I just heard this song on the way home for the first time in many years. I think they used to play this song at Waldbaum's supermarket, where I worked for seven years. This is the second Bryan Ferry song I have heard that has a music video that I didn't know about.
It was late one Friday evening, many years back and I can remember being sat at an airport bar. I was just about to head off to spend the next few days meeting friends in Spain but as I looked around the bar I noticed I was surrounded by dozens of beautiful women. The sun was just beginning to set outside and a stunning red glow filled the room, then out of nowhere this song began to play over the speakers. I will never forget that moment.

I was a DJ in the 80s and still have all the vinyl I would lug around.. id play this in the we hours as a wind down.. I wouldn't change a thing. Great times.
Same here good man. I've worked like a food for 30+ years just to keep ahead and so many nice things in my life are choked out such as all the good music and memories of family and good friends long past.

Roxy music est à l instar de tears for fears, Simple minds , Genesis, Yes, Pink floyd, un groupe phare de la pop musique des années 80 90. N en déplaise à certains , on a tout à fait le droit d être nostalgique.
This song is nostalgic the wonderful 80s where the instruments of the music would get you high. Bryan Ferry you did that for music forever. As long as I live I will keep your music in rotation. 80s 4eva😅
Ah good memories! I have sometimes wondered if my 80’s childhood was good or just bliss in the midst of ignorance. I lived with my mother and Doberman on a council estate in Manchester. Even though my mother worked all hour’s money was tight to say the least. We had four TV channels and I had my Commodore 64. The music and great TV shows kept us going. In comparison to the modern life of today, I would happily return to the 80’s in a heartbeat.
Michael M The 80s defined us.. The music, the TV shows.. We can say "we were there and we lived it".. They may have been hard times.. But they were GOOD TIMES
I was in a dark depressing place back then, but before God got me out of it, music like this got me through it, especially on those lonely Saturday nights.
Very well put, and very eloquent. I won't go into it all just now cos we could talk about it forever, but music is dead now and this is where real music was at. The 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's will always be the era of REAL music. Real talent, style, flair, creativity and basically the whole package. Thank God for the music side of CZcams. Music may be done now, but it means nothing cos we will forever have our pick, whenever we like, of any and all the best music ever made!
I was born in the mid-fifties, so the 70´s rock bands became the biggest influencers in my formative years and that never really goes away. But, certainly, I find the best of the eighties stuff unbelievably nostalgic. This one is as good as it gets. Thanks for posting.
Born in 1985, 80s music is what touches me the most. I think my generation partially and the ones that followed were somewhat ruined culturally by the digital revolution. Apart from climate awareness, it was mostly downhill.
26 million listens (as of July 2023) says it all! Such unique and mesmeric talent Brian Ferry and his musicians. I was drawn in from hearing it as background music at my local supermarket. It deserves better than that though!
I remember I heard this song in the car at our summer hollidays south east in Norway, and I was about 11 I guess. This beautiful song played on the radio as the wind made waves into the endless cornfields and in the horizon the white cloudes turned dark and arose straight upward, and we wondered if there would be thunder tonight. When I hear this song all these good memories comes back to me. So to me this is summer music from good childhood momories :-) I thought I even heard this song in 82...or 84...but I see now it was released in 85. So it must been memories from some trips to Sweden, and then south east in Norway on the way home to the northwest coast where I lived...and still lives. Only John Lennon is able to make me feel a similar mood...with the song "Dream"...I love sunsual, harmonic music...that floaths and the rythms are there to carry forward the tones from the saxxophone...
Yeh you're right. We can bring some of the 80's back into 2016. Nostalgy can be good, and enjoying good memories and at the same time enjoying the present. Some things are better now, some things was better fefore. Let's pray and hope the worls is heading in the right diraction and that things will only get better. As they say, behind the dark cloades the sky is always blue. Even when the rain is pouring down, let's enjoy the joy coming out of good music and suddenly the sun will shine for me and for you :-)

