Easy Ambient Loops with Lubadh, Disting EX and FX Aid

- Just a short example of a small, basic eurorack setup of 3 modules for easily creating ambient drones/scapes. The Instruo Lubadh is receiving audio from the Disting EX, which is in Poly Wavetable mode. I'm using a custom Tape preset on the Lubadh, with fixed record speed, but playback is half-speed/-1 oct down. So anything I play is being recorded at normal speed but played back -1 oct.
Disting EX in Poly Wavetable mode, with very slow attack and long release times.
FX Aid for long reverb.
I'm using the Oxi One just in keyboard/preview mode set to a C Minor Pentatonic scale, just to play some random notes.

That was so relaxing. Felt so peaceful. Pictured a few favourite moments from my past. By the time it was over, I was smiling.
Top notch as always. So much from so little amazing how you squeeze all of that out of those 3 modules.
Bladerunner-ish sound & vibes. Excellent soundscape
Astonishing textures❤ Nice (almost) minimal setup😊
Absolutely beautiful!!! 🌌✨️🎶
Sounding great… cool little setup as well!
Nice work... pure atmosphere 🌠🎵💫🤙
Thank you for therapy time☯️❤🌎🙏
Hey mate that poly wavetable sound is niiiiice. Just starting to explore my disting ex via midi. So many nice things to find
Very nice sound ! Have a great week end !

Beautiful!🙏
Ready for some awesome music.
beauty! very soma cosmos like
🔥🔥🔥
If you want to get rid of that digital beep you need to disconnect the USB stick from the module.
Worked for me, at least
Might work for you too
wow, I went Instant Float Thanks !
💜🖤
Nice and instructive little patch, really appreciate this kind of content. What is your favorite reverb algo on fx aid?
I forget the name of it, Black Cloud? Something like that.
This is hitting all the good spots in my ears. I wish I could transform these sounds into a blanket and wrap myself in it.
PS - Where did you get those braided patch cables?
Thank you! They are Instruo cables!
So nice, did you program the lubadh preset yourself or is it one from the new update? I’ve been doing the same thing but manually in real time
It's the first preset, but I manually changed a couple of things in the file, mainly changing it to fixed recording speed.
@@stateazure Ah i see! i went into the txt file and was looking for a change in the playback speed setting but couldnt change it. Ill have another look and change to fixed recording speed
Hey SA, beautiful as always. I have a question, if you don't mind. Is the Lubadh really fixed, with 2.0? I had so much trouble with 1.2-1.3, I sold mine regrettably, but seeing some of you actively using 2.0 now, makes me want to re-purchase that lovely module. Thank you so much!
Thanks! What was your issue with the earlier version? When I first had the very first Lubadh version, I didn't like it and sold mine too. It was glitchy iirc, and I had real problems trying to get nice seamless loops, which I blamed on the looper not having the ability to go from Rec into Overdub mode, which is really important in loopers imo. The latest version still isn't perfect but it is much better (still no Rec into Overdub), and smooth looping is possible now, though sometimes with slight dips in volume where the loop joins, sometimes it's not noticeable. I like it a lot now and it'll be staying in the rack for sure!
@@stateazure Every time I fired up the modular, my Lubadh would freeze, or have no data. I couldn't load sound off the storage either, so I got a hold of Instruo, sent them a video of my problem and they concurred the problem was that during boot, the OS would crash, and said this would be fixed in 2.0, but a year went by and no 2.0 😁 So I got crabby and sold the Lubadh. 6 mos later, 2.0 is here! FWIW, I was trying to load 5min stereo loops, which may have been part of my problem, but pretty sure it should have handled that.
@@VisionsMusicGroup Yeah, that's not good. I didn't personally have any problems like that, I just didn't think it was a great looper back then and it's still a flawed design, but afaik it's probably the best looper we have in eurorack at the moment. There's a powerful looper in the Disting EX, but it's quite a pain to setup and use!
Where can a tutorial to make this sound be found?
Very nice! What case do you use? 4ms Pod48?
Thanks. It's a POD34 I think.
❤ Lovely. Which FX Aid reverb preset, do you remember?
I believe it was Black Hole!
Hey SA, it's been a while since we heard from you. You good?
Hi Nic, doing just fine, thanks! Just having a bit of a longer break between videos and trying to decide what to do next!
FL studio or Ableton ?
If you could add base voice in some areas it even makes better! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
