    If you’re unfamiliar with cribbage, it’s a great game that uses the board and pegs to keep score. It’s a fantastic two player game, but can also scale up to more players. Might be that perfect pandemic game for you and your circle. A handmade board only heightens the experience. We love to travel with ours to coffee shops, bars, or getaways.

    In the video I used Osmo Polyx. This is a great finish that has some unique steps for application. For more on the application process, check out this video around 13:30. • Modern Table with Dowe... If you choose to use this finish for cribbage boards, just be sure to not let any pool in the holes, or the wax will harden. The spray lacquer I mentioned, is the easiest finish for cribbage boards. There are loads of other options for peg storage. For another idea that might give you inspiration, check out my Cribbage story highlights on Instagram: saGlnaGxpZ...

    Another awesome video. You do such a great job of explaining what you are doing and mention all the options. I actually like the idea of them coming apart rather than swiveling so you only have the board while playing.

    The Rockler jig he mentioned does come with the self-centering drill bit. It also stops at the proper depth as well. It's what I use and the results are fantastic

      I have a Rockler Drill Press Jig, or "Portable Drill Guide". I absolutely love it, and it's probably more practical in most situations for a DIYer than going up river on some sketchy craigslist ad and buying a 500lb drill press covered in dust in some old guys machine shop. Which oddly has like 50 chain saws hanging, with an eerie windchime going off in the distance as the fog starts to roll in with the fast approaching nightfall....

    Why do you only have 10k subs? You should be closer to 300k+ and likely will soon. The videos are great and very well narrated and put together. Was thinking a CNC could be a good way to go with the holes. But drill press just as cool!

    • @SixEightWoodworks
      @SixEightWoodworks  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks! That’s a bummer on the tear out. If it makes you feel better, I definitely get some. Best solution is to make sure the template securely attached, where it can’t keep lifting with sawdust getting underneath it. Higher speed on the drill press, if you’re not already at top speed??? Best of luck!

    Just use a magnet in the middle for the swivel
    That way you can slide the whole thing off if you want or just swivel it

    Do you need to use the drill after finishing to clean out the holes

    • @SixEightWoodworks
      @SixEightWoodworks  Před rokem

      If you’re using a hard wax, you’d need to clean out the holes with a skewer or something small. After doing these, I’ve gone back to other oils or the spray lacquer to eliminate that step.

    what are the dimensions that you use for the pocket of cards to accommodate the entire box?

    • @SixEightWoodworks
      @SixEightWoodworks  Před 3 lety +1

      Awesome! For the card storage, I just trace the card box and add about a 1/16 “ around. If your pencil comes out a bit from the box while tracing, you don’t even need to measure. I’m ok with a little wiggle room.
