I’m in a college biology class and we actually just learned about immortal jellyfish. Basically they can control their development timeline and go from their adult stage back to their “infant” stage. Hence being able to live on and on…. Very impressive that this kids knows what immortal jellyfish are

What's your major?
@@aeternus2 I had something similar; getting an encyclopaedia magazine regularly that would blow my mind with facts about the world and history. It made going through high school a breeze because I already knew most of the stuff. And it definitely sparked something in me that still continues to this day. But there is a downside to being able to "do anything" - I wanted to be an architect, brain surgeon, physicist, astronaut... I couldn't pick. I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up 😅 I'm a teacher, as well as a hospitality & tourism manager, but currently I'm homeschooling my kids, starting a small business, with a little hospitality management on the side. It got to a point where my kids were getting bored and starting to play up at school, but bringing them home and schooling them myself has been awesome! They've run their own small businesses, they're 2 years ahead in every subject except maths, and they've only just become teenagers. It's rewarding being able to give them what I probably needed. Congratulations on studying philosophy! That would be brilliant to delve into the minds of the great people and civilisations of the past. How are you finding your studies? Is it enough?

Wonder what he thinks of Santa Claus 🤔
man’s already thinking about the economy
@@SarahPerinesanta claus more reasonable. With frozen yogurt scenario, you’d have to be observing everyone constantly for instances of kindness. How do you do that, how do you output froyo when the event is triggered, do they pick it up at their local shop? How would you ensure that they are the correct person to receive the froyo? You’d need some kind of froyo kindess ID situation, whose information is updated when kindness occurs or when froyo is received. But that brings back, who determines when kindness occurs? The observer would need to be some high level ethical AI with omniscient presence, so you’d need everyone outfitted with the system into their very being. We’d need either something constantly carried with everyone, or a cyborg reality with kindness froyo chips. Else, you’d have to have a self reporting system, which is likely to fail because people will say anything for some froyo.

The way he said “No, it’s not. It’s a real thing.” 😂
it is a real thing, they are theoretically immortal but they aren’t immune to disease and other causes of death besides aging so they aren’t actually immortal
@@thebeeskneeesbut theoretically, given a sufficient and endless supply of food in a predator free environment, they can live forever. there's still no proof that their DNA can age and fail to repair itself like with other creatures, so it's so fascinating that living "forever" is technically possible for them.
Yeah, because he's actually right and he knows people don't take him seriously because he's a kid but he knows what he's talking about
The kid probably happens to be eating very healthily (probaby so do his parents), which makes him have very healthy physiology which turns out to be ridiculously important for everything relating to neuron activity. Plus his parents probably take him seriously as a person, you can tell how he's annoyed when people don't take him seriously, rather than seeing that as par for the course giving that he's still a kid
he’s so sweet 😭😭😭 all feelings are important
There's this saying that a genius has a child's curiosity. NEVER let this child's curiosity go away
The fact that he understands immortal jellyfish and how they live forever also shows he can grasp the concept of death and realises humans don't live forever. He seems to have made terms with it too. Maybe I'm thinking too deeply here but what a genius kid!
welll he doesn’t exactly understand cause he just asked how it works
He is thinking the way scientists think. When a guesting emerges they work on the answer.
You were right until you said "he seems to have made terms with it too". What an absurd statement.
You can tell the adults in this little guys life and attentive and allow him to express himself ❤ he’s so wise
And treat him as an equal. Not be condescending because he's a child.
Really I think it's also that he (and his parents) eat very healthily, which turns out is really really important for having your neurons work properly, like for them to work really, really well, way better than most people could ever imagine neurons to work
“ALL feelings are IMPORTANT!” Kid had a MIC DROP MOMENT!🎤⬇️😊
This kid is going places, he's starting to see beyond the limits of the average adult human, and it's going to be a fantastic journey.

the immortal jellyfish regenerates all its cells super often so it naturally can't die, it can be killed but it won't die of old age or anything like that
Kudos to the parents on this kid. ❤
And noah ritter
Life would be so much easier if we all had parents like this kid’s parents. Going through life accepting all feelings as part of life, instead of suppressing anger and sadness like most children are taught to do starting from age 2-3
Nobody accepts sadness in others at all stages of life. When I was forced into therapy, the stupid counselor was always asking how something made me feel. Decades later my answer is the same. People are too much into feelings. It doesn't seem like a good place to dwell IMHO, and I'm totally not concerned. Mama always said I was strange. Humans are never satisfied, and I find that extremely irritating.
Yes, without the brainwashing of "religions."
@@shirleyashanti3031 I agree, I hate the counselors that are always asking how things made me feel. Sometimes I have no feeling at all, other times I’m only bothered by others not understanding me, not actual hurt by them. I just wish people didn’t have to suppress their feelings, or lack there of them
Yeah, good point. Even swearing for example, most parents idiotically tell their kide "Don't swear", but really the thing should be "Only swear when you're really angry and feel like you need to show that through swearing, because otherwise people won't take it seriously when you use them"
Parents whose only contribution in situations like that is to clutch their pearls at bad words being said are just silly, and they probably use those words themselves when they're really angry
I've never felt more validated than when he said, "Because all feelings are important."
This kid is going places

kid's asking the important questions...turritopsis dohrnii is immortal does indeed exist (and looks real freaking cool - almost like a heart within a clear capsule...plus they are super tiny). Most of the species do die eventually from disease or predators, but the medusa can revert its cells to the polyp stage when stressed and begin its life again. Imagine being stressed out with life and just being like "nah, adulting ain't for me right now" and then just becoming a baby again. Not only can turritopsis dohrnii do this, but it also clones itself into multiple polyps which can then become full-grown medusae that are biologically identical to the original. It's able to do this using cell transdifferentiation, which is a process that allows a mature specialized cell to turn into a different type of mature specialized cell. They also have an expanded set of genes that protect DNA. So these lil guys are not only incredible just for existing, but are also super important to medical research - we might be able to replicate some of these properties in human stem cells to help with diseases and the effects of ageing!
Thanks for this comment!
