Everybody played their part EXTERMLY well. Easily my favorite Cusack film.
There seriously wasnt a single bad performance from any of the actors. One of the few movies every actor is on their A game.
This and 1408, he was amazing!
The actor was pretty good, his distress, the panic, the rapid eye movements, not too over-done, just subtle.
His eye movements are from a medical condition, not something intentional.
@@miranda13c indeed, I've seen him in about 5 things, he always does it
he tries to incorporate his condition into his roles.
@@miranda13c i dont know if this is true but even if it is this is a real psychological phenomenon. When trying to remember and reprocess especially traumatic or supressed memories the eyes will shift back and forth slightly for most people. This is often exhageratted during mental distress.
If you dont believe me look up emdr therapy. Theyve actually used this cognitive phenomona to help people heal from trauma.
@@miranda13c people who dissociate will have a very subtle shift in behavior and mannerisms and usually there is some kind of eye movement..wether its blinking or zoning out for a moment sometimes its a split second of eyes rolling back..its usually very subtle and quick and unnoticeable to other people.
The reason that I love this movie so much is that we still get what we were promised. A whodunnit with a very unique twist.
This films a gem and history will show it's a classic in acting and storytelling.
Hugely underrated movie.
Damn right!
Exactly
Can you please rephrase you comment without the sheeple "underrated" term?"
@@HighSpeedNoDrag Maybe if you learn to use quotation marks 😉
@@dominiccroucher3389 Your sheeple comment is just as meaningless as above. Try again but use your brain.
The way how Cusack character is terrified after seeing Malcolm face in mirror is gold.
I love that movie.
An amazing psychological thriller. One of my top 5 in the list.

@Ahmed Waheed the Devil's Advocate, Shutter Island, Mulholland Drive, the Game and Misery.
u should add ur list with this movie "Secret Window" starring by Johhny Depp its really a good movie bruh
@Ahmed Waheed Im late. "Primal Fear"
Edward: "WHY AM I TIED UP?!"
That line delivery was too good.
My favorite is the "What?" when he's told he's just a personality.
@@coderdbd The raised sound of thunder just before that "What?" made it all the more effective.
The background actors also did a fantastic job. The DA is absolutely bewildered by what’s happening and the judge is disturbed by what he’s seeing.
One of the background characters was the dad on donnie darko and another was the reverse flash on the flash TV show.
You have to give credit to incredible character actor Pruitt Taylor Vince (Malcolm) for his performance here. The way his eyes dart left and right, showing how terrified he is as he's trying to figure out what's going on.
He has nystagmus symptom of MS
He actually has an eye condition, nystagmus, as the guy above me has stated. That isn't acting lol
His nystagmus is quite slow. Mine would be twice as fast.
Great in 'The devils candy' aswell ..
John as well
A meeting between kingpin and doc ock goes horribly wrong
I’m a retired firefighter paramedic, and in 28 years of service, nothing was as stressful as dealing with mentally ill people, especially when they were enraged about something. That’s what his reaction to his reflection makes me think of. Great movie.
And then came the twist. Great film.
A twist on par with The Usual Suspects and Empire Strikes Back.
@shadowtechn9ne he was killing off his own personalities
And that's not even the final twist. The audience still gets two more.
The way his eyes are moving, its painful to do, I cant even do it, this guy was balling out in this movie with those reactions. Fantastic.
Symptom of MS, nystagmus, it's not an act
@@pambrundrett7415 I think you are right I searshed for nystagmus on youtube and and yes I think now yes it is a symptom of systagmus
@@NightOwlWise If you just look at his wikipedia page you would see for a fact he has nystagmus
@@BananaPhoPhillyThe second twist with Timmy being the murder I saw coming
Imagine waking up tied up in a chair and your entire life was a made up personality inside of psycho head 😂😂😂
That's scary
When you look at from their perspective though and everyone saying your crazy. Damn seeing how it feels head on really opens your eyes
My favorite one-word delivery by any actor. John Cusack: "What?..."
