  • Ingredients (5 to 6 servings)
    ▪︎500 grams spaghetti
    ▪︎1/2 kilogram breast chicken (cubed)
    ▪︎1/2 cup oyster sauce
    ▪︎1/4 cup char siu sauce
    ▪︎2 tablespoons chilli garlic paste
    ▪︎water 1/2 cup
    ▪︎slurry ( 1 tablespoon water, 1 tablespoon cornstarch)
    ▪︎2 tablespoons cooking oil
    ▪︎1 tablespoon sesame oil
    ▪︎1 cup dried shitake mushrooms
    ▪︎2 tablespoons green onion
    ▪︎1 medium onion (sliced)
    ▪︎4 cloves garlic ( minced)
    ▪︎1 tablespoon brown sugar
    ▪︎3 tbs peanuts (roasted)
    ▪︎pepper to taste
    Marinade chicken (optional)
    ▪︎1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
    ▪︎1 tableapoon cooking wine
    ▪︎pepper to taste

    Thank you for the recipe, i tried it and it tastes awesome! I didn’t have char siu so i used hoisin instead and i added a small teaspoon of peanut butter. It still turned out well.

    Thanks! I've followed this recipe twice already and works like a charm. Actually just tried it before typing in this comment. However, I'd like to address the portion of the slurry. When I followed the 1:1 ratio between cornstarch and water, the result was somewhat unintended and ended up removing some of the flour that had solidified. I decided to follow the 2:1 ratio and it worked perfectly fine.

    Tried this and doubled the recipe since the chicken is surprisingly a lot for a single recipe. And yes it's almost the same with yellow cab and my mom also liked it. But I added a lot of water more than said since it was too salty at first, I think I added around 3 cups of water lol

    I just use Clara Ole's Kung Pao Pasta Sauce to marinade the chicken and as the spaghetti sauce as what Chef Sandy Daza did in his cooking demo. No sweat!

    P.S. pls pls pls... can u replicate their shrimp alfredo, too? The shrimps are always just pinkish and soft/tender; and the sauce never dries up. Do they use lemon with it? Bec their shrimp alfredo tastes zesty and mild and just right. I have tried but have always failed to replicate it.

      you can try Simpol’s version if u want to skip the Char Siu sauce, Tried simpol’s version too, but this one is the most nearest copy of the yellow cab recipe.. hope this helps

      @@SuperTamx actually the reason i asked was becoz that's time was the height of the pandemic and malls were closed. When they finally open, i got Char Siu right away and cooked the dish. I've got positive results with my Charlie Chan pasta, thanks to u. 👍👍👍
