- This is a Long-Term Review of the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra: 6 Months Later. The Axon 40 Ultra has had some down time from the hype earlier this year where it was showcased as the BEST Under-Diaply Selfie Camera Smartphone. How does it now stack up six months down the line? In this Review I reflect on my personal experience with the device in terms of design, comfort, under-display camera tech, charging speed, battery life, display, camera performance, speaker quality, gaming performance, throttling, heat management, benchmarks, and software improvements.

Ever since I owned the OnePlus 7 pro, I cannot stand screen interrupted by hole punch displays or notch or.... Dynamic island LOL. I've since bought the Xperia 1 III and will upgrade once under display cameras come out with 400+ PPI screens (even if front camera takes bad pictures because I don't care for front camera quality)

Google can easily pull this under display tech to the next lvl with their photo processing algorithms
Its not about camera software. Its about screen hardware. The screen blocks almost all light to the selfie cam..thats why the selfie photo & video looks really bad at low light & blurry with bright light. Zte & other companies need to use transparent screen to fix this problem

Have owned this phone for 6 months now. I am very very picky when it comes to buying phones. My requirements are very demanding. The photos and videos on all 3 lenses are beyond stunning. Specially the pro mode video along with Moment Anamorphic lens is as close you can get to making it look like a cinema camera
My cloud storage is half full 15gb, these new cameras extremely big file size 6 megabyte per photo, where do u store all the photos?
@@fynkozari9271 I rooted another spare android phone and installed pixelify. It gives you unlimited storage on google photos with original resolution. I transfer all my pics and videos every month to that phone(from all my devices, iphone, Zte, drone, action cam, dslr) and upload to google photos. Then clear my device storage on all devices. Redo it every month. I upload roughly 200 gb of data every month for free this way…you can try too.
Hi! Is this a really good phone? I am planning to buy one. I do not use the front camera much but I do use the rear camera a lot and I use the phone for emails, Whatsapp, social media and a lot of calling.

I'm not gonna lie, I just wanted to see cellular compatibility which is kind of a big deal for US residents considering I think we get stuck with the mainstream phones and not anything that's slightly different. Even pixels for awhile didn't have the best cellular compatibility until Google improved it a few generations in.

I almost got this phone until I learned about the hamstrung chip (Samsung chip) and tried to get the Axon 50 but it didn't seem to be made?

Hole punch is from 2019 and still going on , it will be continuing still 2024 , but charging technology jumped from 50w to 200w and in 2024 we'll get a 500w chager adaptor for mobiles 😀😀

What we need is better battery tech that can last several days between charging. Not super fast charging which gives companies an excuse to include a smaller battery. Nobody wants to carry around that brick/cord or even have access to a power outlet.

Of course, smartphones from ZTE are quickly on sale because the software is only updated very sloppily, which makes the device uninteresting. And in view of the lack of IP certification, every current Apple smartphone feels like a bargain. You can get much more durable ones for $700 and more. But if you want to spend that much money on insignificant technical gimmicks, you are welcome to do so. However, I would not want to store any sensitive data on such a device.

I love the axon 30 just because of it's massive size. I really enjoy the cameras on the 40 ultra . The only problem with ZTE is the extremely lacking selection of cases for the devices
