Thank you, Charlie - my vote in the awards for Chadwick has been submitted. What I have to say is that I always look forward to your videos, not just to get inspiration on how to do things - but seeing what you have done and your achievements inspire me to get off my backside and try to make progress on my home layout. I like your approach of setting hard deadlines, what you will achieve over the next three months. That's a key to making actual progress. Thanks, and all the best for the coming months.
Thanks Ken, that’s very kind of you to say so. Regards, Charlie
Happy birthday, Charlie. You got my vote.

Charlie, your channel is head and shoulders above any of your competitors. Your obvious technical skill presented with your genuine self-deprecating good humour and your willingness to describe your disasters as well as your triumphs, make your videos compelling and uplifting in equal measure. You are a light in a gloomy world and I'm indebted to you. I have voted for you; if there is any justice you will win, and by a very large margin. Good luck and very best wishes, Alastair
Thank you Alastair, for such a heartwarming comment.
It’s comments such as yours that make my efforts worthwhile.
Regards, Charlie
I agree, I love the coverage you of everything including the DIY. All the best and Happy Birthday . Alex.

Thanks Williams, Margaret and I found it very enjoyable event. Regards, Charlie
I was lucky enough to bump into Charlie at East Somerset Models on Saturday, In fact I didn’t even know the shop existed until I watched Charlie’s video about signal boxes. I’m now a regular visitor. What a nice guy Charlie is.. he was just leaving and I was trying to distract my wife from seeing what I was spending. I would have liked more time with him as I’m just starting in the hobby, but thanked him for the CZcams videos , and has got my vote.
Thanks Kevin, it was nice to say hello to you and your wife, albeit briefly.
Hopefully you bought something suitable. Regards Charlie

Hi Charlie I think your model railway Chadwick parkway is one of the he best railway on CZcams I also think that your CZcams channel is brilliant I always watch you cheers for all your tips and keep up the good work and you've got my vote thanks again
Thanks Mr H, I’m so pleased that you find the channel interesting. Regards, Charlie
Nice update Charlie, yr layout has moved on so much, havent been able to touch mine in 2 years due to hvg been in hospital. Those Dapol canopies are lovely, I picked up several of the Airfix originals several years ago at fairs when things were cheap as chips. Painted them up in Midland Region colours and they look lovely on my faux Burton On Trent station area recreated back in the steam era when we used to visit as children and the beautiful station was still in situ. Cheers
Thanks Paul, I never new that they were originally from Airfix. Regards Charlie
Hi Charlie, good luck success breeds success I guess 😊 layout is looking splendid, I think I prefer the disc shunt signals myself, now imagine having a stacked multi route set and having them all working. Cheers Mike
Thanks, Mike, and yes, they would truly look remarkable. Regards, Charlie
Another great video mate. I already voted for you after seeing your Facebook post :) Have a good weekend. Take care
Thanks mate, very much appreciated. Stay safe, regards, Charlie
Hymek my favourite diesel hydraulic lovely sound great little headshunt Charlie. Good luck in the vote.😊
Thanks Peter, one of my favourites too. Regards, Charlie
Happy Birthday, Charlie. You're channel has my vote. Finally, I have a double oval track (with two antique double-slips,) down on a 54" X 54" kitchen table, run DC and DCC (via alligator clips) and run my locomotives and a few cars... Again, Finally. My expenditures have almost exceeded my income (but, it's a habit [from some 'hang-ups], and passion) with the (finally) arrival of two Rapido Demonstrator locomotives (sound/dcc)... my sanity remains intact on a partial basis. My 55th birthday in October, a few infamous anniversaries passed, and a few dreams to achieve also in the works. On a personal note (an ironic statement on social media), I want to thank you for you. At your age, I have my hopes intact. Being alone is hard on my soul... but the model trains keep me going (and are an investment) ...patience comes and goes, but time seems to keep passing by. You are an inspiration to me with your model trains and sense of humour (or, perhaps that's patience again?). Right now, I can only "click" for supporting you and your endeavours. Please keep up the good work. Good show, Charlie! ...and regards to the missus. John British Columbia, CA (and hopes for a move back to Bellingham, WA.)
Thanks John, for such a heartwarming comment. It’s comments such as yours that give me the inspiration to keep the channel going.
Good luck with your project,
regards, Charlie

