- The Gran Colombia Independence War. Spain begins DoD in this nightmarish conflict with her former colonies; a war that most sane players white peace out. We all rightly consider this war pointless for Spain in multiplayer. It's extremely difficult to win, and the rewards for winning are terrible. Why would anyone ever want to fight this war outside a singleplayer challenge? Let's find out!
Also, why didn't Venice help our alliance in the East Europe Death War? They have direct interest against Illyria, and the Ottomans, and are a contender for the formation of Italy. Let's see what genius moves the famous trading republic made in the opening years of this campaign.

The fact that the less than capable Savoy player was able to form Italy at all makes a lot more sense now between Venice and Aragon's equally questionable diplo.

Is 1836 in Hungary, the Hungarian government still receiving countless telegram of the war in the Americas. They didn't ask for the telegrams, nor they know how they keep getting into official war plans for the war with the Commonwealth.
A mystery yet to be solve in Hungary, it was a plan of the Coalition [the hugbox] to disrupt Hungarian war planning, or it was a genuine plead for help from Gran Colombia, the mystery was never solve.

Honestly i'm kinda curious about what other nations Greenfors has played. He seems like one of the nicer players but sadly unlike people like bad frank and bigweevil i dont really remember him.

Venice just giving away his country to DM was just hilarious, is just like when austria lost the brothers wars and was forced to lose venice to italy, but they did jack shit in the war so they just give it to france and then france just give it to italy anyways.
At least in singleplayer, Spain gets the American stuff as accepted cultures and cores after revolution and counter revolution (the 1870 national focus tech), though in all of my runs, even with cheats, the Hispanic commonwealth's performance is kinda lackluster. Which is weird, because they have a decent amount rgos, pops and money.
AI can't handle:
1 The reconstruction. After a conquest (Or a quick one at least), POPs from both Spain and the Americas are on the breaking point. A good SPA soldier would get 300k to 400k soldiers, but an AI barely can get 150k, without mobs.
2 Money. The war is costly and even tho you gain a lot of money later, the AI doesn't know where to spend it.
3 The most important thing, It's a sea empire. Only the UK can managed that, specially because Spain doesn't get access to the Indian territories
The bad thing about it, is that the american territroy scale really badly. Since you dont receive immigration there. So by the time the endgame arrives, you have a bunch of states, with subpar population and the native population never get assimilated.
You are essentially relying upon that spaniards naturally migrate.

What I did, essentially, is I kept Spain out of trouble (you won't have enemies if you don't have friends), cheated healthcare and political reform (for pop growth and reduced militancy respectively) and just sat there, watching the the invisible hand of the market do its job.
Eventually, when the literacy caught up and capitalists acquired enough cash, the nation was, sort-of, booming. Before the turn of the century, the Commonwealth went from 7 to 3 industrial power. What bugged me, however, is that despite the growth, seemingly endless cash on the side of capitalists and powerful bonuses of laissez-faire*, there was always cteep unemployment. Factories were being built, the economy wasn't stagnating, but I had 100k unemployed pops around the whole country somewhere around 1890.
Later on, the unemployment went away, but the nation capped at around 2400 points of industry, which is as good as HPM Brazil with its base territory. That's mind-boggling, considering the amount of resources you have.
*Before jumping on the bandwagon of blaming laissez-faire, I have to remark that in singleplayer it's the most viable policy for a developed industry with a rich class of capitalists. Maybe I could have pumped those numbers up, if I did a more hands-on approach to economy, but I seriously doubt that.

You are entirely correct regarding scaling. Your only way out of this predicament is spamming (or cheating, like I did) pop growth tech for years on end and... see that Mainland Spain is still way more populated. The land you get from Colombia is stated, conveniently, but it's not much use until you get them pops accepted. And no, you don't accept the natives. You can potentially give out the reconquered land to viceroyalties, but I haven't tested whether they'll even get immigrants. Even if they will, nobody can vouch that they'll manage the land as good as a player.
As for relying on Spaniards. As mentioned, the provinces you get will be added as states, because of the conquest CB (unless it was changed in the last update, which I think it wasn't), so there is no hurry to state them. What Spaniards will be useful for, however, is getting administrative efficiency. In the jungle provinces of Venezuela. Or Mexican deserts. Or Ecuadorian mountains. Yeah, it's much better to just go for the tech and wait for 1870.

Love your vids as always Spud. I know this game must have been an absolute murder to actually participate in as a player, but I just love the amount of great content this has produced. The amount of desperate doomer wars and drama has only been matched by The American Bloodbath previously to this. Never forget that Italy never got Istria.