Bryan Ferry just writes songs that cut right to your heart.
Years ago l read a quote from a music critic who wrote that Brian Ferry is a singer that made his mark on music by sounding like a vampire.i say long live the undead!
Sounds good to me!
Ohhh and they also used this as a soundtrack on american horror stories, where vampires were included
2023...Uma das canções mais lindas da música pop!
Pure silk.
The KING.
Never stop the dance.
💛🎧🐝
I was a DJ in the 80s and still have all the vinyl I would lug around.. id play this in the we hours as a wind down.. I wouldn't change a thing. Great times.
👍👏🤝
I love this song. It make me feel dreaming.
Now,l am almost 80 years old and l still love this music.
Working like a fool, for years, I forgot all about this beautiful song.
Michael Lafleur é agente tem que trabalhar duro por anos mesmo
We have to work hard for long time ... and the things go out , the life is over so fast
Michael Lafleur life goes by like a saxophone blow, you are right man
don´t stop,don´t stop the work...
Same here good man. I've worked like a food for 30+ years just to keep ahead and so many nice things in my life are choked out such as all the good music and memories of family and good friends long past.
You need to stop to dance.
that glamour and style in the music of Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music ... unreached.
The girls are gorgeous 😍
This is not a song, it's magic and magic! I love listening to his songs every time, a wonderful performer, he should be awarded an Oscar for this
WOW,ANOTHER ELON.Hi

This song wasn't written for a movie
What an anti depressant- saved my soul tonight-- best music by far.
Roxy music est à l instar de tears for fears, Simple minds , Genesis, Yes, Pink floyd, un groupe phare de la pop musique des années 80 90.
N en déplaise à certains , on a tout à fait le droit d être nostalgique.
Love it.
@@victorhawke8423 moi aussi.
Me too.
I think a lot of us have been there, a bit of outside help now and again is nothing to be ashamed of 👍👍❤️
Are you depressed?
Utterly timeless classic.
I was in a dark depressing place back then, but before God got me out of it, music like this got me through it, especially on those lonely Saturday nights.
true, the joy of lifes trappings wears off very quickly and another "fix" is needed then. The best things in life arent the most expensive.
Bryan Ferry officially invented ‘cool’!! Utterly brilliant song and video. Sexy, classy, haunting, moody and brilliantly talented.
Paul Griffiths like a libra
Couldn't agree more
Libra is pure elegance
Very well put, and very eloquent. I won't go into it all just now cos we could talk about it forever, but music is dead now and this is where real music was at.
The 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's will always be the era of REAL music. Real talent, style, flair, creativity and basically the whole package. Thank God for the music side of CZcams. Music may be done now, but it means nothing cos we will forever have our pick, whenever we like, of any and all the best music ever made!
You're absolutely right, that's exactly what I think. It's comforting to be able to listen to good music whenever we want to cause quality is forever
Thank God for the 80s where true unfettered creativity was allowed to freely flourish bringing forth so many gems like this!
Mon premier amour, j'écoutais ce morceau en vinyle et en boucle.
Souvenirs, souvenirs
I was born in the mid-fifties, so the 70´s rock bands became the biggest influencers in my formative years and that never really goes away.
But, certainly, I find the best of the eighties stuff unbelievably nostalgic. This one is as good as it gets.
Thanks for posting.
I was born in the '70s and '70s-'80s music hits me in the soul. I feel you.
@@johnsummers9660 You started early, John.
Right on Steve, you got er bud 👍
Born in 1985, 80s music is what touches me the most. I think my generation partially and the ones that followed were somewhat ruined culturally by the digital revolution. Apart from climate awareness, it was mostly downhill.
Steve you stole my thoughts, born mid-fifties here. And he is the best of the best of the 80s. I never tire of his music, like this one
Such a smooth tenor voice! I don't know why Bryan Ferry isn't more well known.
26 million listens (as of July 2023) says it all! Such unique and mesmeric talent Brian Ferry and his musicians. I was drawn in from hearing it as background music at my local supermarket. It deserves better than that though!
That sax is awesome
must be a cool supermarket.
This guy knows how to sing in a very melodic way. Great stuff!
Imagine sitting in the back of a dark flop lounge in NYC listening to this cat. He'd be such a perfect lounge act
Roxy has it all and Bryan voice is so good
Yes, I can see that! One perfect lounge act!
the dream lol
Now this is how comment on You Tube should look like. Thank you.
Thank you too, that's very kind of you to say :-)
thats what the 80's where all about not? just getting along with everybody an have fun
Even when the rain is pouring down, let's enjoy the joy coming out of good music and suddenly the sun will shine for me and for you :-)
you got that right !
8 weeks left of 2023 . Don't stop dancing , 2024 here we come 🎶
the 80s an ageless time of youth and pleasure, you will always be with me....and Im now 58!!
I worked for 14 years as a cop during night in the suburbs of Paris. I discovered this song during a night patrol. Now one of my favorite.
