From Season 3 Episode 20, 'Where's The Pearls?' Elizabeth Taylor asks Fran to look after her special black pearls. Unfortunately, Fran has an accident and loses her memory and can't remember where she put the pearls! In her confused state, Fran believes that she is Elizabeth Taylor and is married to Maxwell!

Also fun fact for people that are interested: Fran in german doesn't sound like the original Fran at all. Her voice is not nasal. (the voice actress also dubbed Leia in Star wars)

Dont understand why people didnt like them being married. Like its a trend that people stop watching series when the main characters get married and thats it..i feel the series had more to say. All those seasons i was frustrated that he wouldnt say: i love you, to Fran sooner..i was struggling through the series cause i wanted then together so bad...then after they were..everything went too fast..i Wish he had many more seasons of them has a married couple. Id love that😭😭😭
I just watched season 6 (and the series for the first time) and i think it was okay. Any problems that were there, i think them being married was the least of their worries
At the time it was common for the sitcom to have a will they or wont they couple and that's part of the charm of any series. Basically when said couple are married, that part of the hook is lost and writer really need to get creative to keep audience engaged. This is why rather than focusing on their life as married couple which more or less the same since they have been basically lived together anyway, there's very little they could add to the show.
This was also why Niles and CC need to get together or otherwise there's very little reason for audience to keep invested. This is also why most sitcom will have their final episode revolving the main character getting married or finally getting back together for good.
It is called the honeymoon effect, I think. Everything is nice and cool before they get together, once they are the dinamic is simple and we don't see the struggle of the couple to get together so people don't find it interesting anymore.
People had a problem with that? I liked the relationship going somewhere.

Now hold on just a minute, if you watch this show carefully, you notice that Fran never really asked for anything from Mr Sheffield. The only thing she'd take for granted is meeting celebrity guests, for which she had harmless intentions despite the shenanigans it caused. Beyond that, Fran genuinely loved the Sheffield's children and took care of them as if they were her own. Well she wasn't always professional, she did have a loyalty to her job and the Sheffield family. And while there were perks to Mr. Sheffield's wealth, Fran was only attracted to him for him, not for his money.

I think back in the 90's when you made purchases over the phone with a credit card you had to know your mother's maiden name, for security purposes.
