You can change the defrost termination on the ke2. I think 50f is a good number. Whatever it's set for from the factory isn't good if you've got a lot of moisture or poorly placed sensors.
Chris, you can prolly get in trouble for cleaning the pigeon dew without a license. All kidding aside, I know of a hvac guy that got a fatal disease from inhaling pigeon dew dust from getting a fan going that was out for a while.
Until the authorities figures out where he did it then it won't be any trouble since it's probably a local ordinance that states what's permitted. And the effort to figure out where would exceed the profit of the possible fine. Just be aware of PETA - they don't care about jurisdictions. Given the amount of crap seen on HVACs I'd expect that those working with that are immune to most stuff flying around. 🤪
Crazy birds, they put up with all the noise and stuff, but they do seem to enjoy the heat coming out of the compressors. And I thought cats are crazy enough to feel at home in an industrial boiler room for example.

@14:52 it was at this point that the peace between humans and pigeons ended. Now, EVERY MORNING the service van was covered in pigeon poop, even when parked in the clear, there was pigeon poop EVERYWHERE.
Do you ever bother to get a fin comb out to try and straighten the bent over evap fins caused by the ice formation, or is it a case of time vs effort vs outcome = no significant difference?
I have an interesting question, if you plan on putting a sprayer on a condenser like that would it be beneficial to put a whole house water filter housing and filter at the spicket to help reduce the calcium they are rather inexpensive at $20 and they don’t destroy water flow. I put one on my pressure washer and it works beautifully
Can one say biohazard.. when you touched that compressor the first time without a glove I cringed. I think your gonna need a case of viper cleaner for that rack. Stay safe and be well.

I found, that you have to move the defrost termination sensor from the side where the loops are and stick in the coil usually center of the coil. KE2 Therms are notorious for this inadequate defrost issue
Flying T-Rex would be more accurate. As a child I spent many hours on a ladder with a heat-gun in walk-ins, mostly in bars, thawing evaps. What's the one thing pigeons are kwon for? Always retuning home. Leaving the doors open, not sure if they are capable of deduction and reasoning that you give them credit for. I would wager they had some dish detergent to clean up with.
You must be right about the ke2s with the weird defrost issue, it will start in the side panel and just spread like cancer. Tried to put it in defrost and it wouldn't go half the time. Put new sensors on Evaps and then it started kicking on and off which makes sense I didn't defrost it manually that time I guess. Just kinda weird

You ever eat pigeon eggs, they are not big but if you get enough of them you can make a pretty tasty omelette!
Had a home Moraga. Rat problem..took months to seal it all up...they even lift up roof Vents....
Yeah those pigeons just started showing here in juneau Alaska about six years ago Cruise ships bring them up but they usually die in winter or get beaten up by raven
I use a couple of the mini split cleaning kits, with the the bibs, catches all the water and goes, right to the drain or bucket
Somebody works in that cooler, and that somebody needs 'education'. Start with the carrot and if that doesn't work, finish with the stick!
Working in that environment is difficult.Great job
Bleach neutralises pigeon crap if you can use it with the equipment.
Probably not in California.
You can change the defrost termination on the ke2. I think 50f is a good number. Whatever it's set for from the factory isn't good if you've got a lot of moisture or poorly placed sensors.
lost it when he said STUPID BIRDS LMFAO
Dude don't you know we're on an eviction moratorium you can't evict right now🤣🤣🤣🤣
Chris, you can prolly get in trouble for cleaning the pigeon dew without a license.
"The flying rats had squatters rights" lol
They are a pain in the arse in the uk, they don't give hoot !
Great work
Thanks, I am going live on CZcams this evening 8/9/21 @ 5:PM (pacifc) to discuss my recent uploads and answer questions from the livechat, CZcams comments and emails, Come over and check it out czcams.com/video/exNsJRteDOU/video.html
@14:52 it was at this point that the peace between humans and pigeons ended. Now, EVERY MORNING the service van was covered in pigeon poop, even when parked in the clear, there was pigeon poop EVERYWHERE.
Chris you should have kept a pigeon and trained it to make supply house runs for you!
Haha yes
Do you ever bother to get a fin comb out to try and straighten the bent over evap fins caused by the ice formation, or is it a case of time vs effort vs outcome = no significant difference?
I have an interesting question, if you plan on putting a sprayer on a condenser like that would it be beneficial to put a whole house water filter housing and filter at the spicket to help reduce the calcium they are rather inexpensive at $20 and they don’t destroy water flow. I put one on my pressure washer and it works beautifully
A plain filter wouldn’t eliminate the all the calcium in my opinion. It would take a very expensive filtration/ Reverse osmosis system.
Really nice video and love HVAC videos in general
Nice job. I'm hoping you'll make a video on that fancy Trane unit too!
‘I feel very bad for them’ he says while he sprays the pigeon in the face
Can one say biohazard.. when you touched that compressor the first time without a glove I cringed. I think your gonna need a case of viper cleaner for that rack. Stay safe and be well.

I found, that you have to move the defrost termination sensor from the side where the loops are and stick in the coil usually center of the coil. KE2 Therms are notorious for this inadequate defrost issue
Word on the street is some "Chicken Wire" does wonders !! LOL
I will discuss this on my Livestream this evening 8/9/21 @ 5:PM (pacific) on CZcams come over and check it out czcams.com/video/exNsJRteDOU/video.html
@@HVACRVIDEOS Just got home in time so I definitely will, thanks.
Lol those pigeon have rights man
You want Legionnaire's disease because this is how you get Legionnaire's disease....XD
The times the birds are bad.
Rip.
Great vid tho!
Congratulations on the 100th Hvac overtime!
Not alot of pigeons here too much anymore. We have several breeding pairs of Paragrine Falcons that hunt on the regular basis in the city!