Such a great scene from a movie that slipped between the cracks.
This film is seriously awesome and i looooove the way he slips in and out of reality.
THAT is a plot twist.
I really like how it only took one word for the doctor to know who it was he was talking to. Showing just how well he knew each of Malcolms personalities
This scene is a masterpiece.
2:12 best "what" ever
Very true!
I love that delivery. His facial expression.
That’s gotta be terrifying to find out you’re crazy and your life is a lie
great Film, the twist was really clever
Fantastic acting, John and Pruitt killed it. 👏👏👏👏👏
So this is Pa Kent
Wrong choice. Looks like Kingpin to me 😂
@@deanasia2768 He could be good in the role. He looks a lot like how i would imagine aregular kansas farmer would look like.
This scene gave me chills when I first saw it
You are not the only one who continues to feel this way.
There’s no way you can’t feel chilled
After i get haircut that i dont like at 2:29

"No, Edward. It's Doc OCK! How many times do we have to go through this??"
Movie clips are usually what you watch during Quarantine
John cusack was perfect for this movie
Is that Dr. Octavious
I love listening to Alfred Molina talk.
He needs to do voice work . He has such an easy going voice.
This movie is soo underrated it is a mindfuck like fightclub
This ending was so shocking when I first saw it.
A grossly under appreciated movie. From beginning to end you are sucked into this movie. A nail biter for sure.
2022
One of the best movie of all time.
Out of all the DID twists ever done in movies, this is one of the most effective. 😱
Great acting on Pruitt Taylor Vince for moving his eyes like that.
I always noticed and appreciated the detail. Great acting every note and tone on point.
It's not acting, he has a medical condition that causes his eyes to move uncontrollably. You can notice it in all of his movies/shows, some of them try to hide it, some of them accentuate it to great effect.
@@Kreznjrk Oh man, now I feel like a douche. Didn't know that. I've never noticed it in his other performances and I guess it just stood out because it really fits the role here.
@@Kreznjrk damn, he's a great actor in The Mentalist, never knew that. It fits his role very well in that too so I've always thought he does it on purpose
His condition is called nystagmus. He or the director always tries to work it into his scenes cuz it's so creepy. A great way to overcome his condition. I've always thought he is such an underrated actor and he's had SO MANY great roles!
this movie is a legend itself. it is one of the movie that i will recommend to someone to watch. love the plot twist
I forgot how much I really liked this movie. The acting in this scene and the transition between the characters was so well done!
This movie was absolutely fascinating.
Liked it so much. The ending is striking.
Excellent movie!
😱All I know is that this movie scared me 2 death!! Especially when the guy's eyes were rolling around in his head! 👀What's worse is that we got stuck in the theater AFTERWARDS due 2 sudden heavy downpours of rain & flooding just like John Cusack's character did! Seeing this once was enough.😯
I absolutely LOVE this film. Multiple Personality Disorder. Another one of John Cusack's best!! 😁💗❤💗❤💗
Fantastic movie❤❤❤
Is it normal to get anxious and even feel sick while looking at that actors eyes?
No it's not normal but abnormal.
It just depends really.
nystagmus, the involuntary movement of the eye.
This movie is amazingly good! I am going to watch this weekend
The best stories are the ones who humanize the "villain". Despite the crimes you have to feel at least some sympathy for him. The true villain here was mental illness.
1:34 Right when he spoke about child trauma, that is when I knew Timmy had to be the murderer. Especially with seeing this name over and over at 3:28.
Anyone ever thought that this film could actually be reality? Let me explain. We could all be alters or personalities inside an infinite, universal mind which would mean that there is only one being or one consciousness and we are it but we are pretending that we are not 🤔
In 2003, upon a movie theater where I once worked at, I met a woman who wasn't there. She wasn't there again today. I miss her. I wish, I wish she'd come back again.
I was so high when I first saw this movie. It tripped me put so bad lol. Love this movie. Underrated!
