algorithm dumped this on me, im sure glad it did. You have great taste for aesthetics.
Wow! Thank you so much i appreciate that 🙏😊
👏👏👏this was a blast, great looking ride! Look forward to more, thanx to Toasty for putting me on to you!
thank you very much, glad you liked it ! cheers to Toasty!!
The great thing about that paint job is that you can just use some black paint or a Sharpie on any chips or scratches. It'll match with the other black splashes.
Hahah yes ! Absolutely!!
That's hilarious ! That's a bike seller close to Munich here in germany and still exist ! That bike has come a long way mate ! To the rear hub situation , sorry this washer suppose to be there for sure because it is part of the rubber seal but what is a common mistake that people use the wrong tool ! Yeah sounds stupid but it is that way , there are two tools one is the casette remover tool (old style screw on ) and one to remove the lockring and the one for the old style casette is just a bit smaller bro. In the end I have to admit that those type of casettes were always a bit tricky to remove but there is a tool from shimano that has a center pin for this situation ! Have fun mate !
haha wow !! that is quite crazy. i wonder how it got all the way over here. thanks for the tip on the rear hub - glad its the way its meant to be - less worries haha. Cheers mate!!
Handlebars look good. Black forks and spacers are a great touch.
ayyy thank you my dude , black spacers are all i had haha but worked out!
prolly one of my favorite build from your channel, kudos to you Gary! 🍻
aw thank you my dude i appreciate that!
truing the wheel with a piece of tape is G.

Thank you very much I appreciate that !! Hell ya it was great to met Toasty! Such a surreal experience!!
0:24 it is now called Fahrrad Hemrich and is near to Munich, Germany🙂Nice combination of parts and frame again, the colourmatching is pretty cool😎You got it shine again⭐️⭐️⭐️Cheers, mate👋🏻
Ahhh good to know ! Thank you so much I think the colors turned out great too ! Cheers 😊😊
this one's skits!! recently started a build of my own after getting keen as watching you and toasty show us how it's done.
so far been loving it, plenty to learn and super rewarding seeing it come together.

You make old pushies look so fresh and this build is so clean and sharp, very Gary 👍
Thank you very much Glenn i appreciate that ! Happy to make them fresh again 😊
Bike looks great the bars are super neat.
Hairspray works well for grips, dries sticky and helps hold grips still.
Thank you very much I appreciate that 😊
Man I love these cockpit combo’s
ayyy thank you my g
Crazy how a bike end up on the other side of the world, would love to know its story. We have quite a lot of wheeler bikes over here in Germany, going to pick up a 6600 hybrid on Monday.
BTW I'd recommend chain lube for the freehub there's a second race with bearings on the inside, if you can't do a rebuild it's probably best to really flood it with lube.
ya thats totally crazy right - wondered how it got over here in the first place. wheeler are good bikes, i liked the ones that i had. okay thats a good idea , i have some of that i should of used it!
It's was my first new bougth MTB,in begin of the 90s in Germany❤
Wow !! That’s amazing ! How did you like it ?
@@garysprojects i loved it,the frame and weels are Rock solid, the suspension fork not,but i changeed it to a cromoly fork,i drove it 20years:) and loosed it by a thief.:(
@marnig9185 awesome ! Sounds great glad you were able to get some fun out of it
thanks Gary for another great bike rescue, Summer Cruiser sorted, great stuff!
Thank you Reece! That’s right , very cruisey!
Just in time for Aussie winter 😂
@@demonstructie 😂😂😂 basically summer all year round here
The sticker on the Bike is a Bikeshop near Munich, located in southern Germany! Crazy how far these Bikes travel in their lifetime!
so crazy !! cant believe ended up here in aus
I already know this is going to be sick 1 min in💥
hahaha thank you my g
Love your work Gary but was struggling to see the leather in the seat post refurbishment section. Then....I realised you were referring to the lever.
