We worked on this software while stuying, for two years now. Always listening to the great feedback we got from professionals and hobbyists, we improved this VR-software as good as possible. I bought some commerical software to create voxel art a few years ago, but stopped using them since we got VoxVR working. Its just way easiert to create 3-dimensional art from a 3-dimensional perspective with 3-dimensional tools.
If you have a VR headset (either the Oculus with Touch controllers or the HTC Vive), I really recommend you to give this software a try (you can always return games your bought on steam within one hour playtime).

This looks very interesting. We are always looking for new VR apps to try and review... 2 questions if you don't mind... Is there a way to have 2 people collaborate on a model and is there a way to export your work as a file that could maybe be 3D printed? This would be 2 features we would use often. Thanks! The Twins

      Hey!
The only way people can currently collab, is by saving and sending the file to somebody else. But there is no networked multiplayer etc. Maybe we will add this in the future.
VoxVR can export to .stl which is a common 3D-printing format :)
If you have further questions, feel free to ask :)

That is awesome! Maybe we will do a review in the future. We both use 3D printers and just the ability to export your file as an .STL is a huge benefit. Hopefully people see that as a value. Thanks for the fast response. Bob and Bill

How big is the colour palette? Compare to Magicavoxel's features, how close are you to it? Do you have some glass, emission option?

Magica Voxel is a .vox model creation and rendering software. VoxVR is just a voxel model creation (supporting multiple file formats) software. Theoretically you can use endless colors. VoxVR doesnt have materials (like glass, emission etc), just colors. But you can use a certain color to mark a material setting, and import the model into a rendering software like magica voxel. The specific color than has to be marked as that material.

I see! Thanks for the answer, would a renderer be hard to implement, or a material builder? What is the roadmap for you app? Do you plan on adding more feature?

Yeah would be a lot of work to implement. We now worked on VoxVR for more than one year. The update we released a few weeks ago is probably the last one for the foreseeable future (we still do bugfixes and adding some small features). You can read more about that last update here: www.brokenvector.com/2018/05/25/voxvr-update-1-1-0/
