- We are stepping out of Disney and stepping into the wilderness. This past Thanksgiving, we went camping at one of our state parks called Silver Lake Campground. Silver Lake Campground is located within the Croom Tract of Withlacoochee State Forest which is just minutes from I-75.

I have never seen a real armadillo before. I would have probably ran away, it looks so unusual. Sorry you had all that rain, but it's great to see you had a great time regardless of the weather. Hope you all had an awesome Christmas : )

Most people think of Texas when they see an armadillo. Well, I've lived in Texas all my life, and I've seen more armadillos outside my state than inside it. lol
We camp in Silver Springs State Park. Full hook up Wilderness and free silver Springs entrance. Close to Walmart and shopping.
It is close to Croome FL. Brooksville... pretty area

Hi there! I am thoroughly enjoying your videos. In your Disney Fort Wilderness one, I felt deja vu because we had the same exact tent and the same exact Campsite. I am wondering though, where did you get the screened in canopy? That is a great thing to have in mosquito infested Florida. :)
+Melanie hi there!! The canopy we got from my sister. But you can find those at Walmart :) it’s really great keeping the bugs out.... well most of them lol

What do you find is a good brand name for tents? Your tent really passed the test when it came to keeping your family dry in the rain. So many tents make that claim and then you find out the tent leaks. Thank you.
JoAnn Scicchitano our tent is on Ozark Trail and it definitely past the rain test. There was a lot of rain! We had some minor puddles around the bottom seams but not bad at all. Except now we have a hole from a raccoon trying to eat through it 😞😂

It's Florida. Like asking if there are gators in a Louisiana swamp. You better believe it!
Yes silver lake is a black water lake. Its full of gators. I grew up in that area.
How far you are guys from Disney world do you have a drive long ? For me I live in Louisville Kentucky and it takes like 15 or 16 hours to get there

It was cold, right? I was thinking alligators stay under water in this cold. Not really sure, though.
They like to come out and sun bathe but on the chilly, overcast days, they were probably hiding. Frank has been out in the lake many times and have seen them on a few occasions. Any body of water here are sure to have gators haha