Just been to Aldi and purchased a rechargeable battery soldering iron they are just what you need for working on the model railway. Works well and lasts about 20 min if on permanently. It’s small and ideal with no wires ro worry about. Think it was about £19.
Great.
Thanks mate, hopefully many people will read this comment and investigate. Regards, Charlie
Thank you Charlie.
You’re most welcome angel. Regards, Charlie
And to you too, Stephen in eight days time. Regards, Charlie
Hi Charlie, sorry for a late comment, but a hand operation intervened. I have placed my vote for your excellent channel. Another great video thank you. I love the videos not only for the interesting and informative information, but also for the humour and the fact that you accept, use and change your layout to suggestion from subscribers. Love the your layout changes and update. As my layout is small and your big I get a lot of enjoyment when you add or change things on yours. Take care mate
That’s very kind of you to say so David. We should never be embarrassed by our mistakes. We just learn and move on. Regards, Charlie

Thanks Kieth, that’s very kind of you to say so. Regards, Charlie
Youhave my vote Sir. Most enjoyable channel thank you.
As you were mentioning removable sections of the layout, could you please do a short video showing how you decide where the track breaks are to be located, how you separate the track(s) before removing a board and the process of realigning the boards securely in the exact position required for the track to be lined up precisely, and finally how to remake the track joins between boards. This has always been something I have wondered about when watching you build your layout but feel it is an important detail I must have missed. I think it would make for an interesting topic to cover. All the best and good luck in the vote.
Yes I will try to explain in the future video. However, I simply bolt the sections together and then bridge the joins with short tracks. This makes it easy should I need to separate the boards in the future. Regards Charlie
Vote submitted, good luck mate 🚂
Thanks Lindsey, you’re too kind. Regards Charlie

Hi Charlie. Look forward to every video you do. If you looking at iTrain would love a video on block detection. James at DCC Train Automation sorting out what i need for new layout for my "Train Cave" that is being delivered in about two weeks. You inspire me so much, so rebuilding my late Dad's 40 year old layout. Hence John's Son Street is the name. Good luck in awards, will be there to cheer you on. Thanks again formpic at Ali Pally.
Many thanks for your vote JS. Good luck with your new layout when it arrives, I’m sure it will be great. Regards, Charlie
great video Charlie you have my vote good luck. would like a short running session video
Many thanks for your vote, it’s much appreciated. Stay safe, regards, Charlie
I find, some of the speakers make a huge difference to the sound, I recently fitted some of Roads and Rails new speakers to my Class 33, absolutely wonderful crisp bass out of those speakers for their size
Yes, I agree, speakers have come on in leaps and bounds in recent years. Regards, Charlie
A "block detection for dummies" video would be pretty intresting id say. I still dont fully understand how it all works XD
This stage of layout construction is always my favourite, you can see things coming together and get all excited about what hill to put where and what houses and stuff. Great fun!!
Yes I agree, it’s part is both challenging and exciting. Regards, Charlie
Charlie it was tough Richard from Everard Junction nominated too, yours and Everard are my favourite model railway channels. You know a good vlog when you see how many minutes run time it has and it’s over in a flash. I tried to vote for both of you but that’s not allowed. The dilemma, in the end I tossed a coin and it came down Chadwick! Sorry Richard. Best of luck to both of you.
Thanks Colin, much appreciated. Perhaps vote for Richard next time, it would only seem fair. Regards, Charlie
Love your videos... Vote done..

Thanks Andy, that’s most kind. Regards, Charlie
Great video as always Charlie. You got the headhunt signal at Swanage wrong though. The yellow bar being horizontal means that access to the headhunt is permitted, the bar being moved the 45 degrees allows access to the platform road after the crossover points have been changed.
Sorry Chris, yes I cocked that one up. Regards, Charlie
@@ChadwickModelRailway Easy mistake! A yellow shunt signal gives permission for the driver to go past it horizontal provided the points are set to designated places (e.g. your headhsunt). If the points are set to the running line then horizontal means stop. There are not too many left but there were a few which were converted to position light and the pivot light was yellow with a white on and off light.
Today there are locations where we include "opposing locking omitted" allowing two shunt signals either sides of a set of points to be showing proceed at the same time so that trains can go back and forward without any action from the signaller.
As always, a great video