Hahah yes that’s it
i'm at 0:01 and I know is going to be a great build.
hahah thank you g
0:24 *I thought my eyes saw it wrong* That is a small Village based Bikedealer located near Munich Bavaria. More or less in the Middle of Cropfields. Zorneding is the nearest City, Wolfesing is only a few Houses in size. I googled it again and it was really the Last House . We drove past that shop alot when i was a small boy/Teenager.
If i rememer it correctly the Shop is no more existing, they closed ..god knows how long. . It was a Renovated Barn with Shopsite
ahhhh thats cool! its crazy that it ended up all the way here. would love to know how it got here haha
Nice looking bike that
cheers mate i appreciate that!
Gary 🅿️ is a ⛽️
about the same color 🤣
love the details !
-the splatter paint job
-the contrast black fork with the black seatpost
-the overall balance of mostly black parts with hints of silver parts dotted in
-and those bars look so comfy
side note video idea : you ever thought about doing a “rate/review my followers bikes” video ?
Thank you very much ! stoked with how it turned out, i think the parts came together pretty well too haha.
thats a great idea for a video!! maybe will do something like that in the future! cheers
@@garysprojects I will send you my bikes to get roasted!😅
🤣🤣🤣 🔥🔥🔥 might go too hard 😂
Sharp looking bike Gary as usual😊😊😊
Thank you very much my dude !! 🙏🙏🤠🤠
the build is so rad!! love it ... fthe sticker at 00:27 : Im living twenty mins away from the bikeshop where its from :)
Thank you my dude !! Haha so crazy it’s so close to you and the bike so far away!!
That’s what I love about this thirty year old mtbs… they got a story ☺️
Another banger! Love it
thank you my dude i appreciate that!
Rear end noise is beneficial.....The geared bikes hear you coming and they scatter accordingly
hahah makes sense!
New video = coffee with Gary
Love a nice brew
A.B.B. !! Another Bitchin' Build ....with attention to detail nice job again Gary !
Hahaha nice ! Thank you David I appreciate that !
Sick!!
Thanks mate!!
For the heasset screw you can mout the stem above the steering tube and that will guide the starnut straight through
ohhh interesting like do use a stem cap as well, to keep the starnut from hitting the side of the stem?
Nice cruiser/mtb/single-speed build! 😎👍 I got that same raceface bash guard! with matching chainguide on my old school dh bike. 😁 Btw, how many bike you got? Just curious... Hahaha... Btw, keep up these nice bike builds, and keep chucking parts on your builds! 😎👍🚴
Thank you very much! nice!! yes its a nice guard i think, not too heavy either. mmmmm i probably have about 8-9 last time i counted 🤣 need to get rid of some soon. Will do my best , thank you for the support! 🙏😊
Wowowowowzie! But some things did get better with age, I do not want any kind of integrated dropout on an aluminum frame
hahah yeah the hanger you cant replace !
@@garysprojects ones Ive seen are rediculously thick but they dont still make much sense since they bent the frame
I have the freehub disassembly tool and its not that expensive. Just needed some filing though for the notches as they werent super precise to fit fully into the lockring part. $5 five years ago however it came on the slow boat from overseas and took a month. I use Phil's tenacious oil for the bearings however heard that 90w gear oil or chainsaw bar oil will work. Both are quite cheaper and you get 3-4x more thans Phil's and i will try either or when i run out.
oh thats great to know thank you . yeah i though about getting the tool but i dont really do that many freehub services haha. but i should get one, will be good for the future. thanks for the tip on the oil as well. cheers!
rad bike rad builder
Honored ! Thank you very much 🙏😊
why so clean everytime bruh..
hahahah thank you my g , i have a problem😆
🎉
🤠🙏
Love your work Gary, can you give a tip on where to find a generic fork like this?
Cheers mate I appreciate that!
I just off fb market place, but if you google 1 1/8 threadless rigid 26 fork , i see a few places sell them in aus for 50-100$
That Shimano seat clamp looks a good match to the old Shimano 600?/Ultegra? QR skewers. I call them 🐰 ears.
