Fallout: New Vegas is a action role-playing game set in the Mojave Desert, years after a nuclear war left much of the United States decimated. The player controls a courier who survived an assassination attempt from an unknown assailant. The goal of the game is to complete a series of quests to find the assailant, which eventually culminates in a war between different governing factions vying for control of the Mojave Desert.

Also, if you run up to mines and press the "use" key before they detonate, you can disarm them and pick them up to use as a weapon yourself!

I think the mines are like 45? Other traps can be Repair, Survival or Guns.
Edit: Again, I keep reading comments with advice for vanilla New Vegas, he is playing with the _Begin Again_ modlist.
Edit 2: I am sure he already knows there is a mechanic to disarm traps and mines.
But as you see here 1:32:30 he needed a magazine to disarm a Bear Trap, because he didn't reach the requirement of Survival 23.
This playthrough has been fantastic - Always great seeing a first "discovery" of all the joy and jank of F:NV!
Looking forward to the next episode! Have fun, and play the way you want! Some tips you might want to consider - keep a melee with you to conserve ammo while you're leveling up and ammo doesn't weigh anything in normal/hard mode so just take them.

Highly recommend picking up any ammo you find. In base game, ammo has no weight so there's no cost to having it. Plus you can just sell or craft to another ammo type
Your voice reminds me of a certain character in this game.

Select weapon you bought mod for (in your case laser pistol) then look around menu there should be mod weapon popup, press that button and it will list all available mods you have in your inventory that you have not already applied. Once applied mods from weapons cannot be removed so take notice what you apply to your weapon.

I have the game, but never got too deep. I think i need to dust it off and give it another go!
I hope you've had a chance to get a few tips because the game is brutal as it is.
One thing I DID do was use one of the empty houses in Good springs as a stash house to fast travel to. All the things you've dropped or left could have made you some caps.

It's interesting how this started with something like a diplomacy build, but the playthrough's tended towards defensive ranged. IMO stealth-based skills pair well with diplomacy, because you can engage on your own terms, and there's a lower chance that you'll miss the diplomacy option (IIRC, killing any of the nightkin on site closes off the option to negotiate with their leader).
We want more of the witcher 3 😭😭

You' really are the Best with playthroughs no matter the game.
Honestly this mod makes the game more challenging. I had no problem clearing the basement in vanilla game on hard. Nightkin never knocked me down in vanilla.
I think that'd be alright to lower difficulty especially for a first playthrough.
It is fun to watch you genuinely fear nightkin though lol. That's a great mod.
People either love _Begin Again_ (the wabbajack modlist with more than 300 mods that he is using) or hate it.
The gameplay experience is so different from vanilla that you need to change how you engage with the game.
26:54 ah Ranger Station Charlie, i go to this location to go find Caesars legions roaming about and to kill them for the stuff they got, which does sell for a pretty penny if you so happen to kill them.
1:50:45 ace what a very funny reaction to the nightkin jumpsscare and it feels like i haven't seen ya since live witcher episode its been awhile but the NV episodes are getting better i know by heart to keep scarp metal and electronics, duct tape, wonder glue and wrench to build weapon repair kit plus since you was in novac rent the room you're gonna need it

Thinking about new Vegas isn't good for me to try to sleep. All i do is think about stuff to try and wind up getting back up and playing more.
You can get a room and a bed in No Voc which is (No vacancy)
35:26 Keep an eye on that, the trade in the game is more focused on items than money: when the seller can't afford all you want to sell, you just keep buying more stuff (or sell less) until you are even.
41:38 They gave you a task, not a quest.
The difference is that you get a note as a reminder of something that your character _wants_ to do, but that you as a player don't _need_ to do.
And you get tasks a lot, if you don't take time to read your notes/listen to holotapes often, the menu will get cluttered with so much stuff that you won't know where they came from xD
51:17 Hint: -in that same town there is a possible companion. You will need to do them a favor before though.-
-Which I recommend you do regardless if you don't want them as a companion, because your room in the motel acts as a player house. If you help that possible companion, you get the place permanently for free.-

You break ammo of weapons you don't use, to craft ammo for the weapons you use. Same if you want a different kind of ammo for the weapon you already use.
Say you want 10mm Armor Piercing rounds, you will start breaking other kinds of ammo for "Lead" "Powder, Pistol" and "Primer, Pistol" and if you don't have enough "Case, 10mm" you breakdown a few of the basic 10mm rounds too.
Then you have materials to craft "10mm AP" rounds.

1:06:37 Another way to change ammo faster, is to press 2. It will cycle between the different types of ammo.
1:24:14 Each mod only applies to a type of weapon. Some weapons will never have a matching mod.
To know if you can mod your weapon of choice, press X while selecting it, it will show you the 3 compatible mods... if you can mod that weapon at all of course.
For an easy example, the mod you bought "Laser Pistol Focus Optics" only works with Laser Pistols xD

The funny thing (for us viewers of course, seeing you scared is great content) is that there is a room near the entrance to this place with the Nightkin Leader.
You do a favor for him and they just leave without any combat. If you kill one Nightkin before finding him however, you need to kill all of them xD
It is times like this where the advice: *keep a manual save every 20 minutes* makes a big difference ;)
You can VATS grenades and thrown weapons also as melee, trowing spears are devastating in original Fallout NW but i dunno how good are they in this mod.

Is there a way I can get the mod list I like the way his UI is set up and I like a few other things that I've noticed are different from vanilla any help would be appreciated

I'm really enjoying your play through - especially the outrageously silly decisions you make because you have no patience and just speed run. Your enthusiasm is pretty infectious though, ngl. Just remember this game was rigged from the start.

Little word of advice, once you get really good at bartering your play through will be way easier. And I'm not just talking about your characters skill level in it. I see you avoid taking all the energy weapon ammo such as energy cells and microfusion cells. I'd recommend looting any ammo you come across from now on because it weighs nothing and its very common so you can get bunches of it and sell it.
Actually I'm not sure if those mods make ammo weigh anything. I've never played with mods in Over 10 years of playing these games so maybe I'm wrong. But looting light common items is still a great way to get a decent chunk of change
@@noahtaube9323 If he was playing Hardcore, all the ammo would have weight. But he is not: he is playing on normal Hard difficulty ^^
What I don't know is if the heavy ammo like a mini-nuke or a missile, still has weight even without Hardcore.
Taking everything else in the modlist into consideration, it would make sense for those to have a weight.
But again, I don't know for sure.

Take all ammo Ace even flamer ammo and energy cells you can sell them and they weigh nothing just like other ammo

I agree, but base New Vegas with no mods can be rough to get through, especially if you are playing in 2024 for the first time lol just experiencing it in any form is worth it tho
@@Insaniac969 that's fair. I think graphic mods and bug fixes would have been cool. But tale of two wastelands is doing weird things here with gear progression and it also tweaks the lore around.
@@valmarnecroa6021 I am sure most of the changes are not just because of Tale of Two Wastelands, but the wabbajack modlist _Begin Again_ (more than 300 mods) on top of TTW.

@mikeyb0121 sure but not the only point. The mod gives you the option to skip to new vegas. The secondary objective of the modpack is to enhance both games. And to me that was what I cared about most.

Ah yes the typical first time players that don’t know that the nightkin problem can also be settled diplomatically lol all good almost everyone does it on their first playthrough myself included they are big monsters after all
I never managed to solve it this way. I thought boss just always goes nuts, so that might be a bug, sort of.
