@@THEMODELGENE Shalom, Kate, Amber, Carolyn, Eva, Tyra were all around the same age group. All born either in 1973 or 1974, and their careers took off in the early to mid 90s. They were part of the new wave of supermodels in the 90s.

That Alexander McQueen show moment was just perfect. The way she acted terrified, weak and vulnerable like a newborn gazelle was so fitting in contrast to the aggressive mechanical movements of the robots.
That was an incredible performance. And the fact that she was improvising that range of emotions with such intensity shows how great of an actor she is.

They might noy have existed but if you listened to what she said all her modeling gigs were also performances. It wasnt just about posing pretty for a camera. You had to act, perform, create a character that people could connect with. Whi h in turn, meant that more people would most likely pirchase the product she was modelling. Or at least boost the companies product.

I think there was at least one video about a supermodel's favourite outfits. During lockdown Claudia Schiffer filmed her closet for Vogue or some other magazine. Not sure if others did similar videos.

I love Shalom. I was so lucky to win her Versace bathrobe in a Vogue auction. She's been in some many iconic moments- those Irving Penn shots! The McQueen dress is obviously a standout. She just radiates.
The way how she interpreted and handled the spray painted dress assignment, shows you she is a very smart woman who understands the elements that surround being a model. It’s not only about being pretty. Such a professional. The new girl can only wish.
It’s amazing when she talks to simply about turning to another incredible model and just being like “keep up, turn with me, we’ll handle it” and Amber just followed her naturally. As someone who barely walks on flat ground without falling I am in awe of her confidence in her own movement.
I've always loved Shalom Harlow. I had no idea she struggled with health issues for so long. I'm so happy to see her healthy and loving life.

Such a wonderful and articulate lady. Really interesting to see her look back and comment on some of moments in her career. Shalom was part of the golden 90s era and so happy to see her healthy and back.

I am really enjoying this because I've always loved supermodels or just models since the 70's. Watching them reminisce about the times behind each outfit is interesting and entertaining, giving us a peek into their former world. Shalom has such a calming voice.
shalom has such a calming energy, she seems truly at peace with herself and just listening to her talk lifts my mood
She is an artist herself with an outstanding emotional living and understanding of every runway. And she is extremely smart: I am not the person in fashion at all, but this video literally taught me how to understand fashion. I assume not all the models treat their craft same. Shalom is just cool!
