This is 100% true. My now husband went through with our wedding unwanting one. He wanted to just go to courthouse but a conversation he had with me was that he did not see his parents happy and it was always an unhealthy relationship growing up. He did not see the point or value marriage at all the way I did. So you’re absolutely right. Some men don’t have that to look up to growing up so marriage seems pointless to them. ☹️

I was with someone for 12 years. We built a life together, moved out of state together, had a baby together. Our lives were completely integrated and when the topic of proposal and marriage came up, it was always very sensitive. He wanted to get married without a proposal and I wanted a proposal. Not because of the material value of a ring but because I was raised by a single mom who never had that experience and I wanted that for myself. I wanted to experience the joy of taking our relationship to the next level together. It never happened and I choose to leave the relationship (for that reason and others). After the break up he told me he didn’t propose because of he didn’t feel he was financially ready (exactly what Sebas was explaining). All those years I spent feeling not good enough or not worthy and really it was about him. Communication is important and I’m glad y’all opened up this conversation so men know it’s ok to be vulnerable. Looking back I may not have created that safe space for him because I didn’t know how… but that’s what life’s about, living and learning.
I feel us as women definitely are more open to being honest and when our men don’t open up that conversation for us, we get upset. I’m sure to you it wasn’t about the size or price of the ring. Ok SO... When I got married, we were only 20 & 22 with a 1 year old. My original ring was $200 and from the pawn shop he worked at! Now, 15 years later - after we came up (job and education wise) TOGETHER we got to spend whatever amount we wanted on rings. It could have gone either way - we could've waited 15 years to get our dream rings and wedding or 2 years and get a baby ring and courthouse wedding (like we did) and been completely content. What matters the most is the life built together and the family you create. All in your OWN time. Love the show and you guys!

My husband and I paid $87 for both our rings. 38 yrs later I have a beautiful ring that I received on our 25th anniversary when we renewed our Vows, not to mention I have a absolutely wonderful husband. ❤

There’s a high percentage of individuals not going to college now and that’s kinda a scary situation if you think about it. Not enough doctors, lawyers and other professionals.
College was 1 of the best times of my life! So much fun, meeting so many people (including lifetime friends), learning so much about yourself and being forced to hustle academically and financially. It was such a time!
One thing I’m going to teach my daughter is.. if she wants a ring from any man there’s a bigger picture to think about. Once you’re engaged you plan a wedding , that cost money…. Married people want their own place.. that cost money.. it’s not all of the man’s responsibility so look at the finances with your person and prepare for the married life. It’s sounds beautiful to have a huge ring a nice house and kids and a man to provide. But just know that the man is gunna have to bust their ass and not be around much to do that. One thing I also learned about being married is, you really got to get to your your partner before committing the rest of your life with this person. It’s a beautiful thing once you both are one.

I'm totally understanding what sebas is saying about the financial part of the rings. This sounds crazy but my fiance and I were together for 11 years when he proposed. People would always ask why he hadn't and it was always super awkward but he would kind of say wanting to afford a ring. I love the ring he got me I know myself that it's not expensive for us it was but it meant a lot because he saved what he could for it in order to be able to do it. 4 years later we still haven't gotten married just because it's a lot of money. I know the easy way is the court house but after all these years I think we deserve to celebrate out love and i can't wait for the day it happens.
This early upload made my day . I told my finance I would never have a kid with him 😂 that didn’t stop him. He got me pregnant a year later and it’s the best thing that happen to us both 😂 he gave me a very public , shocking , viral proposal with a little ring 😂 but his heart was in it and that’s all that matter ! For me, sebas is absolutely right! I love so much that my fiancé proposed to me with a ring he chose. I love what he picked out for me to wear. Of course he knows what I like etc. But, ultimately that’s all that mattered to me. Can I just say…. By far my favorite episode. Straight up facts and for any girl who is against their opinion on it being okay for a man to admit that they aren’t financially stable to buy us a ring, step down a notch. Meaning, humble yourself a little. If you are with a man who you truly love, it is expected that you, as their partner, help him be successful in order to become financially stable. Show him that you are a ride or die and the BOTH of you should prepare for finances in the relationship to be able to exceed the woman’s expectations. I decided to go back to school majority of it being online and finish my AA at 24 which I loved. People of all ages in a community college to talk to, but now I chose to go to school full time at a University for the last 2 years. Idk if it's just a weird time after covid but I feel so out of place since I'm nearly a decade older than all these babies now at 27. It's hard to relate or talk to kids that aren't as social and many with no real world experience or have their own money 😭 I feel like I can relate and talk to the teachers more. So yeah to any of you out there 18-22 please go to school if you dream to during this time in your life.

I use to wear a princess cut ring that my dad bought my mom and I use to say I wanted a princess cut also. My husband said he was stuck between a princess cut vs a round cut he liked and I’m soooo glad he went with what HE liked. My ring is literally one of a kind, it looks like a rose🌹
I believe that the ring price doesn’t matter. I work in the food industry I never have time to wear my ring. My wedding ring set was $3,000. 2 years ago that was what we were able to afford. We didn’t have a big wedding for the same reason that we couldn’t afford it. It was just a civil wedding, him and I, alone. We decided that in the future when we have a church wedding we will gift each other a ring with more value and a overall wedding of our dreams.

For me, sebas is absolutely right! I love so much that my fiancé proposed to me with a ring he chose. I love what he picked out for me to wear. Of course he knows what I like etc. But, ultimately that’s all that mattered to me. Something he went out and took time to choose for me ❤ and I get hella compliments about it.. sometimes I get asked if I picked my own ring. I say, “absolutely not! That was all my man” 😊

Can I just say….
By far my favorite episode. Straight up facts and for any girl who is against their opinion on it being okay for a man to admit that they aren’t financially stable to buy us a ring, step down a notch. Meaning, humble yourself a little. If you are with a man who you truly love, it is expected that you, as their partner, help him be successful in order to become financially stable. Show him that you are a ride or die and the BOTH of you should prepare for finances in the relationship to be able to exceed the woman’s expectations. Men have expectations too and expect a woman to work just as hard to fulfill each other’s needs.
After watching this episode, it really made me want to just go to my man and say “I got you. I got us for life. Ring or no ring. Marriage or not. Rich or poor”
Start practicing those vows of marriage before even getting married and show him that YOU are worth all of the hard work. This will make them want to grind so much harder to make us happy.

I decided to go back to school majority of it being online and finish my AA at 24 which I loved. People of all ages in a community college to talk to, but now I chose to go to school full time at a University for the last 2 years. Idk if it's just a weird time after covid but I feel so out of place since I'm nearly a decade older than all these babies now at 27. It's hard to relate or talk to kids that aren't as social and many with no real world experience or have their own money 😭 I feel like I can relate and talk to the teachers more. So yeah to any of you out there 18-22 please go to school if you dream to during this time in your life.

I use to wear a princess cut ring that my dad bought my mom and I use to say I wanted a princess cut also. My husband said he was stuck between a princess cut vs a round cut he liked and I’m soooo glad he went with what HE liked. My ring is literally one of a kind, it looks like a rose🌹
I believe that the ring price doesn’t matter. I work in the food industry I never have time to wear my ring. My wedding ring set was $3,000. 2 years ago that was what we were able to afford. We didn’t have a big wedding for the same reason that we couldn’t afford it. It was just a civil wedding, him and I, alone.
We decided that in the future when we have a church wedding we will gift each other a ring with more value and a overall wedding of our dreams.

This episode was so raw! The whole thing about men not fessing up about their financial issues should be something to be normalized! My fiancé feels defeated that I'm helping out financially wise!
