  • At Children’s Mercy, we believe LOVE WILL create a healthier world for kids.
Love inspires us to offer more leading specialties, to research game-changing innovations, and to provide only the most compassionate, comprehensive care.
Because love has no limits. And with it, neither do we.
Kids come first at Children’s Mercy. Always have, for more than 120 years. Every day employees work towards our vision:
To create a world of well-being for children
And every day our employees strive to fulfill our mission:
Children's Mercy is a leading independent children's health organization dedicated to holistic care, translational research, breakthrough innovation, and educating the next generation of caregivers.
Together, we transform the health, well-being and potential of children, with unwavering compassion for those most vulnerable.
Half a million times a year, a child comes to our doors. We take care of them all, fulfilling our non-profit mission, thanks in part to generous individuals, families, businesses and communities. Our world-class child-centered approach and family-centered care comes to life in everything we do.
    But we don’t stop there.
The scientists at our Children’s Mercy Research Institute are relentless in their search for answers. We work diligently every single day, making a difference for children today and into the future.
We’re busy training the next generation of health care providers. Thousands of students each year choose to receive their training here alongside our more than 800 doctors, hundreds of allied health professionals and thousands of nurses.
Our employees are among the top in their fields, helping not only our kids, but children everywhere. The medical community is counting on us, choosing us regularly to write textbooks and lead professional organizations.
Our care does not end at the walls of the hospital. We have outpatient clinics and urgent care centers that ring the Kansas City metro, as well as clinics in cities across Kansas and Missouri. Our staff participates in more than 60 local- and state-level non-profit boards, advisory committees and government agencies. We provide hundreds of millions of dollars in uncompensated care.
All of this adds up to making Children’s Mercy the absolute best place for children’s medical care in the Kansas City region and one of the best anywhere. Don’t just take it from us:
US News and World Report ranks us near the top in all the categories it measures.
The American Nurses Credentialing Center awarded us the first Magnet Designation for excellent care in Missouri or Kansas.
More than 80 percent of our patients give us a 9 or 10 (10 being best) in quality of care.
We are a “Certified Healthy KC Company,” which recognizes our efforts to create a workplace focused on health and wellness.
But the most important thing to know about us is this: We’re all about children. It’s all we do. And we couldn’t be more honored and proud.

The doctors and nurses in Children's Mercy's NICU saved my son's life in 2008. I'll be forever grateful for their efforts. The camera walked right by his pod in the beginning of this video. Thank you for all you do for our children, CMH!

When my parents and sisters and I lived in Missouri I spent over night there and helped me feel better when I had an abscess behind my left tonsil and they also diagnosis me with Autism when I was a bit older because my parents were looking for answers why I was struggling socially and had communication problems. They got the answer after so many years all grown up I hold this hospital in high regard if I live in the Kansas city area of Missouri and again and have a child I will take my child there for treatment if he or she got hurt or sick.