Chanel No.5 rims: So chic!
mmm im not sure! its cool whatever it is! hahah yes the rims!! great sticker
Gary my dude. Is that a M900 XTR seatpost clamp I see 👀 Send it my way plz 😅
is it??? i have no idea haha it was black but i made it silver
i did look at it! the lever does look like one for sure haha
This one is sweet. Do you still have the drill press? It might have helped with the seat clamp. I'm still working on converting my 1986 Miyata to 1x9, but it's slow-going. I was going to do a 2x, but it was getting too complicated. The problem I'm having now is that I had downtube shifters, but the non-standard mount for them, and trying to find the conversion to cable stops for it is impossible. I have to make something, but I don't really have the skills for that. Probably have to go with a clamp-on style.
cheers mate! yes i do, i did run it on the drill press for a bit just to finish it up. ahhh yes sometimes takes a little bit to work out. oh yeah thats annoying those old style mounts, hopefully you can work something out. Cheers!
sick build, very helpful to me - your shifters are in the canti position rather than the v-brake position, i got the same shifters, you wont have linear pull rn btw though
Cheers mate I’m glad! Are you talking about the levers ? I think you can only adjust the modulation not the cable pull - (reference to m600 shimano manual )
Ohhh sorry I am probably wrong, I read some stuff on forums that did seem more like hearsay . Love your work I find it very inspirational that you do all this stuff with what you've got and get on with it.
all good! can get confusing sometimes! cheers mate i appreciate that - gotta make best with what you have!
🔥
👩🚒
That came up a treat Gary luv ya work, is there a Melbourne store that sells the Mothbars or is it acase of ordering them from the website?
Thank you my dude I appreciate that ! Ya unfortunately no stockist in Australia yet , try @magiccomponents or @crumbworks.co on Instagram ! Cheers !
@@garysprojects cheers I’ll give that a whirl.
Sick build! Sticker is german btw :)))
thank you i appreciate that!! awesome good to know thanks :)
tidy!
Cheers!
where did you get the forks? thanks
just off fb market place, but if you google 1 1/8 threadless rigid 26 fork , i see a few places sell them in aus for 50-100$
f'ckin awesome man. You can eat muff on those handlebar
🤣🤣🤣 thx u my dude
Muff trail snax?
If I go out for an early morning ride will that affect my intermittent fasting?
what's the polish stuff at 2:39? can't quite make it out
It’s called T-Cut color restorer, sorry for my accent lol
When you say single speed chain is it a 1/8"?
Nah it’s 3/32 , I meant it was on a single speed bike before , so the length was already cut
I still dont fully understand the point of a tensioner on a single speed. if the chain is tight shouldnt you not need one? I have no experience and am just curious.
Most single speeds these days have horizontal drop outs which allows you to pull the wheel back to tension the chain. This bike has vertical dropouts so you can’t pull the wheel back. The tensioner helps keep the chain in place without it being too loose. Hope that makes sense !
@@garysprojects ah i see that makes a lot of sense thanks for clearing that up for me :)
How many turbos does this man have??? 😂
its the same one 🤣
Is wheeler a high-end bike brand?
they made both high end and low end bikes !
Easier way to install the star nut is to put an extra long bolt through an old stem cap and use the stem cap as a guide
Wait how does that work ? Wouldn’t be the same as hammering the bolt ?
@@garysprojects At first it is, but once the star nut is far enough in that the stem cap can sit on the steerer tube, you can use it as a guide for the rest of the way. Maybe pointless I guess haha
ohhhh i see what you're saying! that makes sense , to straighten it out at the end. i will give it a try next time thanks!
whats the song yo?
moonlight haze - bird creek
its from the youtube audio library

Nicee
If they front wheel isn't broken don't fix it I say.
thats it mate !
these forks look slack man. For a bike of this age
Ya slack headtube angle, like driving a Cadillac
klunker in danish is testicles
Fantastic 😂
klunker.....ppl keep misapplying that term
what is a klunker to you
Gary, that's an ugly build
ugly to you, beautiful to me !
Ah, someone needs a friend. Gary won’t feed the trolls ✌🏻
