This one is especially well done and important to bring across.
Most dog owners mean well but are quite oblivious of inkonsistent commands, I really had to “train” myself to be super aware of what I try to teach my dog and how to achieve it.

So true! Training ourselves is often the first step to better training for our dogs. Kudos to you for making the effort! 🌟

How to hug your dog. Sit on the grass in your backyard or a park. If the dog comes and sits next to you, and leans against you, it is safe to lightly put your arm around them. Then a brief hug will probably be acceptable. But if they look away for "no reason" [sights, smells or sounds can distract them, which is OK], then you may have reached their limit. Go back to an arm lightly around them, and rub their belly, or preferably, their chest. It is just common sense really. Dog can like their ears being caressed. It varies with the dog.

Great tips! Every dog has their own comfort zone, and it sounds like you've got a gentle approach to finding it. Thanks for sharing your hug strategy! 🐶💕

I've just had Scout the Weimaraner neutered today.
And it took me a year to make the decision but he won't even look at me at the moment.
Work to do from my point of view....
    Thanks for the video SB

Wow, a big step, that one! Hope he'll recover fast and let you back into his good books in no time (a few well-timed treats and cuddles have been known to work majic there) 😊💖 Will be curious about how his behavior changes in the next couple of months

@Smelly-Belly Thanks il keep you in loop. He's making a great recovery and had rump steak amd chicken today. I'm a retired teacher so being a nerd and totally being obsessed with my mut it took ages and lots of research to make the decision