A sad story of a man falsely accused of a crime and the victim of a cruel conspiracy resulting in them stealing his face and replacing it with someone else’s, a truly chilling tale based on a true story.
Best plot twist
I don't understand how can he get Ed's personality If he died, Only Paris and the kid has survived so he could only have these two personalities...
Ed personality is dead yet when theyr talkin... Ed personality death after eliminate the other personality.. N they thought paris is the only one left thats y malcolm singin as paris
Best acting and plot twist ever
My favorite scene from one of my favorite movies
Love this movie. Very underrated like others have said. Tried explaining what this would be like to someone and maybe I didn't explain it enough but they didn't understand being some entity and looking into the mirror and seeing another person's face. R.I.P Ray Liotta
One of the best movies I've ever seen!
👍👍
Many compare this movie to "Shutter Island." I don't see it lol.
@@David-dc3nk I don't see it either, although it's also a good movie.
@@G_Moreno89 It is a great movie even though it's unfortunate that James Mangold's recent movie, the new Indiana Jones movie, bombed earlier this year.
As I was coming up the stairs I met a man who wasn't there
0:01 Me when the lights turn on
Anyone ever seen John Woo's film Face/Off? It stars John Travolta, and Nicholas Cage. That is a movie that deals with something to freak out over someone's face.
Pruitt Taylor Vince is such an amazing actor. he kills in every roll he's in.
Now I do this for a living. 🤣 This was one of the many psychological movies I reviewed.
it is one of the most mystrical movie ever... And this scene Oh my God! just amazing
There's one weird plot hole though. Right before Rhodes dies in Ed's arms, we can't hear this for some reason but we can see him mouth the words something along the lines of "I didn't kill the others", and Ed responds by mouthing "I know". Seriously rewatch that part of the movie and look at their lips, it's clear as day that's what they're saying to each other.
So then if Ed knew that Rhodes wasn't the actual killer, then why did he shoot him for? And how did Ed know that Rhodes wasn't the killer in the first?
After having seen Pruitt Taylor Vince in many films over the years, I noticed that John Cusack is imitating some of Pruitts mannerisms and delivery. He does it well and just subtle enough that I don’t think anyone would ever catch it without seeing the film multiple times.
1 of me fav movies of all time!!!
Masterpiece!
„Great movie💎”
(I hope you are doing well!)
He did such a good job impersonating another actor. Such an underrated movie.
be between tension and immersion
Dr octo!
An underrated film which I think shares a lot in common with Shutter Island.
This movie and the acting is far superior to Shutter Island. This movie is better in every way. Shutter Island was super predictable.
awesome movie
Me, a person with DID (formerly MPD), watching this: "Its not called Multiple Personality Syndrome anymore, but yknow go off I guess, at least you explained the disorder CORRECTLY-"
I have a huge question and forgive me if im just ignorant, but the actor Pruitt Taylor Vince, his eyes move back and forth in almost all of his films. Is this a condition? Or something he controls just for movies?
nystagmus, the involuntary movement of the eye.
When you don't know what to say Even when you are first

One of my fav movies
I still don’t understand this movie
Each person in the Motel is a personality. They’re trying to eliminate all but 1 personality and hopefully get rid of the murderour personality.
And they thought Ray Liotta (personality) was the killer but it was the kid
Great movie. I watched it 15 years ago and recently thought of it because of some stalker with multiple personality. Lol
Ho amato questo film❤
Rather than Malcolm go psychotic at the end, I would have written it so that Ed Dakota takes over, looks at his handcuffs and sees a paper clip sticking out of a document folder. A slight smile forms on his lips, and we fade to black.
but his personality died
@@homermontana2392 Think of 'Split'; alters never really die, they are subsumed by the dominant personality. Ed Dakota could have become that dominant one.
@@zincChameleon maybe alters are different in this movie the ones who die they die which is why we don't see timmy's death on screen his alter is the dominant one although we didn't see ginny's death too even though we see that she wasn't the killer because of her husband's death
Who am i? Answer:I am ironman
