays, both coffee traditions are popular in SE Asia. I've never been to Hainan but from the videos I've seen, Hainan resembles SE Asia a lot complete with their coffee shops.

I’m a coffee lover since childhood I used to refuse hot chocolate and breakfast to get a bowl of coffee 😅 my mother gave up to make sure I had some hot in my belly!
Before school (and refusing to eat animals as a French little girl I was defo the black sheep) in the 70s it didn’t go down so well but and look I’m on trend 😅 coffee lover and still vegetarian I stood my preferences I didn’t conform… worrying everyone around and countless doctors visits “ what’s wrong you? Doctor please tell her!!!😅 Lol that could definitely be a dream place for maybe coffee farmer was my destiny 🧐😜🤨 Why didn’t I think about this earlier?

I just thought it’s funny you go bonkers on 2nd coffee I checked on holiday just as a start of the day 5xdouble espresso ☕️ aka 10 espressos 😂🏁😬No sugar no milk. Of course at home we have a great bean grinder coffee machine and would be so to come back home with some Chinese ones and make it in our own kitchen! Anyway take care xoxo

As a native of China, I only want to find aged Pu 'er when I go to Yunnan. For most people in China, tea seems to be a drink that melts into the blood!
