1. having kids is a personal decision. even here in canada, i know quite a few chinese who either choose not to have kids or to remain single (50+age). aging is a problem here also, but at least canada is an immigrant country. 2. as for anti-china haters, put away your prejudice and go to see china with an open mind and then judge for yourself. i used to be anti-china hater myself, i even participated in hk's 1989 june 4 protest. then i started going to visit china and to see it for myself. the china of 1989 is vastly different from the china of 2019 (the last time i visited), it is like day and night. yes, there are the bad side of china, but then so is for all countries. the way i see it, i don't judge the country by how the bottom 3-5% live, but judge by how the middle 50% (like a bell curve) live. at least in china, the govt has its poverty alleviation program, here we still have homeless people living in the tents, it is even worse in usa, from the videos i have watched. sorry for such a long post. love from canada.
Guangzhou = paradise. Parks and open spaces, public transport, Pearl River, friendly people, clean and well cared for city + preservation of it's old history - the WEST has so much to learn from China.

Totally agree, no country is perfect but you need to see it for your own eyes before you judge somewhere. We also all have different experiences and so you can't only base it on that either.
I’m from Yunnan, your videos always remind me of my childhood when my father was working in Beijing and I flied there to meet him twice per year. The old and historical city, the prosperous and developed capital, and my time with my father, everything makes me love Beijing so much. After finding your channel , Beijing from your lens makes me love it more. Well done and big thank to you! The war in Ukraine stealing the show, as a nba fan even me has been distracted from hoop…but i never stop supporting you guys, awesome vlog as it used to be.
I lived in Shenzhen 2016 - 2020. I quit before got another job in China (I tried only Shanghai) and eventually I got a job back home country- meaning I have no intention to go back! Now I can’t go back due to restrictions but I am hopeful in 2023. I missed China so so much because there are so much happenings and so many places to visit and so diverse (I really enjoyed my trips to Yunan socialising with minorities such as Bai, Naxi and Tibetan). Btw, through your videos I begin to like Beijing maybe slightly more than Shanghai because it has such rich history.
I hope you get your chance to come back soon and experience more of the country! We love Yunnan too I hope we get a chance to explore more of the area this year!

Honestly China is a very polarized country. You either love or hate her. Very few are just okay. I guess it's because of her huge population/totally different language and culture/food and living styles. I don't blame some decided to leave China after shorted staying but just don't spreading the hate. That's a very low character after all there's no such thing as perfect country.
Most reliable way to get info: see it with your own eyes, and hear it with your own ears and experience it with your other senses, *first hand*. But even then, it could just be a dream. Should reciprocate that same question to those who asked it. The first key question to ask the skeptics.

I think you guys could also upload your videos to a lot of Chinese social meida like Chinese domestic and international versions of Tiktok, Baidu, Weibo, Tencent and Bilibili. I found a lot of video creators sent their videos to all of these social media and gain a lot of followers.

Considering you love Beijing more than Shanghai, Guangzhou should have ranked higher than Shenzhen since it is an older city with more culture and character.
We've not been though so it had to come last.

Hi there.... I lived in China in 2017... I love your videos. What I would like to know please is if China is still taking English teachers? And when will the borders open? Is there a still a future in China?
Honestly I have no idea when the borders will open. The education system is very different now so the only places would be public or international schools as training centres don't exist anymore. China is still looking for teachers but I don't know if the rules will change again.
Jack's answer about leaving family made me LOL way too loudly in front of my Mac, alone in my living room. I think my wife heard and is probably concerned with my state of mind.
p.s. forget my (previous) comment about applying for international schools in Shanghai.

I've been in China for 5yrs now. I stay away from talking about the ccp and politics with my company and school. I talk about it with friends and family off of wechat and any Chinese social media. I've been waiting for the Japan border to open up.
