For those who say this is a shitty movie; it may not be well-executed, but it is one of the few films that metaphorically explains the disaster of falling into drugs and how the line between the real and the fake becomes invisible.
Additionally, this movie brings into the conversation something that not all films know how to explain: the desperation and the feeling of having a parent or relative suffering from an addiction.
Now that is a great metaphor. My theory is that it all was made up and he suffered a breakdown from getting fired and got into heavy drugs

The narration/recap makes this seem like a half-way decent movie. Let me assure you, it is a boring, jumbled mess. I was actually irritated with how bad it was and the end was intolerably anticlimactic.
A lot of movies have a really awesome concept but the execution is not always matching
Honestly if your movie can be turned from an hour and 43 minutes film to a less than 12 minute coherent recap then that is a terrible film

So what happend to the other world, the real world. They went back into the matrix get some blue gems to stop realities bleeding into other, but didn't manage to collect enough for them to both return. Seems unanswered, unless I missed something.
It's supposed to be a metaphor for how, for you, it feels like everyone else doesn't understand while it's actually you that is living in a delusional world as you slide your way into habitual drug addiction.
The "real" world bugging out and turning unreal is the red thread that shows you this near the end.
The movie was so much worse than the recap made it seem. Nothing gets resolved or explained

I haven't even seen the movie but that is a technique widely used to give a movie more depth exactly because it allows the viewer to start making their own theories, although in this case it seems rather obvious to me at least.

Women once more. This movie proves the point that fiction mimics real life. Because this is going to be in the future where if AI texts over all most of the jobs and people can't rely on jobs to stop people becoming poor it's gonna be a monetary monthly payment. Everybody will be paid a certain amount to money like social security almost to basically sit home and relax. While AI do all the work we're going this way also but can it be maintained? I'm not too sure about that. I don't want to live in a world like that where you just get paid to sit around. Thinking that it's gonna be a better world? I don't think it will be a better world. No, no yeah, we are depending on AI and computers right now and look what's going on. We're becoming dumb lazy in a week.

the theme of the movie is like the matrix. a simulated world which exists within a framework. in the movie matrix, neo is also able to stop telekinetically the machines from harming him and trinity, alluding to the fact that perhaps the reason he was able to do that in the real world is because the real world is also a simulation inside a framework created by a God level intelligence.
